I installed the Google WiFi about two months ago and it is 100% reliable, took 10 minutes to install, another 5 to update my laptop and other household connections (cameras, printers) and everything has been great. They are attractive and I have placed them throughout my house. The mesh requires nothing else for me to do as it is seamless from upstairs bath to detached garage. This product works and I have used a lot of wifi routers. Linksys fan from way back but began having problems with it about a year ago when it would drop the connections several times a day. You will like this easy to use product that you can monitor from anywhere.

Just Awesome. I was flushing my money in drain using tplink router. I was blaming my ISP on speed cheat but it’s my router. See the speed shot up soon I configure GoogleMesh.

We had had everyday internet connection problems since we moved to a new apartment. I am talking about constant disconnects and very low speeds in any room other then the one where the ISP wifi router was located. I tried returning the modem-router to the provider and replacing it with their cutting edge panoramic one, purchasing a bunch of wifi extenders, nothing would work good enough. My son is a gamer and he had been constantly complaining about how bad the wireless network in our apartment was. With the Google wifi mesh network the nightmare was gone. I am going to attach a few screenshots. The first couple of them show 4 measurements before and 4 measurements after installing the Google wifi network. The third and fourth screencaps show the increase in speed in the modem DL and UL speeds after I upgraded my plan. From the 5th and 6th picture you can tell the transfer speeds next to the main router and in the most distant bedroom.

Holy moly this was a super easy system to install. It took me like 5 minutes to install, and that included the updates and other stuff going on in the background.Once I got it up and running, I tested the WiFi. 223 mbps download. I pay for 200 mbps through time warner and have only ever gotten up to about 97 mbps. I have noticed a difference too.Hulu and Netflix work super fast. I work from home and sometimes work in the living room so having whole home WiFi with Google Mesh is the best. My husband can now also use WiFi in the garage, which comes in handy when fixing cars.Everything connects seamlessly and beautifully. I can see what devices are running what and if I need to make a device a priority. Our house is 1850 sq ft so I could have just gotten one device but having three makes the house WiFi better.I love that if my family comes over, they can get their own WiFi and I can set a password that will be easy to remember. If you are thinking about getting this or on the fence, get it! I’m going to buy one for my mother in law since she has multiple dead zones in her house.

