very strong signal. Difficult to set up p2p but that has nothing to do with the quality of the product.

Super easy to install and so far totally worth the money! Was tired of paying a monthly rental fee to our Internet provider for a crappy modem/router that kept dropping out. Our provider “tested” and said rental was running fine but we have seen such an improvement in speed and performance since purchasing this and making the switch about a month ago.

    Richard J. Holmstrom – August 29, 2016

I bought this during the annual Amazon Day and it was a great deal! The hookup was simple and I made one phone call to my internet provider (Brighthouse) to get it running on my internet service. Performance has been excellent through my whole house. I’d highly recommend this model as it’s fast and stable. I would prefer if it came in black (I’d rather have it blend into my AV stand – the white’s more obvious) but I’d still buy it again.

    Customer – August 30, 2016

It installed easily and has not let me down since I’ve plugged it in. It’s compact and doesn’t take up as much space as buying two seperate items. My last router and modem had to be restarted at least once a month and the router alone was over $200. It does the job well 🙂

Works well so far but I had to look online for the default password because it’s motorola instead of password. So if you can’t login try admin for username and motorola as the password.

The Arris Surfboard modem works flawlessly with our Cox Communications Internet and HDTV service. This particular modem was suggested as one that would work with Cox Communications and it has done so without a problem. I would not hesitate to purchase this, or any, Motorola/Arris modem because you will get a quality product. The only problem we experienced was the incorrect provisioning of the modem by Cox when they input the incorrect serial number into their system. I can’t blame Arris for Cox errors. Once the correct information was entered by Cox, the internet and HDTV service has performed without problems.

I bought this modem to replace the one provided by Xifinity. Unfortunately, it can’t do the job. It can only cover very limited area on the first floor, and almost no signal on the second floor. I had to buy an extender.

One of the best, if not the BEST modem/router i’ve ever own. Normally i’ll set up my modem/router and have to also connect a bridge for better connection speeds in the back of my house, not this time! I did anyway, just because i bought one the same time i bought this, and i didn’t want to throw it out, or not use it. But its not needed. This thing is a beast. GREAT GREAT GREAT connection speeds. I live in a 2500sq ft house the connection speeds are awesome all around the entire house even in the master bedroom which is in the deepest corner compared to the location of this modem/router. Definite must have if you need a two in one!!So far so good!!!I did go ahead and get the 2yr Square Trade Warranty, i’m hoping i don’t have to use it.

Over 25,000 reviews! So just my quick 2 cents(I am reviewing specifically the SBG6782-AC AC1750 Modem/Wi-Fi Router):*First and foremost, remember – this is a router and modem in one, so for most cable internet users, you have to call to your service provider and tell them the MAC address of this product, so they can enter it into your account, before it can work properly. This is something you have to do each time you replace the modem, not the router. I had forgotten about that fact, and although the diagnostics showed it was sending and receiving data, I couldn’t get an Internet connection. Gave Time Warner Cable a call, and it was working immediately after. You can find the MAC address on the product box, inside the instruction booklet, and/or on the modem itself.*Once up and running, it’s been working flawlessly. I have the 100 Mbps down/10 Mbps up package, and Speedtest.net confirms it for both Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections(actually 118 Mbps down/12 Mbps up).*The IP/Web address to set up the configurations is 192.168.0.1 – the default username and password is admin/motorola.*The dimensions are quite big, at just over 10 inches long, just under 9 inches tall, and 3.25 inches wide at the base/stand, and just under 2.25 inches for the box’s actual width. It weighs about two pounds.

