I needed a simple, but reliable router for my network. The main purpose of this router was because my firewall would not capture the Client Names when it assigned clients a DHCP address. I had previously purchased and installed one of these for the office I work for and had no problems with it. The first router I received stayed in Diagnostic mode when booted up could not be accessed, so it was returned. The second one I received I was able to configure fine. The two initial problems were when logging into the web panel, it showed the connection wasn’t secure. I researched this issue and found many people had the same issue and it had to do with the certificate from Cisco. Since it was behind the firewall, I wasn’t too concerned about it. The second issue involved the Client Table that shows all the DHCP addresses the router has assigned to include the client names. The table was empty and not displaying anything. I then decided to download the latest firmware and once the firmware was installed it showed the Client Table – briefly. When I went to another screen and went back to the Client Table screen the information was missing again. I rebooted the router, tried different browsers and researched the forums to find many other people had the same problem and Cisco had no resolution to the issue. So, since I couldn’t see what clients are assigned DHCP addresses, which was what I needed, it is being returned. Also be aware that this router only has a 50 DHCP IP address limit. This was fine for me, but it could be an issue for others that may not be aware. Image of empty Client Table attached to this review.