I’ve only recently installed this at home but so far so good.SETUP:Our particular setup and equipment is as follows.ATT 5268AC Pace Router -> Google WiFi hub -> 2 Google WiFi pucksATT Fiber InternetPrinter/Windows PC/Synology NAS ethernet connection to Google WiFi hub via switchPhillips Hue hub and Vantage Vue Davis weather station ethernet connection to ATT routerApple TV x 2Nest cameras x 6 and Nest thermostats x 2Ring doorbell and Ring chimeGoogle HomeAmazon Alexa x 4Phillips Hue lightbulbsSeveral iPhone and Android phonesMac laptop, iPad and KindleRachio smart sprinklerINSTALLATION:I decided NOT to put my 5268AC Pace router in bridge mode. I simply disabled the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi channels on the 5268AC router and then connected the Google WiFi hub to the 5268AC router using the provided ethernet cable. Make sure you plug the ethernet cable from your router into the correct port on the Google WiFi hub (there is a LAN and WAN port), I initially plugged mine into the wrong one and wasted time troubleshooting before I realized my silly mistake.Installation using the phone app (I have an iPhone 7 Plus) was a breeze and the Google WiFi hub and 2 satellite pucks were installed in around 10-15 minutes. I decided to setup the Google WiFi using the same SSID and password as my old ATT WiFi network, this will allow all your devices to automatically reconnect once Google WiFi is up and running. The Google WiFi hub sits about 2 feet away from my 5268AC router on the 1st floor office, which is in the corner of our house, not an ideal location for a router. One satellite puck was installed on the same floor in a bedroom at the opposite corner of the house, about 30-40 ft away. The second satellite puck was installed downstairs in a room almost underneath where the main Google WiFi hub sits.WIFI SIGNAL AND RECEPTION:I ran a few tests using the Speedtest app on my phone:- In the same room as the main hub I am getting 308 Mbps down/195 Mbps up- Bonus room next door 184/135- The next two bedrooms down the hallway get 185-200 down/150-200 up- As I move to the far opposite corner of the house (where the first puck is located) I am getting 101/85- In the living room downstairs near the second puck I am getting 125/118- The guest bedroom downstairs (furthest away from any of the pucks and main hub) is getting 51/35, and those speeds stay constant as I move further away out into the garageThe downstairs puck is located on the left hand side of our house and managed to push a WiFi signal across to our guest bedroom, garage and out onto the driveway which is right at the other side of the house, a good 40-50ft away, through two walls, so very happy with that.According to the Google WiFi app the puck in the upstairs bedroom had OK reception and the puck downstairs had great reception. Our house is 3600 sq feet and we now have good or excellent wifi coverage everywhere.SMART DEVICES:Even though my Phillips Hue hub is connected to the ATT 5268AC router I’m still able to control the lights using Alexa, which is connected to the Google WiFi network. My printer, PC and NAS I have wired into the back of the Google WiFi hub since devices like my printer were unreachable plugged into my old ATT router due to double NAT issues. All my other smart devices automatically connected to the new WiFi since I setup Google WiFi using the same SSID and password as my old ATT WiFi. There were several devices I had to reconnect manually and that was due to them using a dedicated 5Ghz SSID name that I had setup on my old ATT router.OVERALL:My primary goal was solid, reliable WiFi rather than blazing fast speeds and so far I’ve achieved that. Previously my Nest cams would disconnect multiple times a day with the old ATT 5268AC router, and so far with Google WiFi I’ve not seen that issue. The iOS app is pretty good. A few times when opening the app it has reported that Google WiFi was down (which is not the case) and I was able to resolve that by navigating to another section of the app and then back again. This seemed to occur after recently connecting a new device to the WiFi network. I like how I can view all devices connected to the network, whether they’re using the 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz channel, which puck they’re connected to, and being able to rename the devices in the list to something more suitable, some of the names can be a bit cryptic. It is still very early days for me, typically I find issues in hardware tend to arise after 4-6 months, so only time will tell if this is a good investment or not. But initial thoughts are promising.

If I could give these a 20 star review I would. I have purchased two Google Mesh systems for both of my houses. In one of my houses the internet is sad slow. I connected my Google Mesh and it took my internet from a snail’s pace to super fast! Check my pics. It shows the before and after speed tests I ran. You can see that my internet speed WAY up! I did not expect such an amazing improvement! WOW! Will never go back!

