I was pinging 250Mbps with my old router but now I’m getting over 400 Mbps with the same service. Plus the range is so much better. Worth the money. I have Time Warner 300Mbps package.

EXCEPTIONAL!I had an older Motorola modem/router that would barely give me 20Mbps (download speed) when in the same room, but it would drop to 0.08Mbps just one room over.Wi-Fi extenders would bring the signal to maybe 12Mbps in the adjacent room. This model (MG7550) gives me THROUGOUT the house (1850 sqft) 59+Mbps (see photo). I am paying for 50Mbps, download speed.I highly recommend this modem/router (Wi-Fi range extenders are going back!)

Changing over to new modem and Install was a breeze. I’m currently on xfinity’s 25mb plus 200 speed boost plan. I used to run xfinity’s most current modem but could never get really decent speeds especially with the WiFi even with tweaking settings the best i could. I used to average 20-60mbps down which is decent but not good enough for me. With the current setup, I’m getting 200+ consistently. First pic is on PC hardwired, the 2nd is on wifi on my phone, and 3rd is on my older ps4 hardwired. I’m assuming the ps4 is getting slower speeds due to the 100ft cat cable and it’s also sharing the line with the home security camera system. I’m satisfied!I forgot to upload my speed tests screenshots

Wonderful modem/Wifi. It’s a fast router that works great with Comcast. My ooma works the best with this router and is very stable with voip right out of the box. 2.4 has good range but 5GHz is best at a shorter range. This is not out of the ordinary for the 5 GHz band. In addition, this router boots up fast! My Comcast router took 5 minutes to reboot. This Motorola is very good in many other areas like port forwarding. So far, I’m happy with this device because it just works with minimal effort. I would recommend it to anyone.

My old router and modem combo was no longer cutting it. My internet provider was bought out and must not have been fully compatible. I had lots of dropped signals and streaming videos was a nightmare.I got this combo unit and no more issues. I like how I can connect just the tv to 5ghz for less interference. Finally got my fast and hassle free WiFi back.It works well and is not an eyesore on the bookshelf. It’s also nice how there’s a button to turn on and off if you need to do so without unplugging.

****EDITED REVIEW*****After 2 weeks the MG7550 started dropping out, the 5G band wouldn’t connect even if in the same room sometimes, or the minute I went around a corner 10 feet away it would disappear from my list of available WiFi networks. Called Motorola, reset modem, same issues. Streaming from my FireTV became an issue, I tried to unplug my ethernet from Amazon FTV and I was unable to go wireless due to severe connection issues. I had to use my 2.4G band for everything, which worked ok and the only reason I gave 3 stars. This modem may have just been a lemon, but after some research it seemed like a modem with more downstream channels(Netgear C7000v2 with 24 channels as opposed to 16 for Motorola) would do better, even though both are AC1900. Although Netgear has known issues with security breaches on some models, the C7000 isn’t one of them and has been much better than the Motorola. It has higher bandwidth limits on both frequencies and I pull over 800M on 5G when in the same room as the modem. Even upstairs I can get up to 500+ with no range extender. My FireTV is blasting crazy fast now with no connection issues on WiFi. Motorola has long been a reliable name, but I’ll be looking elsewhere in the future. This is the Docsis 3 modem/router to get if you have Internet up to 250M, it has dual channel 2.4/5GHz as well which is useful. I’ve used Motorola Surfboad modems for years with different ISPs and they’ve always been reliable and low maintenance. I wish I had bought this a long time ago, I couldn’t figure out why the 150M I’m paying for (actually almost 190M my ISP is pumping in was degrading into 15M and often single digit bandwidth at peak times after going from cable modem to router, even with Ethernet cable running directly from router to computer. I had my cable modem replaced, put new splitters on, reset my modem and router constantly, yada yada. Just figured that was how it worked. I had a flash of brilliance(rare for me) while talking to tech support one night while trying to speedtest my system with my PC directly hardwired from the modem. After testing at 180M, it hit me that using the router as middleman in my system was killing my bandwidth. Even with VPN running, I’m still clocking anywhere from 95 – 150M on PC most of the time which is ridiculous overkill for my needs anyway. (Photo on the left is VPN off running full strength, right is with VPN turned on).Although not inexpensive, I figure it will pay for itself soon enough between losing the cost of paying ISP for cable modem(which by the way for anyone who’s never looked hard at the bill is way overpriced and it always pays to buy your own) and actually getting the bandwidth I’m paying for, so 2 birds 1 stone…..Not to mention I drastically consolidated the hot sloppy mess of wires, cords and plugs going everywhere. So this modem/router is a triple threat;-)Puts out good bandwidth and coverage throughout my 2k+ square foot hut, I’m actually reading stronger bandwidth(600-700M) on 5GHz channel than I was with my Linksys AC2600 EA8500 MuMo dual channel router, which is really a business-class tool anyway, so even more upside to replacing my setup. The Motorola is right near my Amazon FireTV which is showing similar speed even with VPN enabled, way more firepower than necessary to run 1080p or 4k video streams with no buffering or delays. While being pretty tech savvy I’m no IT guy, but out of the box this thing pretty much set itself up automatically, I had my internet back up and cranking in less than 15 minutes. The controls are simple and intuitive, you can turn Wi-Fi off and on from the back of the router, etc. The only thing I wish it had that the old Surfboards used to is an internet kill switch in case someone hacks you or a virus gets in your system. But it does have a power off/on button, so you can shut down the internet without having to unplug it. Not a big deal anyway but convenient. This modem/router combo is simple, compact, super effective and brilliant. The only think it lacks is capability for phone in case you have that included in your cable package, but seeing as how no one under 85 has a landline anymore that probably won’t be an issue, and they may make one that does if you need that included. The router is protected with the latest and best security protocols(WPA2-PSK w/AES encryption). I bet tons of people are experiencing the same situation as I was but don’t even know it or just put up with it. Do yourself a favor – go Motorola, simplify your equipment, sit back and enjoy the speed.