Garbage! Save your money and buy something else. I used this to replace a stand alone modem and an Apple airport extreme for wifi. This unit constantly dropped the internet connection even for my wired devices and the wifi was terrible compared to the Apple airport. I tied to use it for a week and a half and have returned this for the SB6190. The SB6190 works great.

router performance seems to be good, speed seems to be good, connection seems to be reliable but the administration pages are the very worst I have seen in 15 years of dealing with home routers. ARRIS needs to throw away the entire management console and start from scratch to make it useful. I had to spend hours reconfiguring my wireless cameras to use a different network segment because this device CANOOT use 192.168.100.x for some reason. I lost probably 8-10 hours time messing with it reconfiguring everything again, then resetting then trying again etc. before finally giving up and unmounting all of my wi-fi cameras to bring to the router to reconfigure them.

I just got it today so take this with a grain of salt. I cant see a problem with it. I had a slight problem managing my wifi, no connectivity issues though. The default password for managing the wifi was wrong so I called in and they gave me the new one. It was then a piece of cake. Its fast! If I have any problems I’ll update this review. However considering the thousands of reviews this has I wouldn’t worry too much.

My husband bought this back in mid June. It’s now 3 months later, and I wish he would have purchased a returnable one, or we would have had the problems, or returned it within the time allotted. For the past month, for sure, we Los connection about 4 to 5 times a day. Considering we finally dropped all cable TV, this was a bad time for this to happen. We have the modem/router in my son’s room, which is about the middle of the house. He will complain when it goes out, so it’s not just a distance thing….it’s just a piece of junk thing. Pretty sad when you pay basically a couple hundred dollars and you get a max of 2 months use out of an item. The dog chewed on the cord of our last one, and it still lasted us for a few years. I do not recmomend this item.

This is a great router and modem in one. Unless you are doing really high tech things you don’t need the modem and router in separate boxed (I.e., if you don’t know what I’m talking about you don’t need it).I shopped around a lot and asked friends who know more about tech than I do. One recommended this router as a middle tier (upper price point of the tier) and I’m very grateful. We get signal everywhere in our house and have 2 stories.

Although packaging clearly states compatibility with TWC and download speeds up to 343mbps, you can not get any download speeds greater than 100 Mbps with TWC. Not sure if this is all locations or not. Check with service provider before you buy. Actually, I did check with TWC before I bought this last year, but when TWC upgraded to 300 Mbps service there was no mention of incompatibility. Current TWC web site does not show SBG 6782 as capable of higher service. Also, recent experience with this modem has been very disappointing. Numerous dropped signals from wireless usage. Constantly getting “connection lost” messages even when working in the room with the modem, I question its range. Trouble shooting calls to both TWC and Arris yield mutual, and unresolveable, finger pointing. It’s the cable service, it’s the modem. Consumer looses!!!!! Very unhappy with both Arris and TWC.

great router/modem with LOTS of capability! I only use it to make 50% of its capabilities, but this modem/router can do a ton of stuff and I no longer have to pay the dumb cable company a rental fee every month to use theirs. 10 months of no rental fee and you’ve gotten a return on your purchase. Every month after that is just saved money going in your pocket.

This is a handy wifi cable box but does not include a plug for internet phone service so I had to return it. It is probably my fault for being so unaware of the technology but maybe the product description should say somewhere it cannot accommodate phone service if you have a tv, phone, internet bundled package. The return was easy but cost over $20.

easy set-up, but the main issue I am having is the range of the wifi signal is very limited. it is possible that the settings can be configured to remedy this issue. If I can configure the settings to do that, then I will revise the number of stars given with this review because it is otherwise a great modem.

We were having issues with wifi dropping and buffering CONSTANTLY. I had contacted the cable company thinking it was the internet service but they came out and said the connection was fine. Turns out it was the wireless router which was bad. Once I installed the surfboard I was back in business. I can actually watch Netflix, Game and download on different devices at the same time. Prior to this I was buffering in 480p on youtube which was extremely frustrating. The price was steep on this router, there are cheaper option out there. In fact I could have got one from the cable company for cheaper. I didnt want that. I wanted a high quality router and this is what we got with the ARRRIS Surfboard.I would definitely recommend this item to everyone that is looking for a modem/router combo who is sick of slow wifi due to bad equipment provided by your cable company.

