Perfect for my Spectrum Internet! Was a little hesitant about buying, after reading up and seeing that other people had issues installing to their network, (and that this one isnt on the TWC recommended modem list) which just means they havent checked it out yet.. BUT with all that being said and a 10 minute phone call with twc/spectrum tech support, they connected to my modem with ease! If you have one of these provideres for internet, don’t bother trying to connect on their website, just call them and give them your mac # and let them connect to it and reboot it. As for the router itself, signal is pretty darn good, I even get two bars way out to the street! Only reason I gave it 4 stars is that sometimes for no reason I will lose connection- it may be even my provider problem, but also think the cost is a little high too. Hope this helps!

What I liked least : physical connection. I don’t have really fat fingers or really small Trump fingers. But connecting the cable wire in the small gap between the back of the modem was a challenge. 2 not 4 ports….What I liked most : 28Mbps to 296Mbps! I saw speeds I’ve never seen before and I might add I’m not on a high tier plan with Comcast Xfinity…. the router menu to set up UPnP Nat settings port forwarding Port Traders Etc along with guest network Wi-Fi and different bands and many options are all strong pluses.

The shipping was ultra fast. I chose the non expert set up. It was for dummies. I love it. Works the same way as the Comcast rental. I leave in a two bedroom apartment and haven’t had any issues so far. I read the 2018 best reviews. The brand was there and not so Pricey.

This review is for a Netgear C6220-100NAS, which is a MODEM ROUTER. This was my first cable modem router. I’ve always used ADSL modem routers. I’d read reviews about how hot these modem routers can get, but when I actually tested the Netgear C6220 I was shocked: it felt HOT to my touch after being on for just 1 hour and, when scanned with my infrared thermometer, it read temperatures ranging from 137.1 F (see picture) to 110 F (lowest temperature). I’m no expert, but to me this is neither safe nor normal. Keep in mind my modem router is on a dedicated shelf all by itself with plenty of air and space around it, and the temperature in my room right now is only 68 F. I called Netgear “technical support” to find out if such high operating temperatures are safe and normal for this model. A clueless rep in India wasted 30 minutes of my time and had no idea what I was talking about. She told me to return or exchange the model I received, but couldn’t (or wouldn’t) answer my question: brilliant. Now, the modem works OK (with the exception of the wifi speed on the 2.4 ghz band being 1/3 of what it is on the 5 ghz band, which is the case with all modem routers I’ve owned), but I’ll be returning this model promptly as I don’t think it’s safe to use and I’m 100% sure it WON’T last at these abnormally high operating temperatures. Better to return the modem now, while I can, than being stuck with it and having to purchase a new one WHEN it fails (not IF it fails). Buyer beware.
Customer –
I like it too much, it’s more faster strong range than stupid internet provider router and modem plus it’s one device so less electric cost than two device I recommend it strongly so easy to install and activated.

Replaced my Motorola SURFboard SB 6121 and CISCO Linkseys 5800 after owning them for about 6 years. My internet provider is Xfinity and has been for the last 6 years. I replaced due to slow internet speeds in my upstairs and back bedrooms. Speeds were increased significantly immediately upon switching devices. Set up was easy, however, I was not expecting to have to use the ethernet cable. This required me to pull out an old HP instead of using my MacBook Air. After this, set up was very simple. See photos for increased internet speed.
Customer –
I installed C6250 as my home router an year back, and never required to reboot it purposefully. The connection was consistent and continuous. The previous other company router needed once in a week hard reboot. I recommend C6250 with confidence.
James W. –
Great product so glad a friend showed me this. Big improvement over the speeds I was getting
Megan –
I love this antennae! I get 28 channels with it and they are super clear. It was really easy to set up and shipping was fast
Mari –
Just installed and love it. We can immediately tell a difference in the speed when streaming online.
Chris –
This modem/router is an absolute unit!! Obvious gains were noticed from my old router. Overall extremely happy I purchased this product.
L. K. Harris –
We use Suddenlink and have been paying $20 a month to rent a modem/WiFi for a long time. A friend told me about Orbi, so I took the plunge and ordered the modem/WiFi + satellite.Pretty easy set up. Got ISP (Suddenlink) on the line and once they had the MAC address they activated my Orbi and it is awesome. Never had internet speed this fast.Satellite is easy setup once modem is running. Plug it in and wait 3 minutes. Expands network tremendously.ONE HUGE TIP:Rename to exactly your previous WiFi name and password. You won’t have to “update” passwords on any mobile phone, tablet, laptop or anything that was connected to previous WiFi. Big time saver.Once you are up and running, go into modem settings -) Advanced Mode. Rename.

