Great router that offers Gig speed and the wireless range is great. I have it connected to my existing network as another firewall. It’s easy to configure and very user friendly

This router has worked perfectly for me. Way, way cheaper than paying for a router from Verizon. Running Verizon Fios smoothly. No issues at all, including chromecast which I know some people have had concerns with in the past using this router. Much nicer than any router you will get from a service provider and it goes with you if you switch!

I bought this router based on the reviews and because I have other tp link devices and they’re reliable, however this is not the case with this router. I’ve tried a couple of routers so far and NOT ONE has been so inconsistent with speeds. Testing this router back to back was pretty much luck of the draw, one test would be over 100 Mbps download, next one would be 12 Mbps download. All the tests shown were done on the 5ghz network about a mere 5 feet from the router. It’s like a never ending rollercoaster. I do not recommend this router to anyone, stay away

Great coverage and super fast. I have a 1700 sqft home and this router has signal everywhere. The router is placed downstairs in a corner and the speed is phenomenal with very low loss, even upstairs in the farthest opposite corner! The app is awesome as well and allows you to configure everything, including passwords, name, block list, parental control, ect.

You see my momma used to say “there is a great big world out there. That I needed to stop lifting weights in my room, stop watching tv in the basement, stop playing video games on my Intellivision.” I have always had that voice in the back of my head. I have moved out on my own and started a family, but I for the past 22 years I just keep coming back to what my momma said.Well I finally did something about it and used the interwebs at my local buffet style family dining establishment (borrowing my momma’s smartphone) and ordered the TP-Link AC1750 Smart WiFi Router, as a companion piece to a modem surfboard. I am not what you would call well with the electronics, but this piece of manufacturing was easy for me to set up and even brought my son and I closer together as we worked on it as a daddy/son project.Once this was set up the whole family dynamic changed, the kids no longer fight with each other, my wife no longer hollars stuff to me at my face, we watch the entertainment on the tv with the airdropping of shows and movies. My momma was right… there is a whole great big world out there, and now my family and I can see if wireless from our phones and tablets!

I bought this router because my old 3 year old netgear was slowly dying. My old router was capable of gigabit speeds and had good speeds. It started slowing down. So I bought this in hopes of speeding up my home network.SETUPSetup was a breeze. I did it on my phone. There is a management page that I did tweak settings on. If you’re a novice user and you don’t want complicated setups, this router is for you. But if you want advanced settings, that is available. The Tether app is user friendly and less glitchy than Netgear Genie app.SPEEDSSpeeds are great! On 5ghz I get around 225-245 download. I pay for 250mbps download. Which is very good in my books. If you pay for good quality internet speeds this may not solve your probelms. Need to check whether your modem can handle the speeds you pay for.UPDATES and APPOnly had this for 3 days and I forgot there was an firmware update available for the router when I did set it up. You can update the firmware through the Tether app. You can also do Parental Controls, manage or change passwords, manage guest network, and much more through the app. I’m impressed with the app because you can control a lot without knowing a lot. It’s easy for my parents to use and they not Tech friendly.PROBLEMSI did encontour one issue with this router. It may just be my problem. I used the one cable prodivded in the box and Xfinity provided cables I got for free to hook it up and that was a mistake. For a week I had bad speeds and inconsistencies on my speeds and network. So I decided to change the Cat 5e cables to Media Bridge Cat 6 cables. After that I have no issues with the router. Speeds are great now and no inconsistencies.BEST FEATURE? (night mode)I like that you can turn off the LED lights at a certain time so they aren’t shining crazy at night or when you’re watching a movie they aren’t in your face. You can completely have them off, but I have mine set to turn off at 10pm and turn back on 7am.OVERALLThis is a steal compared to other comparable models on the market. I’d highly recommend this to anyone on the market looking for a upgrade. Just make sure this isn’t overkill for your internet speeds thoughPICTURESFirst picture is new router with Cat 5e cables. Slow and inconsistent speeds.Second picture is with new CAT 6 cables. Blue is over 2.4 GHz. And red is over 5GHz.All other pictures are just the app and all the nice easy to use features available.UPDATE: I was initially very impressed with the value this router brought to the table compared to my 3 year old router I replaced. This router stopped connecting to all my devices and when it did connect the speed ranged from 10mbps to 30mbps max! I opted to go with my first option the Netgear Nighthawk R6700. Decided to go a day or two without WiFi at home and return this shitty router get my money back so I can order the new router. My old trusty Netgear router went bad after 3-4 years of heavy streaming and use, this thing went bad in a matter of 2 weeks! Also I will note my old Netgear router was bought refurbished and used, so it had easily 4 years of life. Sticking with Netgear, ASUS routers or even Linksys routers. Avoid this purschasd if you can.