I am at a Starbucks as I write this review because we cannot connect to the internet!! The technology with this device is so antiquated we can’t do anything. We increased our data with Cox and it’s been non-stop problems–daily re-booting doesn’t even help anymore. We usually have two phones, one laptop, and our Roku going at once (in terms of internet usage) and this thing can only handle one device at a time!! Additionally, the range is so poor you basically have to sit next to it to get more than one bar. I would say 600 feet TOPS! If it was 2011, I would tell you to buy this, but it’s 2016 and this thing needs to be retired.

After having this modem/router combo for a short time, I have noticed that connectivity randomly and frequently drops and some devices no longer are able to connect to the internet. I have experienced situation with VOIP phones where the SIP server cannot be found randomly, or I can get dial tone on the phone and calls can come in, but audio stream for incoming calls do not work, so the calls are basically useless. Brighthouse has checked signals and they show that they pretty much can’t be any better. I have seen many comments on this combo modem/router outside of Amazon at this point and the comments I have seen on here also relate to what I am seeing. It’s pretty disappointing that this piece of hardware has become such an issue. At this point, I’m not even sure I can get a replacement anymore and will need to buy new equipment. Starting to get fed up with Arris products.

I was afraid that I would have to deal with customer service to configure this baby to its best but it was pretty much plug-n-play.Xfinity recognized the device instantly and activated it just like that. The Arris software for configuring the network is pretty good and although I’m an advanced user I felt like a lot of non advanced users would have found it easy to use too – it has a brilliant configuration wizard that walks you through the most important items very intuitively. Very very good for such a widely configurable machine.

Not overly impressed. Connection speeds worse than before on all systems with 2.4GHz. PS4 lost over half it’s connection speed. I had high hopes for this but looks like I’m out $150 for mediocre results. I will say that set up was a breeze.Update: Now nothing can connect to the internet for longer than 1 to 3 minutes without being kicked. Complete waste of money. Do NOT buy this expecting for an easy option. Ended up buying Netgear cable modem, wireless router and wifi extender. Had all 3 up and running within an half hours with over double the speed for most of my devices. All 3 products cost me less than the Arris SURFboard.

We replaced three devices (Arris SB6141 Cable Modem, Netgear WNDR4000 WiFi Router and Actiontec MoCA Router) with one device. This modem/router uses a single 110 plug (not a wall wart). This upgrade added 802.11AC and uses less total power, coax and network cords than the components it replaced. My Only gripe is the guest networks happened to use an IP address range I wanted to use (192.168.2.xxx). However, I just fixed a couple devices with fixed the IP addresses and everything works great. The MoCA is compatible with TiVo Roamio DVR and TiVo Mini’s. Our Honeywell thermostat, iPhones and iPads all connected automatically when I edited the WiFi setup to match old router. WiFi is now much more stable with large file transfers than the older Netgear Router it replaced. The TiVo Roamio needed a reset of it’s network settings to pair up to the new MoCA, the mini’s just had to be rebooted. We’re a month in and no reboots to this router have been required. What a difference!!

