    Kerkers – August 21, 2015

Works awesome with Shentel. No issues to date. Lost power several times and it jumps back on board with no issues. I refused to pay what the cable companies want for a new one and I am glad I risked purchasing it used on here. Saved me a bit of money and looked brand new when I got it. Even still have the plastic on the face of it. Win win!

    Kingsfan 760 – January 16, 2016

Ok, I will admit I paid my stupid tax just for waiting so long. I’ve seen Time Warner Cable raise the lease rates twice on me but did nothing for years. Then Time Warner Cable yet again raised their modem lease fee to $10.00 a month in San Diego, CA. This time I’m done. I went to the TWC website and this was an approved model that I found on Amazon. I saw the reviews and figured it would pay for itself in less than 6 months. It took longer getting through the TWC automated phone menu then the set up of the Motorola SB5101 modem. After connecting the coaxial cable and Ethernet cable, I gave the TWC rep the MAC number off the modem. Once the rep updated the MAC number, I plugged in the power and waited about 2 minutes. I tried accessing the Internet and at first try I was up and running, surfing the web. My old TWC modem was pretty old. It might be in my mind but my modem speed seems faster. I have the Ethernet cable connected to a wireless router and worked the first time.Motorola model SB5101U is the one I received but ordered Motorola SB5101N at this price. The modem came in a plain brown box with a generic white label. Motorola even put in a return label for their customers just in case something is not right. It took me so long to pull the trigger on owning my own modem, I paid for it… don’t you do it, there is no excuse. Buy this modem and you won’t regret it.

    Jim – February 1, 2016

Performs as stated and it cuts $10 off the cable provider each month. Where can you go wrong?

    Customer – February 3, 2016

After Time Warner Cable doubled the cost of my modem lease, I decided to purchase my own. This product is reasonably priced, I received it in brand new condition, and it works just fine. It was delivered in just two days. I am very satisfied with my purchase!

It looks good the SB5101N..It works well..came good timing. I guest I understood it as being new..(and maybe it is) but it had Comcast labels on the box..I had to get Time Warner(which takes this kind of Modem) to adjust it on their end to hook it up..it was easy peasy..I have really no complaints.

    XT John – July 11, 2016

The Time Warner Cable guy tried to tell me this unit wouldn’t work for our 15 Mbps internet service; eventhough I specifically checked their website for the proper models before ordering. This cable modem does exactly what it was intended for: saving the monthly cable modem charge with our provider.

    HaysiKing – November 4, 2017

These modems are given out by my local ISP. They are the worst. They break within a few months and drop internet Alot. U will be doing Alot of hard resets. They also get warm. You will say hmm it’s warm but doesn’t feel hot or dangerous but apparently any hear what so ever will break these things and cause u Alot of pain. I had these for 8 years and thought I just had a bad ISP. It was the cursed modem and I switched to a Motorola 8×4 docsis 3.0 model mb7220. So to compare this modem can do 30 Mbps only while my new one can do 343. While most internet is far from 30 It just seems they made it as cheap as possible and it really shows with the quality of internet. That’s probably why my cheap ISP was getting these lol. Also the FCC wants to make it illegal for ISPs to give no less than 100 Mbps like most developed nation’s have and with a new modem u won’t have to buy a new one. So when u go buy a modem make sure it’s got 3.0 somewhere it will benefit you now and later. I gave 50 for mine at Walmart and I’ve saw then for 30 online

    Gene Christiansen – March 10, 2018

I just didn’t need it so i returned it.