I live in Florida, and just dumped my cable company( xfinity) and went to a phone company that offers fiber to the home (centurylink)for those of you wondering if i needed PPPOE or whatever it was to work, I did not as in Florida, fiber via the company i use is DHCP authentication and not the PPPOEI came from an Apple Airport Extreme, they no longer update/ support it so it was time to move on as my increase in bandwidth and the need for more range at the other end of my home was growing, I have a TV that will not get enough to stream netflix/ primethe setup is easy as it can get, download an app, take a few pic’s after making connections and you’re up and runningclose in speed( less than 5 feet) on a 1 gig fiber line that gets 940 hardwired showed 450 to my iphone 7as you get further away from the main unit the speed drop’s off but i expected it to still be over 300 as i would be on another mesh point, however speeds dipped below 200my home site is 80 ft wide and 120 deep, so my house is roughly 60 ft wide. I have the fiber entering on one side of the house, and connected to the main unit( any of the 3 you get can operate as a main unit) we have a decent size great room/ kitchen as its open the second access point is placed about 30 feet away from the main unit, no walls separating and they are line of sight, the third unit is another 20 feet away in our master bedroom and as 2 walls separating it. Our home is 2300 square feet, 1 floor, concrete block home that was built in the 90’sI have 25 devices and they all have good signal and all of them work, nest cam, orbit sprinkler, nest thermostat, nest protects, fire tv, apple tv, ipads, iphones, an alarm system that has a few more camera’s, 3 smart tv’s, a few echo dot’spolycom wired phone in my home office, mixed apple and PC environment… it all works and plays well with each otherour main unit is under the TV in the living room, placing a phone or tablet on the entertainment center will net you 450 down , moving 10 feet from it to the couch and your still 400 down, but that’s about where the great speed ends in my home, I move back another 10 feet to my kitchen island and were down to 300 down, I am now closer to the 2nd mesh point than the main one. the worst speed that i get will be in the master bedroom that is 50 feet from the main, and i get 180 down, I am about 5 feet from the third point getting that result. With the airport on my old 150 speed i would get 30 in the master so its defiantly an upgrade as i have gained 150 mbps with the new ISP and Wifi router, but i expected more as the app from google shows great connectivity between all the points, its supposed to support 850mbps on 5g and having “great” listed as the signal strength i expected less of a speed dropI am no expert but with 1 gig coming in, i expected 400+ to be the speed i saw across most of the house considering its much newer technology than the airport and 2 of the 3 points are line of sight and all 3 are less than 30 feet from each other… maybe I am expecting too much but the main reason i went to mesh was to improve the TV that is furthest from the main unit and that has workedI have orderd a TP link Deco m9 as that is an AC2200 vs the google wifi at AC1200I hope that with the third radio for dedicated backhaul Ill see the speeds i want in all areas of my home.. Ill update what i keep and what gets returnedUpdate 3/1/2019I set up the TP-Link and lost wired speeds, they dropped from the mid 900’s to the high 600’s and it’s WiFi performance wasn’t much better than the google WiFiI have added pics to show speed across my house, the higher the speed the closer I am to the main node, the lower speeds are on the 3rd node furthest from the main node( 60+ feet, walls and appliances in the way) and still getting 200+

I’ve always had poor internet throughout my house. After doing some research I decided to land on this system. And I couldn’t be happier. The first two pictures are of my speed tested with my old system. The fastest speed is right next to the point. The slowest is from the farthest point in my house. The last picture is of Google WiFi all taken from different points in my house over a couple days. And as you can see it’s much more consistent.

I’ve decided to buy this router because my old one was starting to malfunction. This router was recommended to me by my friend who is computer engineer for entire board of ed in NYC.I have never seen easier setup router then this Google product. All I had to do is connect power and Ethernet cables, download the app my my phone and Google WiFi did entire setup on it’s own in less then 5 min.All I had to do is setup network name and password. After connecting it to my Comcast modem, now I have exactly the same WiFi speed as I was cable connected with my modem. I have now 120Mbps Download over Google WiFi. I have never seen any router work so great.Very important feature for me was ability to setup Guest Network to separate my computer from other devices on my network. This allows me to have better security on my network. For those that have kinds – great feature to setup network for kids and shut wifi at set time.Over all it’s perfect WiFi router for my entire house. I could not be more happier with this purchase.

    Customer – February 19, 2019

My old router was 7 years old and my internet was so slow I often had to disconnect from WiFi just to scroll through Facebook or watch a YouTube video. A “gamer” friend of mine helped pick this out for me when I said I needed a new router, as I am not tech savvy whatsoever. He set it up in minutes and I love having the app to manage my WiFi now. Also my connection is now lightning fast. I put this router in my living room and thought I may need a second one for upstairs, but even up there or in the basement I have no connectivity issues whatsoever. Highly recommend!

First off, this is a very straightforward and simple installation. I don’t know why it says a modem is required, I do not have a modem and my system works great. I plug the primary unit directly into the Ethernet from my ISP, NO MODEM NEEDED. For the first couple months of service, the product worked really well. Super fast connections, testing, monitoring devices and setting up a visitor channel is a breeze. Then came the update. After an update, one of the hubs was offline for about a month. Google support was helpful, but some of their methods were a waste of time and I ended up doing a factory reset on one of the devices; which fixed the problem. Overall, a great product. You don’t need a modem, I hate that it says it’s required. Makes no sense.