TP-Link AC1750 Router has performed well. I had to shop around for a new router as my old Belkin router of 8 years finally gave out. I’ve never used a TP-Link branded router before, this is my first, but I’m very happy with it, the signal strength gets out all over my home without using an extended Wi-Fi adapter. If you’re looking for a new replacement or it being your first router, this one is it…. easy to set up.

I purchased this router back in November 2018 and it was excellent for the first month. I have a 60mbps speed internet service with Comcast and I was getting download speeds up to 70mbps. It was really easy to set up, UI is clean and easy to understand, couldn’t be happier! But in December I started noticing that it was taking FOREVER to load webpages, even text-based ones like Wikipedia. After consulting some friends (and the internet) I discovered that my download speed on ethernet would gradually drop by more than 50% throughout the day. Rebooting the router would fix this issue temporarily and I would hit the same speeds I get from connecting directly to my modem, but within an hour it would be back down to around ~20mbps which makes doing anything productive on the internet basically excruciating.Apparently a TON of people have this exact same issue. I spent hours reading threads on various websites and have tried all of the troubleshooting tips I could understand. I also spent a few additional hours writing a huge email to TP-Link’s tech support explaining all of my issues in detail, taking screenshots, doing speed tests, etc. etc… and then I realized that all this work and time I’m putting into troubleshooting this router is not worth it. Less work and headache for me to return it and get something else that will work right out of the box without all of this headache. I actually really like TP-Link and I have quite a few of their products, but this router was a disappointment. I wish I had read about this speed issue before I had purchased it.

Works fine so far. I have a gigabit internet at home, so this is the max my ISP giving for this plan. Installation process is easy, nice thing is that you can hide 5G ssid and set different password, also with mobile app you can see what devices are connected (and block unwanted mac address). Still testing it, but for now is much better from previous routers I had.

    Certified Customer – February 25, 2019

NOT GOOD for GAMING. OR speed. I got this router for gaming purposes with Xbox One S looking to increase the speed a little bit besides upgrading my internet package which I’ve already done. this router read somewhere in the description of the product “idle for gaming” which it is definitely NOT. When I’m hard-wired with the ethernet cord from my Xbox 1 to my Comcast Xfinity internet/cable modem, which is the latest version as of February 2019 and I going to the Xbox settings, go to network network settings, then you go to detailed Network statistics … that will test your internet speed. It’s about 500 mbps with my original Comcast modem. When I connect this tp-link router to my Comcast modem by the ethernet cord and also connecting my Xbox One by ethernet cord to the Tp Link router and I do the same speed test, the speed is reduced into half(about 250 mbps). Now if I connect my Xbox to the TP link router by Wi-Fi the speed reduces even more(87 mbps -127 mbps) and that’s not beneficial for anything! I’ve tried different setups in the tp-link program well not really program but online easy setup area… I tried different options turning this on and that on, turning some things off and leaving others on, literally a ton of combinations of playing around with the settings and this took HOURS like days, because everytime you change something and/or unplug/plug in ethernet cords you HAVE to reboot the modem/router and wait for them to start back up bla bla bla. DISCLAIMER: DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME, DON’T TRY SWITCHING SETTINGS AND PLAYING AROUND IN AREAS WHERE YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS if you are not mentally inclined in these types of fundamentals because if you mess something up, and you don’t know how to fix it, than your going to be mad. Anyway, i tried different combination of options. I tried running router as an access point, cloning my Mac address and with all these things I’m saying I also tried you know not cloning the MAC address and not having router as access point, NAT features turn on/off etc etc and nothing worked but when I connect my Xbox back to my original Comcast modem my speeds are 500 mbps easy and the router is literally right next to My Comcast modem okay so I tried moving the router farther away from Comcast modem & GUESS WHAT HAPPENED… the results stayed the same I’m going to be returning this router.

