Technicolor C2100T Product Details
The CenturyLink C2100T is one of the most popular of Technicolor’s DSL Modem series. The C2100T features a wide range of features, including Dual-Band wireless, 4 gigabit Ethernet ports, & wired download speeds up to 343 Mbps. This model provides all the stability you need for a home or business network. With all it’s features and versatility it’s easy to see why this model is everyone’s favorite.
High Speed Gaming & Internet with the C2100T
The C2100T supports VDSL2 services and offers fast internet access, while maintaining stable connections for your whole home. With data rates of up to 343 Mbps, the C2100T provides stable wireless connections for high-speed data and multimedia applications. As a result, this model is able to easily handle simultaneously streaming video/audio content and online-gaming.
Additionally the Technicolor C2100T includes a dedicated Gigabit Ethernet WAN port. This provides more versatility & ensures an easy activation by allowing for a single CPE on either DSL or GPON network. When operating in DSL mode, this port works as a Gigabit 5th LAN port that can be used to connect a printer, wireless access point or other device. As a bonus, the CenturyLink C2100T features 802.11n technology with 2T x 2R antennas which provides the ultimate solution: improved speed, reduced dead zones, and extended coverage.
Security & Reliability
Enhanced security ensures the protection of traffic from the WAN to the LAN. Through the implementation of dual Ethernet firewalls (NAT and SPI), the C2100T identifies and manages malicious content or applications. Consequently, this model blows other similar devices out of the water.
As part of its wireless security design, the Technicolor C2100T supports WPA2/WPA/WEP and features a hardware WPS button allowing customers to easily connect using a simple button. Connect any wireless printer, computer or other WPS enabled devices in a minute without entering any long passphrases. These features simplify your ability to set up and utilize a secure, wireless network.
IPv6 Enabled
Many North American carrier networks are migrating from IPv4 to IPv4/IPv6 which creates the potential for stranded equipment unable to support these requirements. Since this C2100t modem supports IPv6 and Ipv4, you will never need to worry about your built-in security.
Remote Management & Parental Controls with the C2100T
The CenturyLink C2100T provides DSL Forum compliant TR-069 remote management to ensure quick and easy installation. Set up all your wireless settings within minutes using this model’s web-based admin portal. The C2100T includes several remote management and parental control options to make your network as flexible as possible. Additionally, this can help meet needs for all devices in your home. In addition to the standard onboard management options, this model includes remote provisioning, monitoring, and management features. As a result, ModemGuides technicians certify that this model covers everything you might need to manage your network and all the devices on it.

Excellent and it is approved by Century Link. It’s the modem they use if you have Prism TV and it prevents you from having to connect a 5GHZ router to your existing modem and it was the same price as a 5ghz router.

Lighter than the speed of sound
Iski4kix –
Maybe sometime in my lifetime they will make a modem where I don’t have to reboot to get my wireless working once a week

Unfortunately, with CenturyLink, you have to choose between a woefully low-end/super basic modem/router or an everything but the kitchen sink unit. This is the latter. This thing is huge! Obnoxiously so. I do understand that it’s necessary in order to accommodate all the different possible cable connections (It’s mostly empty space on the inside.) However, I, and I expect most people don’t need all those connections. In my case I just need wifi, so I use just one cable (besides power that is.) How about an option for a small unit that just does wifi well? Dual band and up to and including AC. Heck, maybe update the basic model to current standards (dual band and AC). All that many users need can be cheaply made in the size thick smartphone.I must admit though that the software/firmware is fairly well done and as user-friendly as the average router. I can’t find anything to complain about in that department. Though it would be nice to be able to turn off the tower of flashing lights. Seriously, between its size and all the lights, this could be used as a Christmas tree. Just add a little tinsel.

Works fine with Centurylink, been using it for over a year now.

Saved me a lot of money from using a leased unit for 9 a month.Installed easy, but don’t us the Quick Set up thingy…It will mess you up and it will take time to undo the goofy set up
Jessica –
It is easy to install and set up.
Ramon Richardson –
Great modem router! Super fast
Jonathan –
Great product at an incredible price. Stick it to CenturyLink and stop renting (what a scam). Within two months I already had an ROI on this product.
William Michael Creech –
Works great. saves me 10.00 per month.
Customer –
The product came as advertised. It worked with CenturyLink and after calling up CenturyLink for help, it was up and running!
K. Fengler –
While not cheap I’ve learned to get the correct item for what is needed. I use this with my Fiber Optic DSL service from CenturyLink. It’s pretty much a plug and play installation replacing the same item I was Leasing. I had used CenturyLink and this modem/router for 5 months, have been quite happy with the service so decided on purchasing my own item.
Kindle –
Worked well for the first few months, then over time it began to drop the connection occasionally. It got to the point where it was disconnected more often than connected. At one point it was disconnected more often than connected. Replaced with C3000Z. Seems ok, will see what happens.

I have been using this modem/router since January. I have not had any major issues. Once in a while the internet stops suddenly and then reconnects. If you are not streaming, you may not notice. I enjoy it otherwise. I have had it working on a single pair dsl service and now bonded dsl (double pair) service.
hdt –
This product to upgrade my modem for better video streaming. It does the job. I use the 5ghz for my pc, tabĺets and tv, and use the 2.4 for distant printers . We have several roku boxes, chromecast,, and vizio tv hooked to this, and noticed we were able to set video play back to automatic vs 720 which means we now get some 4k output. Another thing we noticed, if unplugged video continues tor about 90 seconds before saying disconnected our Action Tech displayed this after about 20 seconds. We do not have a prism tvs, just dsl, this is working well.
S. Hammond –
Works great!
RangRider –
Seems to work ok
CRodriguez –
Stopped working after 15 months

better them buying one in the long run

Replaced my long struggling spare C1000A (was using a Netgear D7000, but that quit connecting to the Internet). The C1000A was a decent modem router, but it lacked wireless coverage. Plugged the C2100T in and it has been running for about 1 week. So far so good! It has the same basic web menu as the C1000A, so setting it up was a snap.My old C1000A did not have great wireless coverage so I bought a Netgear D7000 modem router. I used the Netgear for about the last 5 years and it was awesome, but now that device, while it still “sees” the DSL signal, won’t obtain Internet. Maybe Centurylink got wise to me using a non approved modem/router, or the Netgear’s modem portion went bad after 5 years of use.The C21000T has almost as good wireless coverage as the Netgear (wireless signal strength measured with Metageek), which is 10x better than the old C1000A. I elected to turn off wireless in the C2100T and run the Netgear as a wireless access point. The combo is sweet indeed, and the C2100T runs cooler with it’s wireless off . I can pick up my wireless signal well out into my yard and down the street. The old Netgear, with it’s 3 antennas, is a wireless beast 🙂
Keith Swinehart –
Need a wifi router..to weak on its own
Garfield-junkie –
Typical of my other CenturyLink products, this is not the easiest item to sync with my system. But I accomplished it, eventually and it’s working. I do noticed less buffering with this router. So that’s a +
Customer –
Working well overall.Prior house we were having a bunch of DSL drops, but I was fairly certain that this issue was centurylinks side NOT the modems, since this was literally the 4th modem I had on the line and the drops were still happening. Now that I have moved to a new house/town, I am 100% sure that the modems were never the issue, as this modem has been hooked up for 3 weeks now… and not a single DSL drop.