This modem+router combo works great! It’s fast and easy to install.
mike –
Excellent router/modem. Very easy setup in windows 10. Delivers all as advertised. I had it up and running in minutes to use with my xfinity service.
Scott Rubino –
This was a good modem slash router for the money. We sometimes have issues caused by the weather but for the most part this is giving us a pretty good service for the internet speed that we have I have 6 people living in a 2000 square-foot home and have not seen problems with it as of yet good money for the buy
HighExpectations –
After three weeks of breakneck Internet speeds, I hesitate to write this review for fear I might jinx myself, but, suffice it to say, this NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi Cable Modem Router+ is not only the most user-friendly we’ve had in our 20+ years of home Internet use, but also the most low-maintenance. The speeds we’re experiencing today at the start of week #4 are as fast as they were on installation day (See Photos).I admit, my enthusiasm is partially due to having stuck with AT&T DSL Internet far longer than we should’ve. AT&T’s fastest Internet speeds were outmatched by cable broadband several years ago, but we tolerated the bad service, the glitchy modems and the slow speeds because we thought that was easier than switching. There are two reasons I’m including this in my review: 1). I suspect a lot of people out there are like us in that they’re just now looking to switch from AT&T DSL to faster broadband and are looking at this review because they’re shopping for a compatible modem/router; and 2). I think it’s important to explain that this modem/router can only work as fast as your provider delivers. To put it another way, think of this modem/router as a Porsche 911 Turbo and your Internet provider as the fuel you put in the gas tank. If you put watered-down, low-octane petroleum in your Turbo, you can expect watered-down performance. But feed it high-octane, premium fuel, and you’ll get the zoom zoom zoom you expect. In my three weeks of experience with the Nighthawk, it delivers each and every megabit per second for which I’m paying to receive. When we decided to finally switch to Comcast/Xfinity, I insisted on purchasing our own modem/router, mostly because of 20+ years of bad experience using all the bad modem/routers that AT&T sold us. This required that I do a great deal of research prior to installation day, to find equipment that was guaranteed compatible, and that promised ease of use, exceptional performance and reliability. The Netgear Nighthawk WiFi Cable Modem Router+ Voice (AC 1900) was an easy choice, not only because it does everything we need (and more), but it’s also manufactured for and marketed to Xfinity Internet and Voice customers. I was a bit worried at first about dropping our landlines and switching them to Internet phone lines, but all that worry seems silly now. I thought I might need to purchase new phones (I didn’t). I thought I’d need to learn a new batch of complicated settings (I didn’t). Honestly, all I did was plug the lines into their respective receptacles on the device and, voila — instant dial tone. While we did pay for Comcast to do an install, it’s only because they required us to do so, considering we’d never had cable service before and they needed to run a line off the pole to the house. Setting up the Nighthawk took no time at all. The tech called the activation number, dictated the necessary codes off the device, and we were up and running. The installation tech tried to talk me out of using this router/modem at the start. He fed me a line about how he’s had lots of customers complain about their speeds slowing down after a couple weeks, blah, blah, blah. He had a better router/modem out in the truck that he could use, blah, blah, blah. I thanked him for the warning, but I’d read up. I knew better. In the three weeks since the install I’ve reviewed all the settings and features. Early on I connected an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station via ethernet cable to extend the wireless signal to the top floor of our home. The two devices have played nicely together ever since, all without a hitch.I’ve included a picture of the Nighthawk in action (my hand is in the photo to give it some scale, so you can get a sense of how big the device is).I’ve also include screen shots of our Internet speeds both on installation day and today. Also, I included the speeds we were getting when we had AT&T using their Arris modem. No comparison. My only complaint, and the only reason I’ve given it 4 stars instead of 5, is because of the battery backup, which I hoped would power both Internet and phone, but no. The backup battery is only intended to power the phone function of the device. To me, that makes no sense. Instead, I opted to purchase a separate UPS (uninterruptible power source) backup battery capable of powering the whole thing — Internet and Phone — in the event of a power outage.Other than that, I highly recommend the Nighthawk.

I bought this modem/router because it’s xFINITY compatible. The package arrived within 2 days of ordering. I’m currently in Connecticut. The package came complete and in factory condition. The only problem with this cable modem is that it needs a COAXIAL CABLE that doesn’t come pre-packaged. You will have to buy the COAXIAL CABLE separate. The COAXIAL CABLE is the cord that goes from the cable outlet to the back of the modem. For the price-point, Netgear should include the cable considering you can’t even use the modem without one.Once my modem was fully setup, I saw my internet speeds jump to around 200mb/s dl. Worth it.Now my Wifi name is…WiFi Network? Why Not Zoidberg?