Prior to this purchase, I had 3 other wireless routers that I returned because they just won’t work! I got tired so I bought the cheapest one (this) instead. To my surprise, this is the one that worked for me. I like the router admin page’s ease of use, as well as the phone app (named “Tether”) made by TP-Link. The admin page can also generate a QR code which you can print and put in a wall so whenever you have guests, they can just scan the QR code to connect to the internet.

Great! I was barely getting any speed in my tri-level 2300sf house. I’m talking 1-to 15MBS per second. It was a joke! Now, I’m getting what we are actually paying for! Almost 200MBS. Range is pretty good. I was able to take out a WiFi extender in my upstairs. Installation was easy too.

This is an usable product. Technical support is unacceptable and not knowledgeable. My router did not work from day one. Tech support either couldn’t help, disconnected me from chats (after chatting 90 minutes) and phone calls were disconnected after holding for long periods of time. I returned it and will be purchasing a name brand quality router, just wish I would have done so prior to dealing with it for one month.

As a gigabit router, this product does not stack up. See the images for a comparison between wifi through my phone (avg of 200-250 mbps) and my hardwired desktop (avg 800-950 mbps). I have maximized the signal strength in the settings and used a wifi analyzer to select the optimal channel for the 5 ghz band. I was intending to use this + a gigabit modem to replace my non gigabit modem router, which averaged ~400 mbps and maxed out at ~600 on hardwire. I plan to return this as it completely fails as a gigabit router.I will say that I like the software interface much more than Netgear’s (my previous device). Much more intuitive and looks nice.

    Michael S. Welch – June 5, 2019

The WiFi Speeds are Misleading. Let me try and explain.I have Verizon FiOS Gigabit internet. My desktop that is directly wired to the router is able to achieve gigabit speeds via multiple speedtests: Fast.com, and Speedtest.net.My 2018 MacBook Pro can connect to the router at 1300 Mbps according to the System Information Link Speed. However, it cannot achieve gigabit speeds from any of the speedtests. It gets less than half what the desktop does, even sitting less than 1 foot away from the router. It seems the router is capable of gigabit speeds via wire and it is capable of above gigabit speeds via wireless, but it is not capable of bridging those two connections above about 500 Mbps. I’m not sure if this is limited by the router’s processor, or the router’s firmware. After about 90 minutes of troubleshooting with TP Link Support, they claim that “wireless speed will be half of your wired speed since it is connected wirelessly.”If you have gigabit internet, your wireless devices will NOT be able to take advantage with this router. I will be looking elsewhere.

    The Keeper – June 9, 2019

Oh, dusty old D-Link router. How I overlooked you. We kept buying the bigger and better internet packages, with nothing to show for it. Turns out, the router was the bottleneck. Money has been tight lately, but I took a leap of faith on this router, hoping it would help me access internet from the corner of my room.It did that and much, much more. This $50 router was the best investment I have made in a long time! It sped up my download speed from 10-12mbps to 70-90mbps. These ping tests were taken both before and after connecting to the TP-Link 5G network. It took less than 5 minutes to set the entire thing up. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!!!

Update – My original review is below the —-While this product worked for the first 5 days well it started losing connectivity intermittently, like every few hours. I would just totally lose connectivity. I know the modem is good but the router would just stop putting out signal. I tried all the troubleshooting, update firmware, factory reset, etc. Finally, today it just stopped working at all. Completely ineffective. I plugged my older router in, all works well. Reset and plug this one in, no signal. I may have got a lemon. I am returning and will go with a higher quality brand. I don’t have time to continually mess with a router.———— Original review:This thing is the bomb diggidy! I have been banging my head why my WiFi has been garbage since I moved into my new house this year. I am paying for 150mbps, the modem was in good shape and I was using only a 3 year router. Buy when I plugged hardwire into the internet I was getting good speeds. So I decided to get this new router and give it a go. Man this thing made all the difference. I was using a $25 router I bought 3 years ago and the upgrade to this one blew me away. Guess I paid the price for going too cheap on the last router. Coverage through the house is good now and I am routinely clocking over 100mbps all over the house, something I never had on the old router.Setup was also stupid simple using their app.

