How to Reset Netgear CG3000DV2

Resetting your cable modem is a really important tool to have on hand in case of network trouble, forgotten WiFi passwords and any other troubleshooting you may need to do. It takes just a few minutes, but can solve so many common home networking problems.

  1. Plug in your Netgear CG3000Dv2 and ensure that the modem is fully powered on and booted up before beginning.
  2. You’ll need a paperclip or pen cartridge to perform this next step. Make sure it can fit inside of the reset hole.
  3. Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release it and allow the modem to reboot for 5 minutes.
  4. After you see the WiFi lights come back on, on the front of the modem, that’s when you know the reset is completed.

Netgear CG3000Dv2 Bridge Mode

According to Netgear support, this model is not capable of being put into “bridge mode”, however you can certainly disable the WiFi built-in in the admin panel settings and then disable the DHCP server as well. However, this is not really the best option. If you truly need bridge mode, we recommend getting a different modem that will be more compatible with your needs.