I bought these to replace my AirPort Extreme + Airport Express. I never noticed a huge difference, but they seemed to work well enough in my house, which is a long ranch style house. However after less than 2 years, 2 of the 3 power cords have exposed cable. Google support was less than helpful, basically telling me to go out and find my own USB-C power cords to replace them, even though there is an obvious design flaw with their strain relief on the cord.

We bought these as a mesh system for the Google On Hub. Set up required a call to tech support. The agent was great and it didn’t take long. The error said they were out of range even when plugged right next to the On Hub. It was a simple fix but save yourself the time troubleshooting and simply call. I have had full signal strength in all areas of my home since installing which has never happened. Thank you Google!!!3000 sq ft. 2 stories. 1 On Hub. 3 access points. Will purchase more for our basement hard wiring one. (All have a port to hard wire if needed.) right now, only our Google Hub is hard wired.Hope this helps.

I have had problems with my WiFi for years. My internet provider recommended the Google Mesh system to me. It is a little pricey, but when my kids are watching cartoons from the Roku apps and the cartoons don’t freeze, that is priceless to me!!!During installation I received errors on the application that the points did not install correctly. I went on anyways and finished installing all three. For reasons unknown to me the installation was actually a success and my WiFi has been perfect ever since.

Ok, I was a bit skeptical, since I always used Apple’s WiFi routers in the past. After I got a new Internet provider and a whooping ‘up to 400Mbps speed’ with it, getting only a 100Mbps on my wireless devices felt like a waste. It was time to upgrade. I honestly didn’t expect much I just wanted at least more than a 100mbps on WiFi.This little guy got delivered two days later, and after a 10 minute set-up, which was mostly downloading updates, really, I finally got to measure my wireless speed. Lo and behold: it’s over 400Mbps, by air! The future is now, and I am more than satisfied with this router, which, btw, not only performs well, it also looks very cute on my shelf.

I’m thrilled with this product. I previously had 2 wifi routers and 4 powerline convertors in my home, all gone now and I just have 3 sleek and good looking Google wifi units. My internet speed has jumped dramatically throughout the house, currently running at 170 Mbps in a distant corner of my house where I am typing this review. No more spinning wheels if I watch Netflix. Previously I thought the problem was with my cable internet feed coming into the house, but it clearly was not. I was also debating between buying this product or a competitor’s, but I think I made the right choice.

I finally purchased these after several days of research, and I’m sorry I didn’t do it sooner! Bear in mind that we’re casual users… We stream the occasional movie and we check email, etc. I don’t have a major network or anything fancy.Immediately this system more than quadrupled our speeds in the house. Granted, our router was a little dated and needed replaced, but this was a huge boost for us.I intended to wire them in for backhaul chatter, but I don’t think I will, or at least not as soon as I was going to.

I purchased these new from woot.com. Was super excited to try them. I already had good speeds in my house with current gateway from xfinity. As you can see from the picture, the one with upload speeds in 170’s is from cable provider. The other picture is from the google WiFi. I really wanted these to give me the same speed mainly in my basement. I was very disappointed with this system. I tried multiple configurations from the app. I even spoke with their customer service. I will be returning.

I got the google WiFi mesh network due to internet issues I was having at my 1800sqft house. I have multiple Hue lights that were on the edge of my WiFi network and was having issues with connecting to them. I was also having issues with speed drop off on the previous WiFi network I had. Before I bought the google mesh network I had also considered the linksys mesh. The google network was easy to setup and have not had one issue at all with it since I got it. It was also better priced than the linksys.

I have had Verizon Fios gigabit connection for 2 years now. Kept complaining about the speeds i was getting to Verizon and you know how that goes.Bought this Google wifi system and am now getting speeds that are seriously unreal. On the POS Verizon wifi router I was getting about 60mbps, as you can see in the image i am now getting 600+mbps download speeds.Easy setup with the google app and nice features that allow you to turn off devices as certain times and even get some devices priority for a certain amount of time.THANK YOU GOOGLE!!!!!