I was so worried about unplugging Frontier’s Router that I pay 10 dollars a month to rent. I pulled out the quick setup guide and I followed the EASY instructions and wala! My internet speeds are better than when I had the cheap Frontier router hooked up. Also Frontier really screws you with the $10 per month router rental fee. That’s 120 dollars a year I never have to pay again. I am super happy! Thank you TP-Link ! I have already recommended this Router to my Father who also has Frontier Fios.

I was getting 480MB/s Connected directly to my Modem. As soon as I connected this Router it cut my speeds by 75% and kept getting slower every test I did. I tried umteen different fixes, configs, and installed the latest firmware. Nothing worked, disappointing to say the least. At least I can get my money back.

First of all, I do not like the way the product is delivered. It was delivered to me without package box (see picture). It does not have plastic wrap on the product box. Not even a piece of tape sealing the box. It makes me think if it a used product. The plastic bag holding actually device seems to be opened… odd. Does anyone have their delivered like that?To be fair, setup is quite easy, it is plug and play it recognize it and I am able to connect to it with the default setting. I have yet to change any setting yet so I am not sure if interface is friendly. In term of Signal and speed, i thought i will be faster than the Verizon Fios router. I have a 940mb fios connection. Fios wifi speed is at 200mb-235mb up/down. I purchased this router thinking it will provide more speed but it actually under perform the Fios router. It was at 200-210mb when close to the router. It decrease to 100mb when i’m 20-30 feet away.

Our Internet service comes from cable but their built-in WiFi seemed a bit slow. I got the TP-1750 as it was reasonably priced compared to high end units. I tested speed with the provider’s router and the TP-1750 is moderately higher so I am happy with the purchase. Set up is extremely easy. instructions were clear and I am pleased with this purchase.

    JRSIV Music Ltd. – July 23, 2019

I bought the TP-Link AC1750 to replace a positively ancient D-Link router I’ve used since 2010 or earlier. It’s one of those tech items that don’t inspire sessions of gear lust and drooling over the specs of the latest iteration. Once a WiFi router works we set it & forget it. I’ve known that was a mistake but still figured if my old one kept chugging along, what ain’t broke…After lots of intermittent drops and various internet weirdness I broke down and decided to get a new router. I studied the state of the WiFi internet router art for a few days, VERY thoroughly, and this model kept coming up in recommendations across the web. It’s competitive price and free return guarantee made it relatively painless and when it arrived setting it up was the same. The Android/Apple app that TP-Link has to control the routers functions made the entire process minutes vs. hours (I’ve spent hours before putting fussy technology into service), this was a breeze. The included pic shows the results. I’m averaging over 200% (!) better speeds than I was with the old D-Link router. Because this routers dual bands are broadcast separately you pretty much have two networks, the 2.4 & 5Ghz. The 2.4Ghz has better range and the 5Ghz has greater speeds; having that option is great and it means more devices can use the separate networks, reducing congestion. This is a seriously stout router for the cost and I’m extremely pleased with it. The routers optional mobile app has a ton of features you can dig into if you want to get deep into all of the routers possibilities, and it’s also about as plug and play as it gets. During the mobile browsing, streaming and gaming I’ve done so far the TP-Link hasn’t dropped a signal and the speeds have been insane. Great router, great deal. Highly recommended.

I read the reviews on this product and was actually recommended by other professionals. I use this as my wireless access point to my Head End Mixer for live bands. Setting this up was very easy and I’m able to hook up my laptop direct and also use my iPad to control the Live Sound Mix remotely with no latency issues or interference. It’s not hooked to any existing wifi or to the internet, just my own local network. Very easy to connect to either the 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz connections. I use the 5 Ghz as there was no interference from all the cell phones and wifi devices all around the gig. Great price, easy set up and no issues at any events I’ve done. I’ve walked as for as 100’+ away from the stage and stayed connected and instance response to any changes or adjustments I made on my iPad. Recommended!

I really like this unit, and had few issues setting it up, other than parental controls. I tried to block internet to my son’s phone at night. I ended up blocking ALL devices except my computer, and the time it started didn’t match the time I set it to start. I tried to follow the instructions, but they are VERY confusing, and I’m probably going to have to resort to calling tech support to get it set up correctly. And I say that as a fairly tech-savvy individual. I got this partially because of the parental controls and replaced an Xfinity XFi combo router/cable modem. The XFi parental controls are MUCH easier to set up, much more logically laid out, and much more user friendly once they are set up.

