Decent Router, but Does Not Support Wake on Lan. I like the ability to wake my computer and log in to it when I’m away from home, but this router does not support WOL, which is definitely a bummer. Otherwise its a decent router: Dual band, has a guest network that you can let your kids and their friends logon to. This gives them internet access, but no access to the files on your network. A few of my devices lose their wireless connection a few times a month, which is solved by simply rebooting the router. I did not have this issue with my last router though. I probably wouldn’t purchase this router again knowing that it needs to be rebooted often, and also because it doesn’t support WOL.

Works very well , I mounted it to the side of my computer cabinet to keep it cool, as I’ve read that this has heat problems. no troubles, was expecting more range, but it does what I need indoors.

Works great, good coverage, lots of features

There was some confusion about the cord, they made an effort to correct the problem, product arrived on time, works great, a dependable seller and I couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you for your time!

Router performed as expected with great wireless performance. Simple upgrade if you are on existing Linksys router. Product delivery was on time with fast prime delivery but can likely be found for cheaper

Love this router. Works great. Covers a large range in my house and my grandkids use it next door.

My dad bought this router, and then later didn’t need it so shipped it out to me. I set up HTTPS secure web management. If you do this, today, it will no longer work with the latest PC based web browsers as the certificate is invalid. You can try setting an exception, but I find with the latest firefox/chrome/IE, this no longer seems to work. So I’m left to administer the router via ipad/iphone or mac. (Safari seems to allow you to safely bypass the security still.)A google search did not reveal that Linksys/Cisco…(or whomever just bought them…)… does not offer an updated security certificate download to fix this. I will eventually probably flash this router with DD-wrt to fix this problem… but it’s my “daily driver” and I can’t afford to be down as I telecommute with it. (I have another secondary router that is newer… but thats another story). So I’m generally annoyed that this certificate issue is still not fixed by the owners of the router. If I successfully flash this with something that works better, I’ll likely post to youtube.

This router was good for five years and then bricked on me out of the blue. Better off getting Netgear

Good router but the following router is excellent and costs less http://amzn.to/1JpI05C

Solid, stable. I’ve had this for a few years now and it seldom needs restarting. However, I will ding Cisco for dropping support for the app. Some features, such as control over the guest network, are not available via the remaining web interface.

This is the second router of this model that I’ve owned. I gave the first one to a family member because I know how reliable it has been. Very happy with its performance.

I like this one better than my old Wrt45G. It was easier to configure but to scalenetwork when I went to add the expander, it didn’t quite work right. It’s a pretty good signal out of the box though and not much to configure for most houses

Bought this router when it first came out and have been very satisfied with it….until recently. I’ve had it for 3, maybe 4 years. It had worked great, but lately the router stopped maintaining an internet connection. After massive troubleshooting with Comcast and then disconnecting the router by plugging my computer directly into the cable modem, it was easily determined that the router was the culprit.Needlesstosay, I am pretty disappointed in the longevity of the product. Linksys should be ashamed. I have used it continuously for 3-4 years, but I’d expect it to last longer at the price this thing runs. Shame on you Linksys.I’m not sure whether to go with Asus or stick with Linksys on the next wireless router at this point.

Great router. I have two of them. They are reliable. Great speed. I never needed the variable speed router with up to 10 kids using cell phones, a PS3 and two PCs connected to the router. The E3000 Maintained high speed on all devices at the same time.

Great router, works excellente in my home…

I bought this router in February of 2011 and it worked great for 4 years….until 4-5 months ago. I would notice that it reset itself every once in a while. It happened more and more – then started requiring a hard power off. Well it gave up a few weeks ago, and now the light showing that it is connected to the internet isn’t even on. So it had a slow death. It was easy to set up – even for my first experience with Wi-Fi. Worked great for 3 1/2 years with just my laptop and printer. About 6 months ago I installed a Sonos system which greatly increased the Wi-Fi usage. I also started using Wi-Fi on my phone around that time. It was dead in 6 months.

This router worked great. I had 2 laptops and a PS3 connected to it. I bought it in November 2010 and it finally went out in March 2015. It did put out a lot of heat.
Steve –
Not particularly happy with the reliability of this product. After two years of consistent usage, it died, completely loosing the settings and fails to connect, even after a hard reset (which should clear variables). I kept in a ventilated closet, but definitely the device might of heated up over time. In my opinion (as an electrical engineer) devices should not fail over time, even with heat, if they are being designed for reliability. The center-most product in your network should be designed for high reliability.
Nigel Hardy –
Works as it should. I put dd-wrt on it.
JMac –
Used this router for many years. I cannot complain about the performance. I did upgrade due to adding additional wireless cameras which need a stronger signal due to their distance from the router. Overall this is a great product.
Alex –
Very decent device! I have been using it for 4 years! I had to restart it maybe 3 or 4 times in 4 years but other then that not a single glitch.

There are better Routers out there today

Wonderful, dependable router with very good range for an older router! We have a single story 1,100 sq ft home and it reaches all areas of the house well, and even works out in the big 1/3 acre back yard! Have used this router heavily for 4 years straight with a family of iPhones, desktop computer, 2 laptops, and a few gaming systems too. Happy to say, it hasn’t let me down. It did get hit with a power surge a few weeks ago & that has caused it to hiccup just a bit. I had to re-setup everything…. But once that was done correctly it been fine again. Otherwise it has never had any issues at all, no dropped service, no need to power off/on, just a good Solid router! Unfortunately I need something more significant and upto date now that my kids are starting highschool and college with online classes andwenowstream TV as well. Gotta say that I’m really gonna miss this tough old dependable router!! HAVE LOVED IT FOR YEARS!!

The E3000 just works. I recommend technology for a number of remote workers all using a variety of resources from a central location including VoIP and this has become my go-to over the years as it just simply works, works well, and doesn’t randomly flake out. The same can’t be said for some of the other Linksys offerings. As all things go, the product line marches on and these stalwart units are replaced with newfangled ones that are supposed to better but are not.
L. Stearns –
Good product, still working fine after many years.
Austin White –
Bought used because it was much cheaper back in 2014. At which point it was already a product that was at least 3 years old. it has lasted me about three years and today after a bit of researched I found it has been “bricked”. Which basically means its fried I think. Had a bad storm here and I guess the power must have went out though wasn’t at home at the time. Even though it was plugged into a surge protector it must have still been overloaded.Nothing wrong with it, not the fastest speeds but it worked well on 2 or 3 devices at a time. But it is time to upgrade.
natured –
still using it after 9 years. Amazing

I bought this at a brick and mortar store so I won’t show up as a verified purchase. I didn’t know didly about routers but the guy who was setting up my entertainment center said I needed a better router so I ran up to the store and bought this one. I have since educated myself about routers. Seven and a half years is WAY past replacement time but the damn thing refuses to die and for what I use it for there’s no cause for replacement. I won’t judge the WiFi signal strength because I live in a high rise that’s made of concrete and steel; so, signal strength in the other rooms suffer, of that there is no doubt but I wonder if any other router wouldn’t have the same problem. I worked around it by buying some AV500 Powerline modules (again years ago, 1st generation) and hard wiring everything from the modules. The reason this thing gets five stars is because IT WON’T DIE! Listen, I wouldn’t necessarily buy this model again. Let’s face it there are better routers with better and newer technology available but I’m giving it such a high rating simply on serviceability. I mean I think I got my money’s worth.