I had an Apple Airport Extreme that was not succeeding in spreading the wifi signals to our bedroom at the opposite end of the house 70 feet away. I purchased a TP Link extender hoping to fix the issue, but that did not help at all. I returned that and splurged on the Google Wifi 3 pack system and replaced my old router. I can’t believe how easy it was to set up and how I have 5 bars even outside in my yard. It really is seamless transitioning from room to room and because of the mesh system, the 2nd and 3rd points offer the same amount of coverage. The photo shows one with the light set to off. Even though it is in a confined space, it doesn’t have any issues.I highly recommend spending the extra to solve all your wifi needs with this system!

Definitely a step up from my older Netgear router! I only purchased 1 Google WiFi for my 1300 sq ft house, and I have full WiFi signal on every piece of equipment that is hooked up to it in every location, and they all work flawlessly – 3 cell phones,5 roku’s, nvadia shield, iPad, 2 laptops, smart bulbs, smart plugs, Alexa, Android speaker etc etc. The 4k movies look 4k now!! In the past my 4k looked horrible.

    Anthony Fragola – July 5, 2019

The description states that this router will monitor WIFI traffic and automatically adjust the WIFI frequency to your devices accordingly. This feature does not work, I had almost no speed on all the 2.4 connected devices in my home (though they all had great signal). I called the Google helpline 2 times and spent hours on the phone with them, their customer service reps do not fully understand the product enough , or have enough technical experience to fully understand the issue I was having, they just were reading instructions off the computer telling me to do hard resets and such. Lastly I was told to do some tests and send the results to their tech support email, 2 days later and still no response. Unplugged the google WIFI and hooked my netgear router back up, Perfect speed to all devices. DO NOT BUY THIS ROUTER IF YOU HAVE ANY DEVICES THAT ARE NOT CAPABLE OF 5G CONNECTIONS!Edit: Received a response, added screen shots.

I’m a little older so attribute any technical difficulties in setting up to that. I did have some minor issues probably from not following the directions exactly. Signal is great over 3 floors. I have optimum and there download speed is 200 Mbps. Just ran a test on the WiFi and attaching a screenshot of it.

I went from an awesome Ubee Gateway to Google wifi and to be honest it solved all my issues. I started to get wifi connectivity issues and Xbox and PS4 controller disconnects with my Ubee that lasted me a good 5 years. I started looking around and Google wifi mesh sold me! The unit was easy to install and ever since I have had absolutely zero disconnects, buffering, controller or wifi issues! The app is great and being able to adjust settings and get updates via the app comes in handy. I keep seeing reviews downing the fact that Google wifi controls which device goes to 5ghz to 2.4ghz and I think that’s one of the best features! It seamless connects or reconnects your devices from 2.4 to 5ghz depending on a lot of factors including traffic and range. The wifi coverage is absolutely amazing and I only bought 1 puck! I can get coverage everywhere in my house and outside the house and garage with zero issues. I’m just blown away with how good this small wifi router is. I was hesitant getting this system because wifi 6 is coming later this year. The more I thought about it, the devices that support wifi 6 will be years away , so by the time wifi 6 is huge it will probably be time to go to the next rendition of Google wifi with wifi 6. Literally the only device I have that supports wifi 6 is my brand new Galaxy S10. So waiting on wifi 6 is no problem at all. In conclusion I have to say that I really have no cons for this system. Its is beautifully made and looks great anywhere u put it! They have mounts and many options on Amazon for wall mounts etc. Google wifi is a great option for homes less than1500sq ft and beyond! The range is unreal and the quality is absolutely amazing! Very impressive system! I bought another puck and didn’t even need it! One puck covers 1500sqft easily! I like having the option of extending my wifi so I’m gonna keep the 2nd puck. If u are on the fence about Google wifi dont be! It’s the best bang for your buck!

