Boost Your Wi-Fi Coverage

Tired of Wi-Fi “dead zones”? The TP-Link AC1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender connects to your router wirelessly,
strengthening and expanding its signal into areas it can’t reach on its own. The device also reduces signal
interference to ensure reliable Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home or office.

Super-Fast Speed Next Generation AC Wi-Fi

TP-Link’s RE450 comes with next generation 802.11AC Wi-Fi technology, it’s 3 times faster than the standard 802.11n speeds. The RE450 delivers fast speeds of dual band Wi-Fi, providing reliable connections for bandwidth-intensive tasks like HD/4K streaming, lag free gaming, large file downloads.

Gigabit Wired Speed

A gigabit Ethernet port turns the extender into a wireless bridge, letting you connect a wired device like a Blu-ray player, gaming console, DVR, or smart TV to your Wi-Fi network.

Easy Installation & Quick Position

Easy Installation with RE Button

The extender RE450 works with any standard wireless router. Instantly connect the RE450 to a router by pressing the extender’s RE button followed by the router’s WPS button (if available).

Once connected with an existing router, you can take RE450 anywhere within the wireless range of the existing router, no more further configurations.

High Performance External Antennas

Three external dual band antennas (3 x 2dBi for 2.4GHz and 3 x 3dBi for 5GHz) boost your wireless coverage and reliability, helping your devices stay connected anywhere your network reaches.

High Speed Mode

High Speed mode maximizes overall performance by combining the bandwidth of both the 5GHz and 2.4GHz channels to create a lightning-fast connection with one band sending data and the other receiving it.

I have been very happy with this range extender. We have been using it for about a week in order to eliminate the dead zone that was in our master bedroom and it has been everything that we hoped for.The only reason that I have rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the size of the device itself. The device doesn’t fit very well in a top outlet even though the picture would indicate that it would.

I did NOT receive money to write this review. I began my search for a wifi “booster” because our new AT&T router did not reach out bedroom across the house, it’s in our office. I read waaaaaay too many articles and reviews online, I got way overwhelmed and more confused. I knew I was not that tech saavy so I needed a simple set up, did not want to have to create a new wifi name blah blah blah, I also wanted it to plug into the wall because we have the perfect wall socket in our living room. i recieved the device 5 minutes ago, after ordering it Sunday after a glass or two of wine. It took a total of 3 minutes to set up, I went with option two which is the WPS or wifi protected set up. It would have only taken 90 seconds but I accidentally hit the power button when I was at the third and final set upset so had to wait for it to power back up. So now it’s running and I can use Internet and Netflix in our bedroom! I’ll update post once we try to stream 4K and download movies! So far, it’s been easy, quick and totally works! PHEW!!!! Black plug in photo is not apart of the wifi extender!

We live in a four story town house and needed an extender to boost our signal strength to pur third floor (router is on our first floor). Ordered this and haven’t had connectivity issues since on our third floor. The signal strength is week on the fourth floor, but we could just move the router to our second floor and that would solve the issue. I also really like the option to turn off the light that it has for those that have the extender in their room.

I ordered this Wifi extender because I needed an upgrade from a tiny Netgear model that was only capable of 300 mbps. That may be fine for inside the home, but I needed something that could extend about 125 feet and still be relatively fast. I believe I got that from this TP-Link Extender.SETUP:Setup couldn’t have been easier. You actually have two options: One with setup online and the other setup using the WPS button on your router. Both options are detailed in the included instruction manual. I chose the WPS option. All I had to do was plug in the extender, press the big round button on the front of it, and then press the WPS button on my router. That was it. The extender took care of the rest. It found the router and connected within seconds. I then moved the extender to a location about 125 feet away from the router.PERFORMANCE:I will include photos of a speed test I ran back in July with my old Netgear and the speed test I ran today with this new TP-Link extender. You can see my speeds have increased quite a bit, especially the download speed. And as I stated this is all at a distance of about 125 feet. I can tell a big difference when I am cruising the internet. It is so much less frustrating now. Of course this TP-Link extender is a higher quality extender than my old Netgear one so it should be expected to perform much better.INCIDENTALS:This extender was larger than I was expecting. It measures 6.5” in height, 3” in width, and a little over 1.25” in depth. There are three antennas which add an additional 2.5” to the measurements. The antennas are multi-positionable.FINAL THOUGHTS:Overall I am super pleased with this extender. I am happy to have found one that is dual banded, fast, and a breeze to set up.