After struggling with Comcast for an hour telling them the Model C7000-1AZNAS and MAC address, it turns out they know the model as C7000v2 which was found in the product manual/guide inside the box.
DEEP B FLAT –
I got double the speed from my WiFi, from about 46 DL to 110 DL. It’s super easy to install, but this unit runs very warm to hot., even with no internet activity. I resolved this issue with a USB fan running along side at the lowest, quietest speed ( see photos ). Otherwise it’s a stellar modem/router combo.
Dan –
Went from 50mbs using Xfinity hardware to 182mbs with this. 👍

Frustration is goneBy Barbara Brunet 12345Not very computer savvy but when I got the new modem/router the PC stopped losing the internet connection every few minutes. I am happy to find out it wasn’t me doing something wrong. I am more willing to go on the PC now, knowing I won’t be getting up set because of the internet connection shutting down over and over again. Great investment for me.
Alan Bell –
Just using the 2.4 GHZ system in it, I increased my local internet IMMENSELY! Highly recommend this one
jose l. bergara –
Simple and easy to follow instructions my 14 year old son installed it
Mr3190 –
Need to call tech support for every 2.4 smart plug or led to install 🤔
Anna Armendariz –
Very easy setup!! Love the associated app.

Supper easy to setup.Awesome speed.Got this in cyber Monday deal.No connectivity drop till now.Got rid of rental modem and saved money.

I recently inherited my father’s house and I brought along my old Arris router/modem when I moved in. I started having a bunch of issues with my internet so I purchased this combo unit in the hopes it would cure what ailed me. I tried installing it but someone had previously purchased it and reset the password to something other than the default and I couldn’t connect. So I had the cable company come out to look at my lines and it turned out that my father had way too many connections running off the junction box so I was losing my internet signal. The nice guy fixed that and then noticed that my router/modem wasn’t capable of delivering the speeds I was paying for. So I showed him this unit and explained the password issue. Sigh… He stuck a paper clip in a hole in the back of the darn thing and it reset it itself back to defaults. I felt so silly but I was so glad I hadn’t initiated the return process. He was nice enough to get it installed for me and it was super fast and easy. He literally plugged it in, hooked up the cable line, called over to the home office and read off the serial number on the back of the unit and I was in business. I went from having a max of 150-200 Mbps to now having OVER 480 Mbps. It’s amazing! And the modem is so easy to use and care for. When you log in for the first time, it prompts you to set up your password recovery questions. Other than that, you don’t need to do much else to use it out of the box. I’m so happy I spent the extra money and purchased this one. The app is very easy to use as well. All in all it is a great buy!

I attached a screenshot of a speed test and range test with the Motorola MG7700 24X8 Cable Modem…… The one with red letters is the Motorola from my furthest upstairs bedroom, notice I have 2 bars using the 5gighz with 62mb down…. With the Netgear nighthawk i have all bars with 72mb download…. So turns out the Netgear has better range… My Motorola kept switching to the 2.4gigz and i live in a town home, not a huge house…. Modem is located downstairs by my pc…. I’m paying for 60mb connection, I’m getting a little over with the Netgear…. First day just reviewing the range and speed…. Now the next thing I’ll be paying attention to is to see if it reconnects or loses connection…. But looks great so far… Same price…. THE WINNER IS THE NETGEAR….. you’re welcome….

