Switched from Comcast Xfinity to AT&T 1000Mbps Service (Lightspeed-Fiber). The technician first ran fiber from a couple houses down to my house. Then installed the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) inside the house. From there I had Ethernet over my AT&T phone line up to the room where my BGW210 would be connected. Since the ONT provides Ethernet, the CAT5E/6 cable was connected from the outlet to the ONT(WAN) port on the BGW210. Connection was completed within 2 minutes of powering up. If you want to operate in bridge mode, use the “pass through” feature. Don’t forget to assign it to the desired device (MAC). For anyone who is comfortable with router GUIs, the interface is pretty simple and has pretty much everything you’re going to need. The unit does include telephony (VOIP) capability, but a battery backup needs to be purchased separately. (APC 1500G for example) The unit includes 4 gigabit Ethernet ports, and two USB ports. Expect speeds in the order of 900-940 Mbps due to the overhead. Connection speed is visible in the router GUI. Remember, if the web site you’re connecting to is slow then you’re still going to “crawl.” One last thing it is IPV6 capable. I do recommend this unit.

I bought this at the recommendation of an AT&T chat CSR, who assured me it would work out of the box. Instead, after days and days of trying to get a solution, I had to have a technician come to my house to do it. He basically was on chat with someone remote as well, but had access to a higher level of support than I did. Then I got billed $99 for the visit, and I am keeping an eye on my next bill to make sure the charge gets removed, as the AT&T modem I had (5268ac) had a well-known firmware problem (DMZ throttling) for months. The tech even had the gall to claim that the firmware issue was not a problem with the equipment (hardware), thus the $99 charge. Prepare for long hours spent with customer service to get things sorted out.
The interface is much snappier than the slow 5268 modem that came with my fiber service.

Product worked with uverse adsl (green phone jack) with no problems. Hooked it up, system rebooted several times, then showed adsl connection, did not have to precook figure.

Great replacement for my AT&T DSL modem that was also an Arris modem.
The downside is that AT&T’s webpage was not helpful at all…..Even when I tried to use the search feature to find instructions….it was frustrating and I just ended up going in circles!??…I believe they just want you to call and have someone hook it up for a fee…all I found was just a bunch of marketing videos with no helpful information.
I solved all my modem hookup issues by going to the advanced device configuration website for the modem, that is listed in the back of the modem. Problem solved!

Meh router, locks you out of what should be default features in a modern router. Not good for security.
This model does not come with a single cable for setup.

This gateway is easy to install and it works very well. Anyone who orders this product needs to know it does not come with a power supply or any hook up cables, you get the gateway and that is it. I don’t know why they say “ONT Required” it is a standard phone line DSL hook u