I have not tried any products like this, nor was I aware of this product prior to this trial. We have two tv’s in the house, prior to trying out TP-Link Wi-Fi range extender, we were using a Ethernet cable that we were constantly stepping on or over and it became annoying. Now we don’t have to do that. It works great and I was able to log right into Hulu to watch my shows. Only downside was that during set up it kept kicking me out and every time I had to log back in and that became very annoying. Also, the cord they provide that plugs from the extender into the blu ray player is very short! That’s not very helpful either. Consumers who buy this product will have a hard time getting it to reach their blu ray player if it’s not conveniently right next to the range extender. I would probably not recommend this to my family and friends nor would I buy it unless they fixed the short cable and fixed the timing out issue on website. *I reviewed this product courtesy of Viewpoints, all opinions are my own.

I had zero expectations using a wifi repeater. I had heard such mixed reviews. That being said, I am blown away at how easy this was to set up and the results I am getting for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency are great.Highly recommend.Check out my screenshot. That is not a typo.

    Nate – March 11, 2017

I had a serious problem in my home. The cable outlet came in through the far south end of our home so there was a problem getting full signal to the far north and up stairs. After doing reviews this seem like a good choice and I’m glad I did. We have a complicated setup with Xbox. 5 Amazon Alexa devices, smart switches, smart sockets, smart thermostat, many tablets, computers and phones. Setup was too simple with WPS. Even the manual way is just simple. Within a few minutes my wifi 2G and 5G was extended all over my home which is 3300 square feet. I use Netgear Wifi analytics app and was getting 100% signal all over our home. I took a walk down the street and my signal was just amazing. So now all over my home and back yard we have fast wifi. I cant speak on the issues I see folk reporting because this thing just works. If you have a router with WPS this works seamless even if you have to plug in the cable it does not take much know how. Good product TP-Link

    HalfGeek – March 20, 2017

i am blown away by how well this worked. We have an almost dead zone in my parents’ family room, where we like to sit and watch tv at night. The connection is weak and flits in and out. I first tried an Airport Express, but that only works well with an Apple router, and even when I found my old Apple router, maybe that extender doubled the speed of my connection. It wasn’t great. Worse yet, the Apple extender kept losing the signal, and I’d have to unplug and replug it every day. So I returned it, and based on reviews on a few tech sites, claiming this had great range and fast speeds, I bought the AC1750 extender. I am blown away.1. Set up. Easy as can be. We have an xfinity router from Arris, password protected. All I had to do was plug the extender in, let it boot up, press the WPS buttton on the router, then press the “lock” button on the extender, and half a minute later it was done. (In fact, I had to press the wps button a second time on the router, as the first time nothing happened.) That was all I had to do, and it worked!2. Function. We tried a few different electrical outlets in the family room. The first “only” increased the internet speed by a factor of ten. Just on a lark I plugged it in in a different outlet in the same room. Now our connection in that room is faster by a factor of 20. It’s insane. I’ve attached a Speedtest image. The 4-5 mbps download speeds in that image are before I installed the extender. The 37-58 Mbps speeds are from the first location of the extender. And the 88-89 Mbps speeds are from the final location. That’s the same speed I get when standing next to our actual Arris router in the kitchen.I simply cannot believe this thing works as well as it does. It’s been a day and so far it hasn’t lost the connection at the final location. It did not however like the previous location, and was blinking its disatisfaction, so you just move it.The only real negative I found is what someone else reported: you can log into the extender via a URL once. The second time you try, you get an error, and then it’s far more complicated to log in without resetting the entire thing. Also, I tried to update the firmware and kept getting error messages when unzipping the firmware download. Still have solved either of those problems. But that aside, this is an amazing device. I’ve tried three other extenders in this house, and this is the only one that has consistently worked, not dropped the signal, and has boosted the signal to speeds equal to standing right next to the main router. It’s only been 24 hours that I’ve had this extender, and I’ll update this review if things change, but this thing is simply amazing.UPDATE: It’s been a few weeks and this thing hasn’t lost the signal once. Can’t praise this enough. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for, for several years now.

We have a 2,700 square foot, two-story house and the router is upstairs. The WiFi signal is very weak at the other end of the house, so we need a solution. This range extender was easy to set up, but first I had to figure out if my router was dual-band. My Netgear router doesn’t have any indication whether it’s dual-band or not, so I Googled the model number. I found out it was dual-band, so I had to use Option ONE on the Quick Setup Guide in order to get both 2.4 GHz and 5GHz to connect. Setup was very simple and the Start Up Guide is good. Once the unit was up and running, I relocated it to the distant part of the house and saw a big difference. Before installing the extender, I was seeing 3.06 Mbps down and 0.56 Mbps up. With the extender, I see 28.29 Mbps down and 34.89 Mbps up. My only complaint so far — and it’s a small one – is that the unit is big. Plugging it into a standard wall outlet basically covers both outlets. But so far, it works and all is well.