These are images of wifi speeds (standing next to the router) vs wired speeds. Tech Support will only suggest to update software, which doesn’t change anything. Very disappointing.

I have Verizon FiOS and I pay for the 300/300 plan and had a tp link 450. Well I figured the 450 would get me up to the 300 download speed since that’s below the advertised 450 speed. Turns out that one was a single band router and this one is dual band! I just needed that gigabit port and boom now I’m reaching my paid for download speed and even going up higher than my paid for upload speed. Really simple installation and the userface is nice. Cool feature to have a USB on the back. You can’t really beat this for the price and it works well with Verizon if you wanna avoid that $12 a month router fee.

PROS:• Relatively inexpensive in comparison to other routers offering the same functionality• Instructions were clear and plug-and-play installation set up was a breeze, with WiFi up and running in minutes• Solid WiFi connection, no dropped connections, unlike previous NETGEAR AC1200 R6120 router requiring a reboot every couple of days• Instantaneous dramatic speed increase in comparison to previous router with only max output of 100 mbps• Signal is amazing, range is simply outstanding, achieving a solid speed connection in my garage with door closed and router located in living room 50 ft away, or upstairs in bedroom with door closed, unlike previous router with intermittent drops• Admin log in page user-friendly and gets straight to the point for beginners, but also provides more advanced settings for professional users• Connection is stable and consistent, with no dropped connections as experienced by other reviewers• Solid connection is perfect for those wanting to cut the TV cord and migrate to live streaming, a huge monthly savings• No dead spots anywhere in 2-story home, reachability not an issue• No buffering loaders while live streaming TV or watching YouTube videosCONS:• None so far*** Tests performed on the 5.0 GHz network with a specific channel instead of set on AUTO, no other devices connected, and Spectrum Ultra (Up to 400 Mbps)***TEST 1:• Direct ethernet cable connection between NETGEAR AC1200 R6120 (~80 Mbps download) and TP-Link AC1750 (~255 Mbps download) shows an improvement of ~300%TEST 2:• WiFi connection between NETGEAR AC1200 R6120 (~42 Mbps download) and TP-Link AC1750 (~216 Mbps download) shows an improvement of ~500%

It’s very obvious someone owned this router before me. The WiFi guy who installed my modem said that TP Link has been refurbishing returned routers and not telling their consumers. Mine was one. When I tried to go into the system it asked for a password. I had not set one up yet. It wouldn’t let me calibrate anything because the previous owner had already done this for themselves. I reset it and it still didn’t work. 3 resets later and it seems to be working okay, but every now and then it gets “disconnected” from the modem for no apparent reason, but otherwise works well.

That itself is fine, if it were made clear. They don’t disclose this in any of the documents I can find. I had to physically see it on the router. (Other than that, the router seems to be operating well.) 1-Star because a company that’s hiding relevant and valuable details, and manipulating, and possibly even being deceptive, is not one I can put my trust in, especially with my communications and network security, and in today’s climate. I’ve been dealing with computers and networking for over 25 years.

Excellent range, lots of useful settings, a true definition of a bang for your buck. It handless my internet speeds like a piece of cake and has no problem feeding all of the devices in the house at each location. I’m happy with my investment. No need to spend hundreds on a router unless you have a really large home, but then again you’ll need more than one router or invest in a wifi mesh system. Goodbye Netgear! Lol

Replaced an older Linksys router that was doing fine with wired connections but getting flaky on the wireless side. I have a 500Mbps symmetrical connection and the most this router could handle wired was ~250Mbps sustained. This router would probably be fine for most of the world, but if you have fiber look for a better model.

Been having connection issues lately at home using an airport extreme that I’ve had for six or seven years. Paying for 200Mb/s getting 40 or so. Ordered this based on some reviews and received same day. Setup was surprisingly straight forward, except that i wasn’t cracking 100 Mb/s on 5G. was planning to go out this weekend and buy five more routers and test them all to replace it. But then i wondered if the ethernet cable might be to blame. i was using the same one already plugged into my modem. it was labeled CAT5e. i replaces it with the one from the box that is CAT5E not expecting to see any difference, well, the SPEED DOUBLED.

