The Motorola SB5101 cable modem is a DOCSIS 2.0 modem with a simple, easy-to-use design. To connect this model to your existing internet service, just plug in the power cable, the Ethernet cable and the coaxial F connector cable. Finally, to start receiving internet connection, call your internet provider and request that they activate it with their service. Activation should take just a few minutes, and  then you’ll be able to browse the web, watch videos online and check your email.

How to Reset Motorola SB5101

  1. Plug in your Motorola SB5101 modem and allow it to fully power on for 1-2 minutes before beginning.
  2. Locate the reset button on the back of the SB5101 modem.
  3. Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds with a paperclip or pen cartridge.
  4. After 30 seconds, release the reset button and allow your modem to restart and reboot for about 5 minutes.
  5. Your SB5101 is now reset!