I have to use a Wi-Fi extender in my house, because my husband, in his infinite wisdom, set up all external connections in the garage. That means our connection for Wi-Fi has to go through concrete walls, electronics, the entire kitchen, dining room, etc to get to the living room and the three bedrooms which are on either side of the house. That means we have spots that just don’t work as well as other spots. I have been through a number of extenders (including TP-Link) and some work better than the others. The software is usually where I have an issue previously. Sometimes it was easy to set up, other times, not so much. This was easy. And it gives me more range. I can go outside with my phone and walk around the yard without losing my Wi-Fi signal and going into my minutes. The most difficult part was trying to open the box!

I worried it was going to be to complicated for me because of not very tech savvy but it turned out to be simple to connect. I plugged in the device and touched the big button right on the front, it took about 10 secs to go from flashing to a solid blue. I touched the WPS on our wifi router and within 45 secs it had connected. I went into my wifi setting and selected the TP-Link wifi option and that was it…You can chose to use whatever password you want but I kept mine the same as my other wifi password for simplicity. It does require a 3 prong (grounded) outlet. My son has school online and his interactive classes sometimes lag so that was the purpose of us getting this and since we have started using it he hasn’t had any lag issues.. so for us it’s a win!

I already had a wireless extender (a Linksys), however due to how our house is arranged, even with the extender installed the living room is very weak (the router is in the back bedroom the extender is in the master bedroom, the signal from the extender has to go through several walls so by the time it gets to the living room it’s kinda weak). So I thought I’d give this TP-Link AC2600 a shot.Installation was fast and easy, just plugged it in near the router, scanned for the new extender, logged into it’s IP address, and with just a few mouse clicks, and it was working. Easy. Well then I started to think… can I extend the already installed Linksys range extender? So I reset the TP-Link, went into the master bedroom, plugged it in next to the Linksys extender, and sure enough it saw that signal just fine. Entered the password and everything seemed to be working. Removed it from the master bedroom, moved it closer to the living room (an outlet in the dining room), and BAM! I had a solid signal in the living room. Not only is the signal solid, its not even slowed down enough to matter (see attached photo). The Android app works well which was a bit shocking to me as most of these apps tend not to work. While connected to the TP-Link in the living room, I have not experienced any drops or disconnects at all, so it’s really stable. The ONLY downside I have for it, is that no matter how you plug it in it will block the other outlet. So kiss both AC outlets goodbye when you plug this in.

TP-Link AC2600: Works great, almost no lag and easily tripled my WiFi coverage area. The speed is great, we’ve had a desktop and my iPad streaming HD Netflix with no lag. Setup is easy if your router is a TP-Link, simply press the WPS button and the main round button on the front of the extender, wait a minute and you’re done. Automatic connection after that point as it basically mimics your existing router so no new passwords or logging in is required. The app is very useful, especially when limiting certain devices from accessing the extender, but it can be buggy (iOS). The AC2600 is pricey but overall worth the investment if you’re having connectivity problems. I’ve had the lower-end models and they can’t even compare with the performance and ease of use; it would have been faster and cheaper to just get this and have been done.Notes: The LEDs are bright at night but can be turned on/off with a convenient button on the side of the unit. The unit is larger than I had thought, it will dominate any outlet it is attached to. I have mine on a short extension cord. Pic attached.

We have Xfinity Cable & equipment and In the basement “man cave” we were only able to get 20mbps MAX due to the weak signal from the xfinity’s modem most of the time it was much slower. After lots of research we ended up pulling the trigger on this device and I’m very happy we did. The Install was simple and easy using WPS with no issues. I tried both the wireless side (180mbps on average) with the Ethernet cable plugged into the PC from the TP-Link we get a consistent & legitimate 200+mbps!

At first I was getting slower speeds than if I connected to the main router. That’s because I had only selected to show 2Ghz range. I did a factory reset, and selected to show both 2Ghz and Ghz bands, and I get the same fast speed as if I connected to the main router. I was trying to connect my PS4 to the extender, and I was getting really slow speeds. That’s because PS4 only picks up 2Ghz. Good thing this device has an ethernet port, which I was able to connect my PS4, and I get the speeds I want. Only problem though, it’s been 10 minutes, and the final management page is still trying to finish. Though I am connected to the extender and have internet connection. During the first set-up I close the window, and I was not able to get back onto the management page. Now sure how long I have to wait. Second thing, during the first set-up, some of my devices were connected to the extender, but were not getting any internet. Device showed that it was getting internet, and some of the devices were getting internet; however, mac and PS4 were not, and sometimes my iphone did not get any connection either