Dropped internet connection……that’s what initially was happening when I got this gateway fired up.Having read the reviews both good and bad I weighed my options. For the money the Arris SBG-6782AC seemed like the best alternative to paying the $10 monthly rental fee from Comcast. While it’s not ideal to have the modem and router contained in one unit I took a chance because DSLreports said if you must purchase a wireless gateway that this is the product you should get. Here are some things that I did to get everything up and running the way it should.1. The installation and setup process of the SBG-6782AC went off without a hitch. If you follow the instructions in the quick start guide setting it up is a breeze. With Comcast you can simply plug your computer into one of the ethernet ports to setup and activate the unit. Opening a browser window will take you to the Comcast equipment setup/registration page. From there it’s just a matter of following the on-screen instructions. Most importantly Comcast will update the gateway’s firmware…..This is very important because you cannot perform this action yourself on this unit. As of 10-16-2016 the most recent firmware version appears to be D30GW-EAGLE-1.5.0.0-GA-07-NOSH. Knowing this is important because there are very few resources available online to tell you if your gateway firmware is up to date…..The manufacturer’s web site does not give you this information…(it might but I sure couldn’t find it after digging around for a while) An out of date firmware version will cause headaches throughout your network.2. Not only does the software in the gateway need to be up to date but all your wireless wifi adapters must have their current drives installed too. My laptop has an Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 100 wifi adapter that, according to the hardware manufacturer, will not be supported for much longer. I actually found out by mistake that my adapter driver was not up to date. OUT OF DATE WIFI ADAPTER DRIVER SOFTWARE IS WHY MY INTERNET CONNECTION WAS DROPPING OUT. Updating the driver through Windows did not work. Windows was telling me that my computer already had the most current version of the driver software….The date on the most current driver, according to Windows, was from 2011. *******Here is what I did to fix that issue****** (NOTE: Your computer should either be hooked up to the gateway via an ethernet cable or connected with some type of USB wifi adapter so you can still have access to the internet while the built it wifi adapter is being updated) Go to your control panel and bring up your device manager. Select “network adapters” (write down the name and model # of the adapter for future reference) and right click on your wireless wifi adapter then select “uninstall”….Once the wifi adapter is uninstalled, right click on any category in the device manager and select “scan for hardware changes”. After scanning for hardware changes your wireless wifi adapter will show up as an unknown device in the device manager tree. Now you need to get online, enter the name of your wifi adapter and do a search for its driver software. Once you’ve found the correct version of the adapter’s software for your operating system (Mine is Windows 7) go ahead and download it…..then install it. This will either automatically update the wifi adapter’s software or make it available to you to update the driver yourself. If you need to do it yourself just right click on your adapter’s name in the device manager tree and select “update driver software”….It *should* find the new software and install it without issue. AS IT TURNS OUT THE NEW VERSION OF THE WIFI ADAPTER’S SOFTWARE WAS 4 YEARS NEWER THAN WHAT WINDOWS WAS TELLING ME WAS ALREADY UP TO DATE.If you are having problems with dropping internet connections give this process a shot……I accidentally found out that this is what the problem was. Maybe I can save you some time by pointing you in the right direction.4 stars for the equipment which works very well even all the way out to my man cave (shed) which is 100 feet away from the house out in the backyard….Minus one star due to the fiddling around that I had to do to get everything working properly. I consider myself very tech savvy but if you are having dropped connection issues it can be time consuming trying to get all the little bugs worked out. Hopefully my review can save you a lot of the time that I put in getting things working smoothly. UPDATED SOFTWARE IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE OPERATION OF THE SBG-6782-AC.Update 11-3-16: My connection speeds were pretty poor with the wireless N card in my laptop. I swapped out the card with a dual band model and my speeds increased significantly. The router really moves along in the 5 Ghz range. The gateway has worked flawlessly for a few weeks now…..It’s never needed restarting and has never dropped the internet connection. If you keep your drivers up to date I suspect this product will function as advertised. I am very happy with my purchase.

This thing works with my Xfinity internet, but it certainly does not wow me with it’s performance. I’ve lived in my house for 15 years and have always had fast internet (both Comcast and Fios). I’ve had several modems and routers over the years but they have always been rented. I recently switched back to Comcast for internet and wanted to save money on equipment charges. I bought this unit on sale based on the thousands of reviews on Amazon. The good – the unit started working as soon as it was installed. I ordered it before Comcast came out to activate my internet, so it was installed and setup by their technician. He called Comcast and dealt with whatever is necessary to activate a modem with them. The bad – it seems to hang up on occasion and require a reboot to function correctly. The bigger issue for me is that the wifi range kinda sucks. I’ve never had connectivity issues in my house before, but the wifi coverage with this unit on my second floor is dodgy at best. If I could do it over, I would definitely NOT buy this unit again. The combo unit that I had from Fios was FAR more reliable and offered significantly better wifi coverage.