We were running TP-Link wifi routers. Main wifi router in basement and the other (converted to an access point) in the living room. Had netgear plugin extender on patio. Network timed out often. Download speeds via wifi were around 23mb 40mb out of 100mb cable package. Receiving 85mb out of 100mb now. Hopefully it will continue.. First day of setup. Sonos responds quicker also!

My house is built on the side of a hill, so it is essentially “tall” rather than “wide” (4 stories counting basement) and so the trick was to get a good signal through floors and ceilings. This completely solved the problem. See attached speedtest (from the pod placed in the basement… the actually router is far away. It works great.NOW, for those who have advanced needs almost always involving gaming and tework permissions issues, this is usable, but you need to know something about networks to use such advanced functionality. But I am happy with it and use it right out of the box. And I’m not on a “honeymoon” high. I’ve had mine about a year now. It was a game changer.

I bought a three pack. 2 of the 3 stopped working. The first one went out one at 8 months. After troubleshooting, I called Customer Care, which was condescending and unhelpful. They agreed to replace the device as a “one time” offer. More than three months later after multiple emails to collect on this offer, Google simply backed out, saying the device was now out of warranty. The second one went out in the middle of all of this at 11 months. The app works well, though I have found other apps (Xfinity’s even) to be easier to use when it comes to creating family schedules and setting up. Other apps have caught up and have similar and in some cases even better features. I’m going back to the Eero devices which have a better app and setup experience. They still work even though bought them before buying Google Wifi.

Wow! I’ve been frustrated with our WiFi, especially in our 1st floor basement area. We have a 3 story 2700 sqft home. WiFi coverage was spotty and slow, even work a ranger extender. The further you get from the source of the modem on the 2nd floor, to worse it got. I did minimal research but enough to feel comfortable buying Google WiFi. If it didn’t work, I could just return it. WOW! So easy to setup and great results. My wifi doubled and tripled. I’ve never seen speeds over 60mb in my house. Now it’s over 110mb! I’m not a Network IT guy so I needed something simple and effective. This was it. I highly recommend this product!

Easy to install, troublesome to work because it was not reset from the factory. I learned this from the support person in California. The call took over two hours to remedy. Eventually, I had all three units working. Entry point of Internet was 456 Mbps as advertised by spectrum. Testing the mesh, only produced 50 Mbps. Unacceptable!

This is a great mesh router system, especially for the money. Our last wifi router was almost 6 years old but it was top of the line at the time that we purchased it. I’m amazed at the improvement that getting these has had. Our internet became twice as fast overnight both over wifi and over ethernet. Having a 3 router mesh system for us also means that we get a reliable wifi signal on our second floor and in the backyard. Our old single router did not have enough range to provide our phones with a fast and reliable wifi signal. Plus the app is great because you can see every device that’s connected and you can choose to prioritize a device. And if you have kids you can limit how much they can use the Wi-Fi. The app walks you through the setup and it made it very easy.

    Joe G – August 19, 2019

Set up was easy and the wifi signal was great. But I can’t find a way to get my phone on the 2.4ghz channel so I can connect a bunch of smart home devices. Google support isn’t helpful and neither are device manufacturers.Update: after a bunch of searching I found a workaround to get older smart devices set up and running again. I reconfig’d my old, dual band router to act as an access point on the mesh network. Voila. Everything works again. Whew.

I just finally decided to upgrade to a mesh system for our 2500sq brick home built in 1970 and I wish I did it sooner. I bought two systems to try and the Google system was the winner because it was cheaper, more options, and just as good of coverage if not better. Previously I had just your normal Asus router in my living room and it only did a decent job in the living room. The rest of the house was spotty and much slower speeds. We have a 200meg plan thru spectrum and in the living room, we would get those speeds but the rest of the house much worse. Now with the Google Wifi I get 230 down in the whole house over and even on our 1.25 acre property I get 50-100 down. Highly recommend.