This router, as pictured, is taking in it’s fair share of a load and it has handled it well. I have no complaints with it as it has functioned fine since I got it. Currently handling a 100 MB/s download speed and a 10 MB/s upload speed demand from my ISP with all 4 ports being used by ethernet cables running to my different devices. It’s a great modem/router combo and I recommend it
Tresa –
The Netgear Nighthawk ac 1900 has been the best purchase for all my streaming and gaming needs. Running 2 Xbox’s and streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime with no problems. Best purchase ever!!! I would recommend it to anyone.
cperez –
Just installed this today and so far has been great. My wifi now reaches the garage (which is not connected to the house) without the use of our extender. The 5g is pretty amazing. Installation was easy peasy.
Tyler C. –
Loved it, on my old cox provided router/modem I got 20mbps of download and 5 mbps of upload now I’m in the 100s for downloads!!
JJ –
Deceptive advertising. States this is supported by Cox right in the title, but is not supported by Cox. Money and time wasted.
Ervin M. –
All I can say is WOW!!I am currently a COX Internet subscriber to their 300 plan. Before i swapped to the Orbi System I was using the Arris SB8200 for modem and a Netgear Nighthawk AC3000 router. I was never able to get via WiFi more than 60% of my plan with plenty of dead spots around the house. Currently im getting well above 225-250 mbs accross my whole house (3340 square feet) including front and backyard. We are 4 people living in this house. Several Apple devices, 3 smart TVs and a whole bunch of smart appliances. Streaming is our main use as we are attempting cord cutting (a whole different subject lol). Everything works perfectly with no lag, no buffering even late at night when we are all in our rooms 4K streaming simultaneously. While other reviewers have reported issues I can personally report none such.
nicole s. –
I pay for 200 mbs from xfinity, and this modem/router help me get there
Melany –
Muy bueno y fácil de instalar y si funciona
Le –
Easy to install. Up and running in less than 10 minutes. The set up part is easier if you already have an Xfinity account.Update: After a few weeks, I realize that the connection is very unstable. Tried with a Xfinity router and my connection works just fine
Segundo lliguicota –
Nice
Mike Adams –
After having the Orbi for a little over six weeks now, no complaints so far. It does what it is supposed to do. The install was relatively easy no headaches at all. Good router!
Nadia –
My husband and I were renting a modem from Comcast for about 2 years. We finally decided to buy our own. Man what a difference! Immediately after we set up our Nighthawk we noticed a huge difference in speed. We are so pleased to have bought this modem router. It’s got a great design, easy to set up, easy to make changes anytime. We have about 8 devices connected to it and it works great no lag or delay of any kind. I would recommend this to anyone. I wish we would have switched over sooner.
snfproductions –
I was attracted to this model because it is both a modem and a router, which of course is super great because it saves space. I used to have to reset my router multiple times a week because of connection issues, but I have not had any issues with this one. Our internet has been much faster, and I am extremely happy with this modem router. We have had several devices connected at once and all playing HD vidoes with zero lag. It was reasonably priced and I am definitely a happy customer, and I highly recommend this product!
Customer –
Awesome modem and even better customer service. Easy setup and fast WiFi. Highly recommend.
Baylen –
Easy to setup like all netgear products, the wifi speed is great if you are in the same room but back in my office I had to buy a 75ft ethernet chord because the wifi was in and out of signal – so my phone and tablet are unusable on wifi and I had to hide the chord – I might have done this anyway but I was definitely forced to.First image is within 5 feet, 2nd is within 10 feet 3rd is about 20 feet, last is 30ish feet away. It will occasionally reach a good signal but never for more than 5-10 seconds.
J. LUGO –
I bought this to save money on rental fees from the cable company. Mission accomplished. It’s fast, it’s reliable, and shiny. My Wi-Fi signal degraded just slightly but I guess that’s to be expected from something much smaller. All I had to do was put it up a little higher and problem solved. Excellent router cable modem.
Will Rodgers –
I feel like everything’s been good.
Mom –
Based on all reviews I decide to buy this wifi cable modem router .. I just connected two days ago and my internet gets super super slow soI decide to check connections to make sure was proper connected and when I touch the connection I find out that was very hot And the one I have before never gets that hot so ImThinking on send it back .
julio dieguez –