Disclaimer: This is a review of the product only. Arris customer representatives have been extremely helpful and very courteous and they tried their best to help me resolve the issue but to no avail. That said, their product exchange policy is that I ship the modem first paying for shipping and they ship a replacement modem back after 5-7 business days after they have received my modem. They expect the customer to stay without Internet connection for a couple of weeks. Wonder who in the company came up with that brilliant idea!OK, about the product, where do I begin? The problems started on day 1. The WiFi connectivity is extremely unstable. All devices (every single one without exception, iPhones, iPads, laptops, printer, TV set up boxes, you name it) drop Wifi randomly and either reconnect on their own or you have to manually reconnect. Oftentimes, the device is/seems connected to wifi but the page does not load at all. It happens in both levels of our house and so distance from the router does not seem to be an issue. I did call Comcast as well to see if this is an ISP issue and everything looked good on their side and they pointed me to contact Arris.I made 4 calls to Arris two of which were detailed troubleshooting exercises none of which helped. They checked pretty much everything from SNR values, enabling/disabling b/g/n modes, changing BW settings, changing channel multiple times after scanning nearby wireless APs in the area for both 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz, enabling/disabling SSID broadcast, changing wireless security and encryption settings (did not try unencrypted mode and I don’t care if that works because I will not be using it that way), enabling/disabling WPS, enabling/disabling airtime prioritization, enabling/disabling band steering, trying different positions for the modem (away from speakers, 2.4 Ghz phones) etc. etc. (Arris does not do Firmware updates. They rely on the ISP for this.)For comparison, we had Verizon FioS for two years at the same location before (leased their modem) and never had issues; not one! It was plug and play and it worked. I never had to login to the router in two years.I cannot recommend this product in good conscience. I do see lot of good reviews here and I may have been an unfortunate recipient of a defective unit but having gone through all this, the product does not deserve a good review for sure.PS. I have already tried multiple times to submit this review and it does not go through because of flaky Wifi! Need to keep trying until I succeed…

Effective modem/router but I am deducting two stars because:1. It restricts the NAT IP ranges you can select.2. The coverage of its WiFi options is very poor. I ended up buying a dedicated AP (access point) that covers far more distance than the ARRIS.

UPDATE:Problems with my ISP has smoke screened my analysis. This router is fine, I have added two stars for now(for a total of four). It seems as though my service provider, or possibly faulty wiring, is the real culprit and the source of my problems that I have been having. I refuse to give the full five stars because I am powerless to update or not update the firmware.–This cable modem was OK until it broke. If I could go back I would probably keep my routing and wi-fi-ing capabilities separated. Currently, this thing only allows one computer in the house to connect and the administration page no longer functions. I’m afraid I’m going to take it off of life support.

I purchased this at the end of April and have had several issues. It does not seem to like Wide Open West. For some reason I get locked out of my SURFBoard. I’ve spoken to tech support and they are stumped. Can login with Safari, but once the initial configuration takes place, cannot use Chrome, ID, for FireFox. We’ve cleared browsing history, etc. If I disconnect the Cable from the modem I can get in with those browsers. Reconnect the cable and I’m locked out. Tech Support is fairly stumped and recommends having WOW re provision the Modem, basically remove it from my account and then set it back up. Their tech support is helpful, but seems like the modem should work better. The other item I noticed is that before I used a Netgear router/ wireless switch. It had much better range than the SURFBoard. I’ve had to go out and buy range extenders to cover what Netgear could do by itself. So overall it’s ok, but based upon my experience I feel like there has to be something better out there.

Recently purchased this modem and wanted to use it a week or so before submitting a review. I am very pleased with the performance. So far I am using one of the four ethernet ports (soon to be more) and both wifi bands. I have yet to see a noticeable difference between the two bands, as far as speed, but my internet only provides a best speed tested at 54mbs. I live in a small two story house and signal strength is sufficient throughout. I did load it up with two cell phones, one lap top and a tv all streaming at the same time as a test. No buffering issues. I also bought it “used” through Amazon warehouse for half the regular price. Condition was very good. I am very pleased with this purchase. No more rental fees to TWC.