I used to have an Apple roaming network in my 3 story home in the San Francisco Bay Area (crowded wifi). But the most annoying thing about that Apple setup is that when we would move between floors, our laptops would “stick” to the last device it connected to since we have the same SSID broadcasted throughout the house.I bought these Google pucks and haven’t experienced that problem at all in a mixed wired / mesh environment. I have 3 wired with Ethernet as a “backhaul” and one in the garage as mesh.We also have the following “smart” devices:Nest ThermostatNest Fire AlarmsWink home automationRing DoorbellSamsung SmartcamAll of them didn’t have issues reconnecting after I renamed the new network the same as the old. In other words, I just created the Google network to have the same SSID.Tips:See the video for extensive tips, but I would recommend using DHCP on all devices, but reserving the IP using the Google router. Keep in mind each puck is identical, the first one will act as the router, and the rest as part of the mesh network.Even though I loved my Apple network (other than the sticky client issue) – I’m very happy I upgraded to this system since it provides consistent wifi throughout my home.

Love this mesh system!BEFORE:Had a Belkin AC1200 before. Speed tests showed 41Mbps download 4.5 upload, standing right next to the router.NOW:In the furthest corner of my house I’m getting over 150 Mbps down and 10 upload… Close to the router, I’m getting over 200 Mbps download!Setup was extremely easy. Plug in, download app on phone, scan the QR code, and click next two or three times, Done! The app is amazing, made a profile for each of my kids wifi enabled devices, can now disable their wifi with a single click as needed. Can also set curfew times for their wifi.Truly upset that I didn’t get this sooner.Things to note(based on other reviews I read):-This is not a modem so make sure that you have a modem of your own… Or supplied by your internet service provider.-The light that is on the router can be turned down via the app so it doesn’t keep you awake(those people must sleep with their eyes open because the light is not that bright to begin with)-if counterspace is limited, seriously consider buying the mounts that hold the router on a power outlet. They make cable management and choosing a place for the router very easy.

I have been using the Velop AC2200 (WHW03) for the last 6 months but came across a Google Mesh AC1200 (AC1304) for cheap so I thought I buy it, compare the two speeds and stay with the better performing unit and sell the loser on eBay.We pay for 500mbps Down and 20 Up from Xfinity. With the Velop (which I used 3 units in 3000 sqft house), I was getting just over 300mbps Down and 17mbps up near the main unit on both their 5ghz band and 200mbps near the added on 2nd and 3rd unit. With Google wifi, I was blown away when I saw I am getting 521mbps Down (more than I pay for) and 20mbps up near the main unit and 300 down and 20 up near the added 2nd and 3rd unit. Not only that, I noticed I only needed 2 units with the Google, while I felt I needed all 3 with the Velop.Google is the hands-down winner in speeds (which is my main judging factor), look better and a breeze to set up.With that, the Linksys Velop unit is currently on eBay being sold. I also sold the 3rd Google unit on eBay as well (which sold within an hour of posting it) since I only needed two of the three-pack I purchased. I will make out like a bandit when they all sell. While the Google unit sold immediately in my eBay store for $80, the Velop has been listed for 2 days at the same price and has not sold. So I’d say that’s another win for the Google system in resell value.

As you can see it’s unplugged! It’s because I can use only one of them since Google is incapable of fix a bug (since October 2019) which prevent the usage of casting devices on a mesh network (Google’s own stuff by the way). You can find more details looking at the community on Reddit and Google community.

We have two story 3,400 sq ft house, have Google Fiber, and were unable to get a decent strength throughout the house. We installed the Google WiFi system (3 pack) and have strong coverage throughout the house now.I recommend you purchase the FoMass (3 Pack) outlet hangers for your data points – see the picture for an example. (We only used 2 because the first data point plugs directly into the router and sits on the television console.)

Super fast internet again! My old router was getting worn out and constantly loosing signal. Got this and love it. It’s so easy and quick to set up. Just download the app and your almost there after you get it plugged in. I do wish the range was a bit further. For a 1500 sq feet house I loose signal sometimes at the ends, and I don’t want to buy more units. But the speeds are so fast! Plus it is cosmetically pretty too, goes good on the entertainment center. Thanks google!
