How to Reset Netgear CM1000

Performing a factory reset is a vital troubleshooting step that can resolve a large number of common networking problems. It’s important to have this in your back pocket as it can prevent having to call your internet provider or have them send out a technician. It takes just a few minutes, but can mean the difference between you needing to miss work for a technician call versus taking a few minutes to hit the reset button on your own.

  1. Plug in your CM1000 and wait for it to power on completely (about 3-5 minutes)
  2. Locate the reset button on the back of your Netgear CM1000 where the other ports are
  3. Press and hold down your reset button with a paperclip for 30 seconds
  4. Wait 3-5 minutes for your CM1000 to reboot and reset
