First off i am a Netgear Superfan purchased 9/2015Pros:1. Super easy activation via TWC’s website. 3 minutes, done2. Netgear super active on this site helping where there are problems unlike others3. No more $8 monthly rental fee’sCons:1. Tips over very easily2. feels cheap due to super light weightMy thoughtsThis modem thus far has worked excellent delivering as it should. To folks having trouble activating, you must have your DNS servers defaulted to your ISP’s DNS,have your account number beforehand, it really is quick and simple via the webTo folks have modems die, since you now own a cable modem you need to regularly check yoursignal levels as this is the #1 cause to modem failure/death, if you know you have issue currently with your serviceid advise against buying your own modem until issues are fixed.

I am very happy with this wifi router. It’s great to have my own router and save $10 a month. And it handles Comcast Internet Plus. I did a performance test a couple of days ago and found it was maintaining download speeds of 25GB and upload speeds of 6GB.

I bought this to replace a Motorola unit which died. I wanted to get a unit with 16 download channels. I tried an SMC unit, but it was had much worse performance than my very old Zoom modem. I am on comcast, and was getting about 90Mb/s download and 12Mb/s upload with the old zoom modem. Once replaced, this unit is virtually identical, which is fine, as it is not a busy time of the day. I look forward to checking out the performance during the evenings and weekends to see if it maintains the performance now that it has 16 download channels bonded. I will update later after I observe this.

This modem router kicks ass! Far better than the ones that your internet provider give you.

Performs great, as advertised, on Comcast Blast (Internet only)FYI – DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem required to attain best broadband from ComcastSpeeds from OOKLA ~ a 20 Ping, ~ 170 down/~ 12 Up (same speeds behind router as modem)Tested Comcast Blast Internet for several weeks before firing overpriced mediocre ATT Uverse (after riding me hard too many years lol)Update 2+ months: no issues, or reboots required, yet

I love it! I have no complaints and would recommend it to anyone needing internet at home!

Amazing Modem! Yeah, it was a little expensive, but it’s definitely worth it in the long run rather than renting a modem monthly from a cable provider! It’s small and sleek, and it provides fast internet and WiFi. Never really had a problem with it and I’ve had it for almost two years so far. It’s been compatible with X-Finity by Comcast as well as Time Warner cable. I especially like having our own modem because cable companies cannot adjust the speed of the internet to their liking. It seems like this is a tactic for you to buy a higher speed internet from them. Well this will not work for me. Highly recommend this modem!

I just received this today. If anything changes in the next weeks and months I will update the review.Info: I have Comcast Xfinity, I live in a 2,000sqft house that is tri-level and the modem/router is in the basement. Live in suburb of SLC (not too dense)The pictures are using the SpeedTest app on my iphone. They include my old router (which was 2.4ghz) , the new router at 2.4ghz, and at 5ghzSetup: I am very tech-savvy but decided to follow the instructions exactly as given in the pamphlet that comes in the box. In short it litterally took me 15 minutes from the time everything was plugged in to get it completely setup, I even renamed the different frequencies and added the Guest Network option. The instructions are extremely simple. I never had to call Comcast or talk with anyone on the phone at all. Just follow the instructions. You should know your Comast username/password or Account# though.Speed: As you can see by the pictures I posted the speed was boosted from my old router to the new one. And boosted a lot when I use the 5ghz option. It was 8Mbs faster than my previous router at 2.4ghz and the speed was more than doubled when I used the 5ghz frequency. I was previously using the modem and router given to me by Comcast.Range: This wont be any surprise but its a bit of a mixed bag. Obviously the 2.4ghz frequency can be reached anywhere in the house and the 5ghz frequency is spotty depending on the device. Using my iphone6 and my newer (2015) laptop I am able to connect to the 5ghz frequency anywhere in the house. However using my somewhat older laptop (2012) or my blu-ray player I am not able to connect to the 5ghz frequency in my bedroom (which is on the 3rd floor and the router is in the basement).VPN: After I purchased the router I was reading reviews that said you could not use VPN with this modem. This would be a huge problem for me so I immediately tested this after getting everything setup. I was pretty skeptical about VPN not working and it turns out I was correct. VPN works just fine from my experience, good news.Pros: I am quite please it is faster than my other modem and router, that is the biggest pro. Setup was ridiculously easy. The NetGear Network Genie is super easy to navigate, update and control your home network. I knew that I could use both 2.4ghz or 5ghz simultaneously but the addition of a guest network option was a very pleasant surprise. Now I can have people who are visiting connect to the guest network without having to give them my normal password. No more $10/month rental fee!Cons: So far the biggesst con that I have found (and I knew before I bought it) was that it only has 2 LAN line connections. I only need 2 but occasionally I will plug in a separate desktop when I am fixing someones computer and want to leave my desktop plugged in. I guess in this case I will need to unplug my printer while I use the 2nd LAN port. I would say the range of the 5ghz frequency, but that is not this particular routers fault.Other: I haven’t used it yet but I’m quite excited to try plugging in an external hard drive to the USB port.

I had a surfboard model SB6120, Comcast changed their system, and related you would not see true speeds until I replaced my modem. I found this Netgear C3700 for $80.00 on craigslist. Now My speeds are 179 MB for download and 12.9 MB upload, which about tripled my speeds. This is a great modem to purchase if you can find it. I have the Blast package as well paid an extra $3.00 for that. The picture is proof it work better.

