It’s a decent router, but lacks features I would expect of a standard wifi router. For instance, I can’t limit the radios to one band. I have some older electronics that only work on 802.11G, not B/G mix, ONLY G. But this won’t let me turn off B. It’s always on Mixed mode, with no way of changing it. Also It doesn’t have screw on antennas, they’re permanent, meaning I can’t add a longer or larger antenna. There are no mounting holes. But it works, and is faster than my internet connection, so I’m keeping it.

Works well and easy to set up. Replaced an older Netgear router, so I just changed the name and password of the new router to my old routers settings. That way I didn’t have to go into every wireless device I have to set new name and password in them. Made it simple and easy. I needed the extra bandwidth the AC1200 gives me. Didn’t realize I was going to have this many wireless devices. Thanks to Amazon life is good and I stay connected even without wires. Just the beginning of the Information Age.

I got this wireless router for more coverage in my house. I have a large screen TV which connects to the internet and to get NETFLIX so I needed this router to connect to the internet. This router is fantastic and it works perfectly!!!

This router has provided consistent signal throughout my house since I started using it. I don’t seem to have any weak spots anywhere and all our electronics work as they should. That’s really about all I can ask for and this router is performing as promised. A recommendation I read before switching to Xfinity said this router was a good one to pair with the the modem I went with and so far they are right. No issues.

I needed an upgrade to my existing router. I selected the ac1200 smart router. The dual band connection works flawless throughout my household. No signal loss and connectivity is a breeze. The setup was fast and easy. Plus with protection protocols built in, you’ll have no problems with anyone gaining access to personal information. Not only is this a great product, the price was even better. I highly recommend this device to anyone looking for increased range and ease of use.

I bought this router after moving into a 1900 sq ft apartment. My old one did not serve all the space. I understood from the manuf and reviews that this would serve my purposes. The router is in the middle of my apartment, with no coverage 40′ away in two directions. In addition, I have not been able to use my printer since installing the router. Maybe my mistake, but I regret it. Bummer.
If you have a large(r) space, find a different router.

I gave this router a four-star rating because of its limited range. The router works great the website is great, it’s just too weak. I am in a different room only 10 feet away and my signal strength has dropped to 86%. Every step I take away from the router I can watch the signal strength drop. If I go one more room away or step outside the signal strength is all but gone. For single room use, this router would be fantastic. When I replace this router I will do it with another Netgear but I will get one with more range.

I purchased this Netgear Router 12/16. Recently my Samsung Smart TV will not pick up the WiFi signal. My laptop and iPad still receive the WiFi signal. I cannot watch Netflix which I have been doing since I originally purchased this router. It is past the 90 free support period and they want a fee in order to troubleshoot the problem. I refuse to pay them for something that I feel that they should help me with for free. I will purchase another router from another company and never buy a Netgear product again! I have an Arris modem and a very nice employee spoke to me for a lengthy period of time and finally said that he felt that it was my WiFi router that was the problem and I wasn’t charged for their help!

I love technology and tinkering, but I have gotten so burned out on trying to deal with bad routers and access points over the years. I bought the NETGEAR AC1200 based on other reviews and I this it is a great choice for a product that just does what it’s supposed to. I’ve only used it a week, but I haven’t had to touch it since I set it up. Setup was a breeze, and I haven’t had to reboot it at all since then. My apartment isn’t very large (about 700 sqft) an I only have about five devices connected at any given time, but it keeps up with all of them with a signal strength that doesn’t go below 90% until I go outside. I would definitely recommend this router to my friends.

The router actually exceeded my expectations. Our new apartment has pretty fast internet (80-120 mbps download), but instead of opting for a more expensive router to take full advantage of that we decided to try this more affordable option first, and it has been satisfying. In our one bedroom apartment it doesn’t give us any hiccups in HD streaming from one end of the apartment to the other. It’s a pretty modest size so it’s only going across about 30 ft. and through one wall, but it works perfectly for us. Additionally, the US port allowed us to make our $35 printer wirelessly accessible from any device on the network. If you want to stream 4k or have a bigger place, you’ll probably start seeing the bottleneck, but for regular gaming and video streaming in a 800 sq. ft. apartment, this is probably all you need.

This router is otherwise decent for home use, except for the “wireless isolation” problem: all devices connected with the 2.4G bandwidth network won’t be able to see/access any devices connected by wire (ie, linked to one of the 4 ports with a cable). If you backup the router settings, you can see that for the 2.4G bandwidth wireless the option “Wireless Isolation”=1 that is responsible for this. There is nowhere in the Genie (GUI) for you to change it, and if you modify the backup.cfg and try to restore config with it, the router will refuse by a message “Please select the correct configuration file” or something like it. So I will not recommend to buy it until they fix the problem. I’m asking for a refund.

I recently just switched from DSL to Cable Internet and I wanted to save money on a monthly charge for using the cable companies router so I decided to buy a router from amazon. I first bought a TP Link. The signal had trouble transmitting through walls and upstairs. I ran various speed tests at different points in the house and it never even broke 30mbs when I was standing right next to it. After I returned it I discovered this amazing router and after installation I ran a speed test in my bedroom two rooms away from the router and I was getting 72mbs down and 7mbs up on what my cable company is supposed to be 60mbs down and 5mbs up. Hands down this router a must for my household.

SO FAR I’m VERY happy with this router! After first buying a TP Link router for about twice the price of this refurb and struggling for days trying to get it to work I sent it back for this. Looked absolutely brand new except for the brown box and had it set up and working great from anywhere around the house in a matter of a few minutes. Using 5g mostly but 2.4 at the furthest distances. Same speed as directly from my modem–66-70 down and 5.8-6.2 up. If it continues to function like this I’m a happy camper.