I was looking to set up a wireless network for my parents and in the pursuit of simplicity I opted for the SBG6782-AC. I’m writing this review to hopefully save someone else from making the same mistake. The modem is fine. The wireless router is where everything falls apart. LAN throughput on the A/C network is slower than on my previous N network (Asus RT-N66U). The range is also disappointing and the connection frequently drops. I have to power cycle this device multiple times a week. The firmware is entirely under the control of your service provider (in this case Comcast), which is another downside.I should have trusted the strong feeling of trepidation I had about buying an AIO device. The “simplicity” is not worth the trade-off in reliability and capability. Stick to a plain Surfboard and the router of your choice.

The signal on this device is sub-optimal given the price and the ratings. I would say it is on par with a high level N router but with the AC price tag. Plus it runs very hot. I found myself having to restart the thing at least every other day to restore the bandwidth speeds back to normal otherwise I would be surfing the web with a 1Mbps connection directly connected over Ethernet. Ridiculous. I give it two stars since on rare occasions it would work as advertised. And of course I thought eventually it would start working and now it is passed the point were I can return it.I emailed the company ARRIS to ask if there were any firmware upgrades that might help boost the quality of the signal and the consistency. Their response was that they do not have any upgrades available nor will there ever be any since this device is considered legacy and is no longer supported by ARRIS.Very Disappointing. It’s a shame that most of the products on amazon are bad quality items and are really just scams to get your money. Both amazon and 3rd party sellers know that the percentage of people who actually return defective/unusable/sub-standard products is very small in comparison to how many people are like me who think about returning it but end up waiting to long and having to swallow the cost of a useless piece of hardware or whatever it may be. Not to mention half the time when you are purchasing a “new item” it comes in second hand re-packaged box and has clearly been used and returned already. That one really gets me upset.

The worst one I’ve ever had. Constantly dropping connections, then it’s difficult to reconnect. Bought a range extender thinking that would help. I had never needed one before but thought I’d try. Didn’t help because it kept dropping the connection to the extender. It was sitting 20 feet from it with direct line of sight. Gave up and bought a TP Link Archer. Now I can connect anywhere in the house and do NOT need the extender.

DO NOT BUY. Instead get the NETGEAR AC1750 (16×4) Wi-Fi Cable Modem Router (C6300). Initially, I liked the white, sleak look of the Arris Surfboard SBG6782 along with the relatively good Amazon reviews. First one I got was completely hosed; kept assigning an IPv4 address to the IPv6 setting. Returned it for a replacement and got the second one it up and working… for a day at the most. Wi-fi signal kept dropping, range was horrible, and the worst part was I would be connected to the Wi-Fi but my devices would show as No Internet Connection. Power off/power on of the Surfboard would resolve the issues for a couple hours, but then they’d come back. Just horrible. Finally read up on Amazon reviewers who had the same issue with the Surfboard and they pointed to the Netgear AC1750/C6300 combo. I bought the Netgear and haven’t had any problems with, works awesome. Do yourself a favor and just get the NETGEAR AC1750 (16×4) Wi-Fi Cable Modem Router (C6300) for the couple extra bucks.

For the reasonable price, ease of installation, and consistent connectivity, this is a great combo(cable modem/wi-fi router) package. I bought this to replace an earlier Arris SURFboard (model SBG6580) which had constant wi-fi connectivity issues. The documentation (both manual and online help) for setup and web based Manager (router admin tool) has been helpful and instructional. It took me about 15 minutes to replace the 6580 with this 6782-AC and haven’t been disappointed with its performance yet. Kuddos to Team Arris!