I purchased this router after my three year old Apple Time Capsule was giving me connectivity issues. I haven’t had any connectivity issues with this router anywhere in my home and except my bedroom which is way on the other side of my house. I solved that issue with the Wifi extender and haven’t had any issues yet. The router is easy to install and setup but you will need to connect it to you internet gateway via and Ethernet cable which I think is also provided but may not be long enough depending don’t on where you router/gateway is positioned in your home. I would recommend this product!

I had spectrum out twice, got a different brand modem, replaced the router and still having the same problems. The signal drops intermittently and when you plug in the back and run a speed test it’s still around 400 so it has to be the WiFi part of this device that’s faulty. and it’s been the same issue on two devices. Totally fed up.

It is great value but if you have an up and down home it does not reach. If you have single story you should be okay. However, if multiple people are using streaming videos it will lag and 4k streaming will buffer. Unfortunately, I will be returning this unit since it didn’t meet my standards but the price did attract me. This is what shows on one of the rooms upstairs.

This was so simple and easy to set up. Spectrum sent a router that only works on 5G, and because I have several WiFi lightbulbs around my house that require 2.4, I needed a dual-band router that matched my speeds. I want to say that overall, this router does what is supposed to do, but set your expectations accordingly. Here is my experience with this router:Setup: Very easy. I think this is probably the best part about this router as setting it up was extremely easy. Plug in the internet cord, connect to the wifi, download the app, and from there manage the settings. The issue is that there isnt much to manage within the app. You aren’t able to manage connected devices, hide/show your SSID, analyze wifi traffic, or change the password for the individual wifi bands (i.e. 2.4 & 5ghz)as they semi operate as one.Signal: Above average at best. This router was tested in an apartment no more than 900 sqft, and yes signal does reach across the entire apt, but appears to barely do so. The only time full bars were achieved was in direct vicinity of the router.Speed: Average at best. I dont recall a time I tried to stream content (E.g., YouTube, HBO, Prime Video, etc) and my signal did not have to buffer for a second or two; this became really annoying, really quickly. Additionally, if you plan on connecting anything over 3 devices at once, this is not the router for you, as I dont think it can handle more than that and your speed will plummet.Overall, I would only recommend this router if you are someone who will only have less than 3 devices connected and plan on sitting within sight of it. I dont think this is good for a house (not condo/townhome) of any size.

The wired internet worked fine, no problems at all. However wifi speed was abysmal, and that is putting it nicely. I am paying for up to 600Mbps speed from my ISP, however on the 5GHz channel I was BARELY getting 20Mbps, and the 2.4GHz channel got even less than that.I tried several things, resetting the router, allocating the signal to the most, non-occupied channels, optimized channel width, enabled/disabled WMM, nothing helped. All these tests were done less than 5ft from the router.I purchased a different router and it was then that I discovered, the problem was this router, not my internet, I will be returning this and hopefully leaving the problems I had with it behind as well.

This was a great device for exactly 2 months, no complaints, and never had a problem. After 2 months of use (delivered April 15th, dead June 16th), it just died. While technically not entirely dead, as the power LED still functions, it doesn’t do anything.-The reset button does nothing, even after attempting the 30-30-30 rule.-The web-based page that should work even without internet, says it can not connect.-The WiFi shows as “not in range” while right next to it.I’ll be leaving it on until the new router shows up (maybe Netgear won’t waste my money), but even if it does start working again I won’t be using it as I can’t trust TP Link to make a working product.

We have been using this router for several months. Got Google Fiber and the fiber box had very poor performing wi-fi for our needs. We have a 2,290 sq ft house and we needed an add on to meet the needs of the electronics we use. This router does the job for us, managing several items in conjunction with wi-fi extenders. Like that we can create a visitor’s account and place restrictions as needed. I would recommend restarting the router to fresh updates and clear cache.Easy to set up and wall mount. The app is great to manage the account and services – does not give you full account services just what you need to be mobile.

I’ve been using this router for about 2 weeks now. I havent had any drastic issues so far. The verizon tech hooked it up for me. The setup was pretty easy. The connection is strong but I live in a 2 bedroom apartment so I’m not really able to test its strength but it’s better than comcast buffering I was going through. I have 200bps which is way more than I need. I would definitely reccomend over paying the rental fee.