I like it because it expands the WiFi and its faster
Beatrice ivory –
Was very easy to set up, when spoke with netgear tech . Everything is connected. Internet, home phone service, 4 pc Ring security Systems and Wi-fi as well as Eckerman security alarm. Love It!
J. Greene –
I installed the Orbi cable modem with 2 Orbi extenders. This eliminated all of my wifi dead zones and increased wifi system throughput by 10X. No more streaming stuttering or Sonos dropouts! Flawless!
Ron –
I had a c**##** modem that comes with my cable subscription and my download speeds were 60 to 80 mbps upload speed 6 to 8ish and the cable company said it was nothing they could do and it was because of the walls and distance in my house excuse, I told the cable company my router is only 40ft from my computer and they said their wireless router needs to be in the same room or closer or directly connected by ethernet cable in order to get the speed I was paying for. Now all has changed to 175ish mbps download and 11.3ish upload speed wow what a difference. NOW im getting what I’m paying for with Nighthawk recommended to me by my neighbor who was having the same issues with the same cable company.
Customer –
This modem/router has a clean interface – nothing cryptic or confusing – it is simple and logical. Customer Support was fantastic and put Comcast in their place! I did not have to pay the technician once they figured out it was a problem with them (Xfinity). Signal is STRONG and steady. Runs fairly cool even up in the rafters. Best I ever bought in over 24 years!
mike –
I definitely love the combo router/modem! Takes up less space and works great for my TVs and devices!
Ramona Stevenson –
I just love it! it’s fast strong! takes a lot of devices what else can I say? If your looking for a good modem this is it!
Mike44NH –
Amazing product! Insanely easy to set up and works perfectly with Xfinity and Alexa. Very strong WiFi signal, much stronger than our Xfinity router’s was. Love this product.
Javier Noriega –
This is the best Router/Modem I’ve ever owned. Great App and easy to use and understand.
C-los –
I really like the small profile and the beamforming technology.
goldieeagle –
I was able to set up the router easily with my Xfinity account. And most of my other electronics connected with few problems. Having problems with my Emerson Sensi thermostat but am trying to resolve that with Sensi, since I do believe it is their problem. Netgear support has been extremely helpful as I am working through this problem with Emerson.
Nanimirai –
Less than a year after buying this gateway modem/router and netgear will not help unless I pay a premium for support??
Digna Bonilla –
Easy to install and works how i wanted it too.
RealtyCPA –
After researching routers and combination modem/routers, we decided to try the NetGear NightHawk Cable Modem WiFi Router Combo AC1900. The NightHawk replaced a modem supplied by our ISP, Spectrum, and an 8 year old Apple Time Capsule with built-in router. We’re still using the Time Capsule for backup storage. The NightHawk has been a steady performer and delivers a strong 5G signal through our home. Download speeds more than doubled and we’re able to run multiple devices and TV streaming simultaneously without any lag or stutter. Installing and setting up the NightHawk was easy and took about 5 minutes using the instructions including with the equipment. Check with your ISP, to make sure they support the NightHawk. When we informed Spectrum, I think they made a technical adjustment to our account on their end to accommodate the NightHawk. Again, great piece of equipment!
Tech1Tv –
I got this router to use with Comcast and it’s fast, when i’m downstairs the signal remain 4 bars. I wanted a better router to replace the old one i had with speed and signal, this one is good enough for now. The only thing is i wish it was smaller, the router is wider than my Xbox One S.
Cyler –
It’s huge! As big, if not bigger than my PS4 Pro! Easy to install, although my speed dropped by half compared to my old modem router. Didn’t want to call my 1 star cable company…
Keith L. –
I researched and looked at lots of different modem models and then I found the Orbi and saw that it had a satellite to help with WiFi signal got it hooked up and going love the Orbi especially the phone app to turn off WiFi to TVs when granddaughter doesn’t listen I’m able to shut tv WiFi off. Internet servicemen really liked it and I’ve told many people how good it is. Everyone should get the Orbi
Shane –
When I got it set up, I received around 300 mbps, even tho I’m only paying for 100 mbps. The range is outstanding, and it seems reliable 100% of the time. Don’t waste your time looking at other routers, this is the one to buy if you have cable internet. The best part is, it’s nice and compact.
James w. –
Mostly like it it’s size easy to see and not so big and bulky.
pete haralambopoulos –
Love this product! Highly recommend it!!! Satellites are amazing! Very happy 😊

