It want this product to work! But the best it’s been able to do is load a single webpage before losing connection with an 80mbps download speed. Tried making a dedicated room to room connection with the coaxial lines and still terrible. Do not recommend. Installed a PoE filter as well to fix it and that made it lose connection entirely, it did “better” without it. Instructions are quite bad too and the website on the paper it comes with doesn’t exist.

I successfully set this adapter up in conjunction with the Comcast ARRIS TG1682G modem flawlessly. The cheaper Yitong adapter did not work.

This worked for me first time out of the box. Setup was a no brainer. However, I needed to make sure that my incoming cable (from my ISP, Cox Cable) was setup properly (I did this before ordering the MoCA adapters):
1) A filter (5-1025MHz) at end of the ISP cable (Cox already had a filter installed). This attenuates MoCA signals going back onto the ISP cable.
2) Any splitters need to be replaced with the MoCA 2.0 compliant version with a bandwidth of 5-1675Mhz.
I am now able to use wired Ethernet from an ActionTec adapter to my Ethernet devices (SmartTVs, Roku Ultra) anywhere in the house where the “TV” cable is routed.

This device is amazing. Getting 800Mps in another room with no loss in speed. I tried using a LAN cable directly connected to router for comparison and was getting similar results. Will definitely purchase more to expand my network.

I needed to get a fast backbone connection between my downstairs Google Fiber modem and my upstairs office where the switch is for all of my workstations and upstairs wireless access point. I was using AV2000 powerline adapters, which were very stable (much better than WiFi), but I was only getting about 70 Mbps up/down on speedtest.net. I know there are more-accurate ways to to directly test the speed of this link than speedtest.net, but I think it makes my point in this review sufficiently. After installing these MOCA 2.5 adapters, I now get 562 Mbps down and 896.39 up on speedtest.net. So, I feel pretty confident that I am nearly matching what a hard-wired 1-Gig Ethernet line would have given me.

Easy to install. Works flawlessly. An easy way to create an ethernet network in your house if it was prewired for cable or satellite TV.

MOCA and docsis, like from time Warner / spectrum, cannot coexist on the same coax lines. Both WAN (docsis) and LAN (MOCA) connections can be made, but the internet becomes unusably slow because of interference from MOCA.

These work out great! I need to get better bandwidth to my upstairs from my office downstairs with no easy way to run CAT6 cable. Was able to use existing cable to route it to the room that I need it. The other great thing is if I need to add more rooms I just need to add more units and some splitters in the box outside to do so. So far they have had no issues and seem to not affect my kids online gaming with any sort of noticeable lag.

Great product ran a 25 ft coax with a 25 ft Ethernet cable to reach my router. Also have a splitter to connect to treadmill television.

I like that this product, once installed, works. There isn’t anything to configure, update, or maintain; you just plug everything in and it works. I read another review that said you have to have direct cable lines and no splitters for this to work, but that isn’t true. I have 4 of these on opposite ends of my house with multiple splitters (at least 4 that I know Xfinity installed) in my home for TVs and the cable modem and these things perform just as they should. That person likely has the wrong type of splitter, as there are some that will filter out MoCA device frequencies. Per ActionTec’s site, splitter requirements are as follows:
The splitter needs to be:
MoCa compliant
Bi-directional
5-1675 Mhz 6kV
Coax ports are -3.5 d(b loss)
My speed using wireless repeaters was about 25Mbps max, but using these, I am getting about 95Mbps (average) when I do a speed test to Xfinity. Keep in mind that I am being limited by my computer’s 10/100 ethernet connection and which tops out at 100Mbps AND the limited speed that Xfinity provides to my home. Connection stability and speed are both outstanding and unparalleled.
The only negative I have is the poorly written instruction manual. It was either written by someone who isn’t a native English speaker or someone with severe ADD, as they seem to be written out of order and don’t make sense. Luckily for me, the instructions aren’t really required as the setup is very straightforward and basically idiot proof, although some basic computer network knowledge is useful. You plug the cable in, the ethernet in, the power in, and you should be up and running within seconds. I didn’t use the instructions to set mine up, and the only reason I know the instructions are poorly written is because I was wondering what the MPS button on the side was for. That’s another reason that I believe that the instructions are poorly written because there is absolutely NO documentation on what that button does. I went to their website and this is what the MPS button does according to ActionTec, “The MPS (MoCA Protected Setup) button allows the ECB6250’s to secure the data connection. This is only compatible with other ECB6250 devices. It will not secure on a mixed MoCA network.” Just so everyone is aware of the functionality of that button and the limitation in the event they plan to use a mixed MoCA network.
The only unknown is how long they will last. Everything electronic dies at one point or another and since I have never heard of ActionTec, I wonder how long these will actually last. For $400 (I bought four at $199/pair), if they last me at least five years, then I feel like I got my monies worth; but I hope they last longer than that.

Wow! I’m pretty amazed. These things work incredibly well. Using them as a hard wired bridge between two sides of our office building. I plug them in and they simply work. It’s really just that simple.
Jake G –
These things are completely amazing. If your house is wired up with coaxial cables, and you are trying to get ethernet to different points, for switches, access points, etc., this does it seamlessly. I easily get gigabit speed out of it, and there is no noticeable latency. For example a 14 ms ping from my modem, and also 14 ms ping after going through this device.
steve canchola –
Super easy hookup and worked perfectly with no issues.

Installed very easily, but documentation could be better.
Install a splitter near your cable modem, one end to modem the other end to one adapter, call this A. Plus a cat6 or cat7 cable from your router into the same adapter A that you just connected to coax and now you can use all of your homes coax lines to connect the other adapter B (or buy multiple more) to and you can use the Ethernet on adapter B like you were directly connected to the router by your modem. Requires adding a signal blocker where your cable enters your home to keep from broadcasting your data to your neighbors, almost all cable installs since the 90’s will have one already in place.

I am using this control my back yard outdoor lights. I don’t really use the app as I am controlling it with Alexa and Alexa app. Wi fi seems great as I have not lost control yet. I will be purchasing another for the front yard and Christmas lighting.
