Arris TM1602A DOCSIS 3.0 Telephony Cable Modem

Modem arrived quickly and in good shape. Easy to set up with Brookhaven Optimum. They automatically took the modem rental fee off my next bill before I even returned their over priced pos.

Really in good condition and works perfectly fine. I have optimum and it’s computable with it.

Have no fear. Plug in and set is quick and easy with your cable co. provider. Spectrum lets you set it up on line but you’ll need a phone or other access to the internet. Boot time and normal ops is fast. Telephony works well with no problems. The internet speed is double what we got with the Sysco cable modem. Spectrum offers this model free of charge for us and will exchange it if you run into defects or operating issues. Lightning fast, that’s the important thing. No glitches or failures so far. We’ve used Arris products in the past with success. One isolated failure with an old piece of equipment so yes, it does happen. We teamed it up with a gamer router (Netgear Nighthawk 450) and the two together work well with no issues. Download went from 60 mbps to 120. The Nighthawk can go up to 1,900 according to mfr. claims. Can definitely recommend it over the others. If you have a Sysco or other modem which isn’t giving you the full speed, the Arris is a good model model to get. If your cable co. does not provide a modem or charges a monthly fee, this is a good option. You do not want a used or refurb so watch out. Anyone who refurbs, as you see by the other reviews, could be using bad or wrong internal boards/parts, or selling defective parts. If you get it through the cable co. you will be covered. Or, if you buy it new it should work well and is covered by mfr warranty. Bottom line: Love it. Recommended.Please keep in mind it is new and if there are issues I will amend this review.

The modem worked perfectly! I used it to replace my modem from Optimum. I have had no problems with the phone and internet connections.

I was paying $5 bucks a month for my rental modem from Optimum Online, which was ok, and a total of $60 bucks a year isnt too bad to rent.But they had to get greedy. They raised my rental to $10 bucks a month. That’s when I was like “nope, ain’t aying that.”Its an Excellent idea to get your own modem. The 1602A works just the same way as the provided modem from Optimum.Excellent for the higher tier speeds, but of course will work for lower speed tiers as well.Item was indeed refurbished, with some slight scratches and marks and scuffs, but overall in good shape,I say, about B, to B minus in stock quality or so. So far, works well with no problems.

Super easy to install – especially if you are just replacing another one. Hooked it all up – called Optimum to activate and in 20 minutes I was good to go and no longer had monthly rental fees from Optimum. I did purchase a reburb for $39, just like someone else pointed out it is very likely you would be getting a refurb from the cable company. At that price it’s paid for itself in 9 months.

This modem is working well with my Optimum system, and is saving money on monthly rental fees. It is the same model number that Optimum rents for $10/month.

Works great with the Spectrum 400/20 tier, note this does have the Puma chip so may not be acceptable for gamers but for normal internet use is fine, Spectrum has upgraded these to 24 channels

This is a seamless replacement for our cable box with Cablevision/Optimum. Setup was easy and quick, seems to be working perfectly. Breakeven point is about 18 months – time will tell how reliable and durable it really is. So far, so good.

Modem works on Optimum cable network. Easy set up. Call Optimum support to give them the MAC address of the modem and in ten minutes you are up and running.

If you have Optimum. This is the modem that works. The Optimum field service techs use this modem on all accounts with 200 mps speeds and up. Don’t waste your money on other modems. If your optimum speeds are over 100 mps you will not be able to install any other modem into the account. If your speeds are 100 mps or less you can use the Arris 822 or other modems sold here. The 1602 and the 822 are voice over IP compatable. If you need phone these are the modems.

Great investment! Why lease a “used” modem from your internet provider when you can purchase a brand new – high speed modem for the same (if not less) cost. This product is just as described. Brand new-in-box. Factory packaged. Is super quick and has no issues. Thank you for providing such a great product at a fantastic price!!!!!

This item works like a charm. Ni headaches no problem. I simply call optimum to activate the phone and internet to modem and the rest is magic. This modem is super fast. So if you are tired of the lags buffering drop signals then this is the modem to get.