Works Excellent, I have Media Ultra Plus Speed at the Moment. No problems with Service at all. This is a simple Modem, NO extras on it. This works great if you let your router do most or all the work. I use this modem, it goes to my OOMA box, and then my Asus RT-Ac68U. No problems.Lights on the unit not very bright so Compared to my OOMA and my Asus, it has very dim lights.

I bought the 16×4 cm500 modem to be used with Cox Cable. This has honestly been the best purchase I have ever made. I did not do it to save money as I have already purchased my residential gateway from the cable company. I do not know when, but Cox firmware started blocking users from turning off nat and disabling wifi from thier wifi modems. I have my own router and this was causing trouble. Now, everything works great. My speeds have increased as well. I have a 150mbps plan and I usually got around 90mbps over ac wireless. Just changing the modem I now get 190mbps over wifi! Do yourself a favor and let modems modem and routers router. Gateways suck your speed away even when not using wifi. Setup took two minutes with the cable company. I bought this from Amazon prime now so it may not show me as aa verified purchase.Update. 7/7/2016I returned the 16×4 for the netgear cm500 which is 24×8. My area is using all 24 bonded channels. No change in speed over cm500. However know I can compare the two. The cm600 is much bigger than the cm500. I actually needed to change the location on my modem since the cm600 is too tall for the self I had my modem on. Still no issues with performance.

This works exactly as I would expect with my Time Warner Cable internet. I have had no issues, and am very happy to not be renting one from TWC 🙂

Loved how easy it was to hook up, an use right away, without having to call customer service. It is a very slim space saving unit. Love it..

Replaced old cable modem/ router with this plus an Eero unit and am getting super speed and no more sluggish/dropped connections. Compare current speed with poor performance on old setup. Very happy.

This router works great with time warner cable and wifi in my two bedroom apartment. It was money well spent, thank you!

This was a great cable modem that I had no problems activating or using, up until the ethernet port died after a heavy storm came through. Both the cable modem and the device it was connected to were UPS protected. So the surge must have come over the coax or overwhelmed the UPS. The UPS and everything else on it are still working.

I have Cox internet, let me just tell you if you call and try to install this with them. They will tell you it’s not compatible. All you have to do is tell them it’s the Netgear CG3000D and give them the serial number and mac number you have. That will work, hope this helps.

I really didn’t wanna pay an extra $10 a month to rent a router from my internet provider.. So, I needed a cable modem/router at a decent price. We get a great signal through out our house. The netgear app is one of the best features. You can test your signal and compare to other networks. You can monitor your router from your phone. I have no complaints and 100% happy with my purchase. IMO NETGEAR has always had top quality products at lower prices.

I bought the modem because I refuse to pay Time Warner (Spectrum) steep rental fees. It supports time warner cable as well as xfinity. This is the second C3000 I buy, the first one was fried (after 2 years) with other electronics during lightning, but this one is serving me over a year now. Never turned off, never had any problems. The wireless range reaches the attic and streaming Netflix is a breeze. Highly recommended for home use.

Pretty much the same cons that everyone is reviewing about. Super short range, connection drops suddenly, randomly stops working altogether so have to restart it occasionally. I keep my house pretty warm so the modem + router functions makes this small piece of hardware get really hot in the summer. Still live with it, since I haven’t gathered all these issues until long after I bought it. I also bought a new pc at the time which I know tends to dip in internet connection as well so I blamed the pc. Definitely going to read up on loads of reviews for the next one I get. Hopefully with beamforming technology c:Tho small and overshadowed, there ARE some pros to this device. I haven’t experienced any wrongs with a wired connection to this device. Which means the modem is great and it’s the router that’s all faulty. Also, when using my pc right next to the device, it can wirelessly send the max 300Mbps connection, 0% packet loss, and exceed pass my internet speed limit. It’s just the frequent dips and fails that obliterates the spotlight for this modem router.

Set up was seemless. Very fast modem/router!!!

Very good

This is a decent router for the money but not the best. I’ve had several issues with the Wi-Fi dropping out and having to power cycle the router to fix it. Kind of annoying—doesn’t happen that frequently but much more than the last modem/router I owned before getting this one.
Daniel –
Very good range of Wifi, suits all my 8 devices and along with access control enabled can prohibit any device from connecting. Has 2 frequencies to choose from.
Stewart and Elizabeth Olney –
Works great!!👍👍We had to move it around a little bit. On the floor it didn’t reach one of our rooms. When we put it on the mantle, which is not very discreet, it got the WiFi signal to the whole house (two floors+ basement)

I really like it, it works well

I’m so glad I purchased the C3700 Cable Modem Router; it has so many features that allow me to control my network with ease. The 2.4 and 5GHz bands are separate in both the regular and guest AP, and with the Genie app, you can tighten up your security, enable or disable features, control access, and put restrictions on children or specific devices. I’m happy with the extra features as well; things like sharing media with other users, WiFi analytics, and remote access, make this a powerful tool. I feel more secure and in control of my network environment using this Netgear N600 (C3700) than I did with the one supplied initially by my ISP. The price was right too, it will have paid for itself in one year by allowing me to avoid monthly rental fees from my service provider. A big shout out to the folks over at Netgear !! Thanks

Upgraded from the C3700 to N600 for greater Mbps. It served it’s purpose quite well for streaming videos and other networking essentials.
