How to Reset Zyxel C1000Z

Factory resetting your modem is a quick but important troubleshooting tool that you can use to help resolve most common networking problems. Knowing how to reset your modem can also be helpful if you’re doing an upgrade or are switching to a new provider and are looking to resell your old CenturyLink Zyxel C1000Z.   1. Locate the reset button on the back of your modem near where all the ports are. On this model (C1000Z), there will be a red circle around where your reset button is.
  2. Next, locate a paperclip or a pen cartridge to press and hold down the reset button with.
  3. Press down the reset button for 30 seconds or until the front lights turn an amber color, then release.
  4. After releasing the button, allow the C1000Z to reset itself for 5 minutes. You’ll know it’s finished when you see the WiFi lights come on.
