Get Better WiFi with the Actiontec ECB6250K02
Actiontec’s ECB6250K02 MoCA 2.5 Network Adapter uses the existing coax wiring in your home to establish a reliable wired connection for your home network. Now you can extend and enhance your Wi-Fi network beyond your primary router to create an extremely stable and reliable connection. Additionally, extend your network’s reach to every room that has a coax outlet. Get the best of both worlds: the convenience of Wi-Fi throughout the entire home with the solid reliability of wires and faster speeds wherever you need them.
Internet Autobahn
Create a 2.5 Gbps “Internet Autobahn” between your Router and a WiFi Access Point or WiFi Extender, by connecting one MoCA Network Adapter to your Router and one to your WiFi Access Point or Extender in another room. This superhighway uses the existing cable wiring as a backhaul or “Internet Autobahn” for expanding the Wi-Fi network beyond your primary router. It creates a bigger pipe for all of your traffic, meaning faster speeds, steadier connections, and less congestion!
MoCA Network Adapter
A fast Internet connection with a solid WiFi connection is necessary to avoid latency and lag when gaming. MoCA is a proven solution that sends all your home network Internet traffic over the coaxial wiring already in your house, making gaming a better online experience. MoCA Network Adapters offer low latency, high-speed action, and a robust, stable signal. The ECB6250K02 will improve your WiFi performance by up to 300% compared to standard WiFi Mesh products, giving your wireless network the speed and stability of a wired connection. You get a reliable, low-latency wireless network that performs like Ethernet.
Better Streaming Without Buffering
Does your current network have issues with buffering and streaming video? Unleash your home network’s full potential with MoCA. A MoCA connection, instead of traditional WiFi alone, will vastly improve the quality of your video streaming. Turn your home’s existing coaxial wires into a wired Ethernet connection for rock-solid performance with speeds up to 1 Gbps to endpoint devices. MoCA Network Adapters offer much faster throughput and a more reliable signal, perfect for pristine 4K and HD streaming of Netflix and YouTube videos.
Advanced Security and Easy Setup
The Actiontec ECB6250K02 supports MoCA’s new Protected Setup (MPS) technology to make it even easier to add and set up additional adapters in other rooms. MPS gives you additional security on your home network, so you can easily and securely add the adapter to your network, enabling data encryption with the press of a button.

After contemplating how I was going to manage to fish cable from my office to my utility room in my brand new house (which was only wired with coax to my office for some reason) I found this option that I hadn’t previously considered. This takes about 15 minutes to install and essentially converts your cable (coax) jacks into ethernet. My speeds went from 300 mbps down on wifi to 980 to 1000 mbps down, which is what I am getting with ethernet in other parts of my house.
My configuration is essentially
[basement office workstation] –CAT6—{MoCA}–coax–wall jack (F connector) |—- internal coax cable in walls —| —server room — coax drop — {MoCA} — CAT6 — [gigabit switch] –CAT6———| ethernet port upstairs where cable modem / router plugged in]

I wasn’t sure if it would work. This really works well with high speed.

I first tried this with my original cable service and it appeared to work well through about 100 ft or more of cable. After I switched to new provider, it interfered in some way with my router so I had to abandon it.

I have CenturyLink fiber into my house. I connected one adapter to the fiber-to-ethernet converter output to the coax in my house, and the other between the coax and the WiFi/ethernet router in my upstairs office. Rock solid connection. No loss in speed.

Easy to use, install and does what intended. Long run from my garage where fiber comes in, to office where I use my own router. Converter on each end and NO loss of speed (500/500). Converted ethernet from ONT to COAX, 50 ft run to office, then COAX to ethernet to Router. No loss.

I switched from Comcast to Verizon Fios this weekend for internet and TV. I had my own modem/router so I didn’t have to rent from Comcast, and I wanted the same thing for Verizon. Just one nitpicky thing from me because in the end, the equipment to replace the Verizon router ended up costing about $60 more than the router if I had “purchased” it outright ($300) but I couldn’t be happier about it.
So I bought my own standard router (an ASUS with Wifi6) and after swapping it out for the Fios router, I realized that the cable set top box stopped work after about a day while it was trying to retrieve TV guide, DVR, and On Demand data. I had thought that I was just going to miss out on DVR and On Demand since I have never used those features for any service I’ve had, so that was a whoops.
Purchased this and the problem was immediately resolved. Fios TV and internet worked just fine and I reset the set top box to make sure it wasn’t using cached data from the Verizon router. Didn’t have to do any setup, it was just plug and play. I bought a 2-pack because I am also in the process of setting up a wired link to an upstairs office after figuring out the mysterious second connection Comcast made to my wiring because the Fios tech was surprised that I still had working Comcast wifi coming from my upstairs router after he disconnected the cable coming into my home from outside.
It’s been over 24 hours with the current setup and everything is still perfect. Blazing fast upload and download speeds and all of my TV guide data is there. The Verizon router has been sitting in a corner waiting to be returned and I’ve also tested the setup again by connecting a MOCA filter that arrived a couple hours ago. So 5/5 stars from me so far.
My setup is:
fiber optic cable from outside -> ONT in my living room
ethernet cable from ONT -> router
coax cable from ONT -> 4 way splitter
coax from splitter -> one of these MOCA adapters -> ethernet to router
another coax from splitter -> Verizon set top box -> HDMI to TV
third coax from splitter -> waiting to be connected to wall port after I resolve the Comcast coax issue

This worked better than i expected. It solved the “dead zone” on the one side of my home where my office is. It also improved the signal for my daughter who is taking online classes. The installation was quick and painless.