Arrived damaged, someone really destroyed it
Suraj Gupta –
One of the best built-in modem router and good wifi signal as i was looking for.

Easy to install, and loves the dual band options. Gets enough coverage in my 1600sqft house. 4 stars because 2.4ghz band is not giving me enough speed during speed test.I have 7 devices running on 2.4ghz, ring door bell, 2 ring flood lights, ring chime, firestick, and 2 tablets and they all work fine. I do however notice that the firestick will lag time to time but its not bad. Just wished the 2.4ghz band would at least give me half of my internet speed (100mbps with xfinity, check the picture i have when im on 2.4ghz band, im only getting about 5mbps.)I also have 2 iphone and my pc running on the 5ghz band and they are running up to speed plus a little more with my internet plan of 100mbps. Im sure i can hook all the devices on on 5ghz since my house is only a one story but no point when im manly using my pc and iphones for the most part.Ive attached a photo of my speed with 5ghz on my iphone. The one highlighted in yellow is verizon lte and Green is running on 2.4ghz. Ive tested all 3 a couple of times and all the results were similar.
Laurie Canney –
Meets the specs for Comcast requirements for Xfinity.
Honest Mike –
What can I say? The thing should be called the “Usain Bolt” package. Went from 80/ 12 speeds to 260 / 23 speed in seconds. I would say the ONLY issue I faced in this simple installation was contacting Comcast to activate the device. Took me all of 3 hours to find the right department to know what and how to service me. Outside of that, the product is RIDICULOUSLY fast. Perfect for streaming live tv, video games, and movies. My service is 600mbps from xfinity- and this Modem/router offers me up to up to 400mbps (although Comcast said it was pushing 650mbps). All in all this is overkill but nice to have if I ever need it at a really fair price.
Customer –
Got the router and it didn’t work. Gave to my friend that has the same one to check it – no output signal.Going to return ……
Christophorus –
Easy to install almost a plug-n-play setup, follow the netgear activation instructions then optimum modem registration instructions. Done. SuckIt Optimum you ain’t getting 10$ a month from me no more no more no more hit the road jack
Dale W. Santee –
All in one modem/router was easy to set up and use. Made a huge difference in my desk top and notebook speeds without having to have Cox increase the speed. Highly recommend it.
Chris M. –
Comcast bumped our router rental fee up to $14/month so we bailed. We do ALOT of gaming and decided to spend the extra coin for this C7800 unit. We use Xfinity Gigabit and were seeing speeds around 100Mbps with the Comcast router. Took about 15 minutes to install and link up, then ran a speed test and came in just over 400Mbps download (pictured), and occasionally double digit upload speeds. We don’t have TV or phone service since we stream everything so I recently ran the coaxial coming directly from the telephone poll into this router (with proper grounding) and now pushing speeds around 600/30Mbps. Blazing fast for living out in the sticks like we do.My only concern is that my neighborhood is slowly being switched to fiber and I cannot find any info on compatibility with the C7800 unit.
Eddie –
This is the second time I try to write a review if let me finished, the signal is excellent when it works, but I hate to reset it or turn Off/On like 20 times a day if your ISP provider is Spectrum do not buy it, Netgear and Spectrum blame each other on solving my problem, I got no help at all, and I been told from both side in very polite way that is not there !@#$%^ problem, so I was done talking to this people, I will not recommend buying this unit. I hope one day both fix their issues. in the meantime, screw me $300.
Michael –
Buying this modem was the best decision I made when replacing my rental unit from comcast/xfinity. Th ed set up was fast and required NO PHONE CALL witch if you cant tell I was happy about. The range is as good as the comcast box was and I could have gone up to netgear next model if I needed more witch is nice to know, and the price feel perfectly in budget as t just under $80 I will recoup my money in less then 6 months. In conclusion I just want to thank netgear for actually makeing s product that has delivered on all promises.
NOT A GTI –
So far, so good. I am getting strong WIFI on 2nd floor of house with the router located in basement. The 1st floor sub-flooring in our home is concrete and steel (1930’s junior beam construction) and I had previously had issues getting any signal to 2nd floor even with WIFI extenders. My setup was painless as well as the Comcast installer called it in and had them activate it while he was onsite doing the cable install. I am connected to Comcast 100mbps service and am seeing slightly over 120mbps speeds on Speedtest via a Cat6 ethernet cable.. Roku and Tablo are flying along now. Will update as we get more time and use out of it.

Apart from the usual devices (like TV, phones, laptops and iPad) if you have a smart home setup like Alexa, smart bulbs, smart switches, doorbell, cameras etc, then this is the modem / router you must buy.For a long time I had the issue of my cameras going offline almost once in every 2 days. Then I decided to return the internet service provider’s modem / router and purchased this one. Things have changed now. No more offline devices. Great internet speed over WiFi. And WiFi range is very good.

Instantly better, I went from roughly ~10Mbps to ~110Mbps in a matter of 20 minutes. Set up was easy. Highly recommended. I am on Comcast $30 a month 100Mpbs service in Chicago.

I upgraded my Xfinity internet to a higher speed package, so I decided to upgrade my router as well to handle it. I chose not to use a Xfinity router (I read many people recommending to not use a Comcast-provided router), and got this Netgear modem. Before I changed my router, I tested my new internet speed on my old modem, and it topped out at around 100mbps, but it jumped to 239mbps after installing this Netgear modem.Installation was easy, but I did have to call Comcast to get them to finish setting up my new connection. It surprisingly didn’t take them very long (maybe 10 minutes on the phone – I was expecting an annoyingly long wait or multiple hiccups). Anyone looking to upgrade their Xfinity Internet package should consider this modem as well.