Not happy with this modem/router.1. The range is horrible. We used to be with Verizon and had an 8 year old wifi router that would reach out to the workshop with no problem (only about 100 feet away). This one is very weak2. The wifi doesn’t work very well, even when close to the Arris. We have iPads/iPhones and they would show that they were connected to the wifi but nothing would load. I had to bring an old router from work that I don’t use any more and set it up as an extension to the Arris so we could get more consistent wifi.3. One of the Ethernet ports doesn’t give consistent connection. I hooked my laptop up to the Arris directly with an Ethernet cable because the wifi wouldn’t work and the connection pulsed constantly! I could see the Internet connection in my task bar going in and out, in and out. We’ve lived with this for many months because I am sooo upset that I spent money on a device that is horrible. I just grin and bear it. I hope to be able to buy something to replace this for Christmas.

I purchased the surfboard with high hopes for fast internet. The surfboard arrived and was very easy to setup, even with xfinity. However upon plugging the unit in, I immediately noticed a very high pitched frequency noise. It was painful to hear, and it actually was distressing my two dogs. They became restless and continuously were panting. I called customer service and ran through the gamut of trouble shooting they offered. The basic plug, unplug, factory reset and still the noise persisted. The only time the noise was not present is when the surfboard was unplugged. Also if multiple items connect to the surfboard the frequency would change pitches as it was further loaded. Customer service then said that it’s probably my wiring. SERIOUSLY??? Even though I’ve never had any issues in the past with any other router/modem combo, or any other electrical item. They were willing to ship me a new one at my cost, after they received my ‘defective’ one, again at my cost. And I would then be without internet for several weeks. RIDICULOUS, and lousy customer support. A simple google search on the noise issue resulted in MANY complaints of the same nature yet customer service had ‘never heard of it before’. Apparently they aren’t too concerned with return customers. If I could give negative stars I would. BUYERS BEWARE!!!

So I bought this in May 2016 had service running at 50 megabytes went to upgrade to 300 megabytes and surprisingly doesn’t even give me over 70 megabytes. So looking to see if I can get help from this seller I will keep you posted.

Fair warning here. Do not even consider buying this product to use with Comcast, although it is an approved modem/router by this ISP. Very rarely do I have such a level of disgust with a purpose but have to do so in this case. Wish I could even rated it even lower. It has given me lots of grief; connection to the internet keeps dropping, even when my laptop is linked by directly vide Ethernet cable. My Amazon Fire Stick and Microcell (connected vide Ethernet cable) will not communicate with the modem router (can see them on my LAN but these devices were not able to connect with the internet). The MOCA network cannot be established.Have worked with tech support at Comcast, Motorola, ATT (for the Microcell) and Amazon for the last 8 months, at the very least, without success.Looking to junk this expensive piece of hardware.

I’m sure it works great on some internet providers but buyer beware. Constant drops made it unusable with Xfinity/Comcast. Arris tech support could only offer the suggestion to try different “channels” and they claimed interference from my printer or neighbors wifi was a problem. Two separate calls and that was their only answer and they had no other suggestions. Went to Comcast and got their wireless modem, no problems with their hardware So, life lesson learned and now I have a $150 paperweight. Maybe this modem could have worked with hours of research and tweaking. Not a user experience I’m looking for. Recommend you read reviews for success stories with your service provider.

Exceeds expectations! So much better than the comcast cable modem it replaced, it isn’t funny. My only regret is not changing to this sooner. Don’t miss paying comcast $10/month for a piece of equipment that in hindsight seemed set to run at half the speed I was paying for!

Purchased this modem with router because I was moving and getting cable service from Comcast. Setup was easy and it seemed to work OK at first but then I kept losing the internet. Called Arris support and after having me run some tests said it was a Comcast problem. Called Comcast and technician spent a long time checking cable and changing connectors. He even ran a new feed under my house but problem persisted. Finally he changed out the modem to a Comcast rental and everything worked fine. Returned the Arris modem for a refund and purchased another brand modem and it too worked great. Comcast charged me for the service visit because the issue was in customer owned equipment. Thanks Arris.