So the modem works as expected. Much better than the 6 year old product in replaced. However, the sipping could be improved. I received the shipment and it was just the standard box, as if I went to a store and bought it. The worst part was, the box wasn’t even taped, so the flap could have come loose. The box had some slight damage but the modem is performing correctly.Product definitely has helped with signal consistency in my apartment complex. I have enjoyed better speeds and more reliable connections, especially when linked to the 5 GHz network.

So I just got this set up about 10 minutes ago and I couldn’t be happier. About a week ago I upgraded to a faster internet speed from Comcast (150 mbps) but when I started doing speed tests I could barely get above 60 mbps. I had been wanting to stop renting Comcast’s modem and get my own for years so I used that as a reason to purchase this and replace my 6 year old rented modem. Since Comcast doesn’t guarantee a minimum speed I didn’t even want to call them and deal with their nonsense and it will pay for itself in a little over a year. The set up was a breeze, I’m fairly tech savvy but I’m no network engineer. The instructions were clear and getting it activated from Comcast and setting up the WiFi passwords was self explanatory. Make sure you change your login information from admin to something else. They give you a lot of information in the set up utility most of it I don’t understand.I included pictures of speed tests that show the difference in speed from my old modem to the new. The top two tests are the new modem one at 2.4ghz the other at 5ghz. keep in mind I was supposed to be getting around 150 mbps. As you can see by the tests the old modem couldn’t even beat my lte data let alone reach the 150 mbps I was supposed to be getting now I’m getting over that.If you are looking to replace an aging modem/router combo i would recommend this.I will update this if I find any reliability issue such as WiFi dropping but I was so excited to be getting the correct speed I had to come and give it 5 stars right away.

This is a great unit! Very simple setup. I have Xfinity and after connecting Coax and power I simply logged into the Xfininty site and registered the unit and it was functioning properly. 5G is extremely quick. I use Ooma as a home line, so don’t bump up the unit’s router firewall protection past the default of low…this will slow down packet & sub-net resulting in the Ooma device not recognizing a connection. The router’s site is very easy to navigate and change settings. I love the fact it has both an on/off switch and heat sinks to disperse the temp, as heat kills electronics. The range is outrageous! My house is approx 28,000 sq and I get the 5G throughout and outside and the 2.4 reaches my entire property of 3 acres. I pay for 100mbs speed and I was topping at 143mbs on Ookla. BIG difference from my previous Arris. The old adage of you get what you pay for holds true in this case. Spend the extra dollars for this unit and you won’t be sorry!

I was sitting ducks with a 4 year old Motorola Arris Modem+Wifi router with a 200Mbps connection and was barely getting 60Mbps out of it. I owned the old modem so I didn’t pay any modem rental for it. After a lot of research, testing, deliberation and discussion with Spectrum Technical support we came to the conclusion that the Modem is too old to support the current speeds. I am a TimeWarner Customer who got Grandfathered into Spectrum and then Spectrum increased my Speeds to 200 Mbps. I was hesitant to buy any of the current Spectrum modem offerings, especially cuz they had no Modem+Router models, and I didn’t want two devices, I mean c’mon this is 2019. So I went with this.Opened the box, connected the power, connected the coax, called tech support gave them the MAC address, they did a remote setup and reboot all within 10 mins and BAM! 230+ Mbps all over my apartment. I literally am speechless on what I have been missing. This is an excellent Modem and bonus, it comes with a coax wrench, a nice cable velcro tie, and a nice RJ ethernet cable. Works fantastic with spectrum.

I was having major issues with the modem that my iSP gave me. It was constantly dropping connection they replaced it with another cheap one same issue. I bought this an WOW. I never have to reset it and when I do it’s always issues on the ISP side. The WiFi signal is great but not amazing. I have a 1800 square foot house and when you go to the opposite side farthest from the modem it has 80% signal strength. This also allows me to get my maximum upload and download speed as my last modem could not. I am very happy with the purchase though no more problems with dropping connection.

I’m a comcast customer with the plan of performance plus. And the speed is listed in the picture. Im not a heavy internet user and a tech pro and can analysis a lot. I use internet just for basic internet browsing, youtube streaming, and TV box support(for my parents). It provided what I needed and so far I feel great about it. Because my old gear was a modem plus a router for a complete internet spread. It was too much trouble when the internet in not working that I have to find out one by one if it’s the modem problem or router problem. And after a few times of internet failure, I found out my modem was not longer supported. So after research, I decided on this one and I love it so far! No problem at all and it was easy to set up!

It’s fast. It’s plug it in, follow the directions, and done. The admin UI is very intuitive and easy to use. I was up and running in no time.My comcast modem used to drop connection all the time. So far only the 5G is dropping on this one, but the 2.4G is always on, and always fast. I dropped to the 75mbs package at comcast since I mostly stream youtube and netflix lately. I’m working from home today and have zero complaints. I’ve done several screen sharing conferences and not once did I notice a slowness