UPDATED REVIEW :In my original review below I gave this extender 4 stars. With it installed close to the router it seemed to be performing well in both the 2.4 and 5.0. The signal strength was good and the speed tests, as you can see below, were very acceptable. All was well, for a couple of days, and then the 5.0 began to fail. After five or six resets I gave up trying to use the 5.0 and started using the 2.4. Although not as fast it was still fast enough to keep up with anything I do. Because it’s 2.4 is faster then my other extender I was considering just keeping this one in spite of its 5.0 failure. Well, it only took a day and a half before the 2.4 followed in the footsteps of the 5.0. I didn’t buy this extender to power it on and off 5 or 6 times a day, so back it goes. My other extender, an MSRM, my not be as fast but it’s much more reliable. To the seller: If you don’t want peoples experience with this extender to turn them against trying your other products, as you state in every negative review response I’ve read, then here’s my advice to you…GET IT RIGHT OR DONT SELL THEM!! As you can see below, I tried to be fair and did everything necessary to allow this extender to perform at its best, but it’s just a bad product, or at the very least many of them are. Do you really expect people to believe that your other products are going to be any better? Come on, get real….Time to go shopping for a 5.0 MSRM.ORIGINAL REVIEW :You have to be fair to the extender. It is MUCH more important that the extender be close to the router than be close to you, especially when we’re talking about the 5.0 signal. Placing the extender 20 or 30 feet from the router, especially if there is a wall or two between them, is not going to cut it when we’re talking about using a 5.0 signal. Remember, the signal strength you see on your device reflect your connection to the extender, NOT the signal strength between the router and the extender. If that signal is weak your full signal bars shown on your device is meaningless. Now, that being said, of course you want to place the extender as close as possible to the area you want to extend to, but not at the expense of signal strength between the extender and the router. To find the best location to place the extender, stand next to your router and connect your device to your 5.0 router signal. You device should now show full bars signal strength. Now, start walking in the direction of the area you want to extend to while keeping an eye on your signal strength. At the first sign of a weakening signal that’s your distance limit. You must place the extender within that distance. Anywhere outside of that and you’re going to have 5.0 connection issues between your device and the extender regardless of the signal strength between your device and the extender. In reading many of the negative reviews I believe this is the cause of many of them because I had most of these issues myself until I placed the extender within the full strength 5.0 signal range of the router. The first picture below show the speed test of my 5.0 signal between my iPad and my router at the location I placed my extender. In the second picture I connected to the extender and ran the speed test while being right next to the extender. The 4 star rating is because I was disappointed with the amount of speed loss, but it’s still quite fast. I then went into the bedroom, the area I wanted to extend to, closed the door and ran the test. Although there was quite a bit more speed loss, my connection is stable and still fast enough for video streaming despite having two instead of three bars of signal strength. (After submitting this review I realized I didn’t show this speed test results. Picture 5 is the results) I will add that without the extender I can’t get any 5.0 signal in the bedroom and my 2.4 is only one bar and unusable. However my extender 2.4 signal is three bars and quite fast. Picture 3 reflects that test. Picture 4 shows the test of the 2.4 one bar router signal I mentioned. So far, over all I would recommend this extender, and as long as it keeps working the way it is now I will be pleased. I will update this review if anything changes.

I purchased this device to extend my WiFi range and to have a file share desktop computer “hard wired” into the port on the side. And based off reviews and since I have other Tp-Link products that work great on my network, I purchased the AC1750. When working, it works great. I can share files from desktop with the rest of my network devices with awesome speed. But when it’s not working it’s terrible. I had issues from the very first day. The device would loose connection with my network and I had to constantly(multiple times during the day or even within the hour) power off and on the device to re-establish connection to the network. I included a screenshot to show how it looses connection after I restarted the device, look at the icmp_seq# and how fast it drops connection. Would never recommend this product.

Impressive….I was skeptical at first about WI-FI extenders but seeing my router is located upstairs and my shop/business is downstairs Ive been having trouble with lag and sending and receiving.. First let me say the set-up was simple as can be.. Plug it in hit the WPS on my router it linked up and its all done.. I also performed a speed test pre-post so Id know what i was getting for my $$$… My download speed was 70MBPS at my main router. Downstairs in the shop at the laptop location it dropped to 39MBPS. Today i did another speed test after install of the extender and my new download speed was 68MBPS…Almost exactly what it was upstairs… (Speed test photo included) Needless to say I am impressed and couldn’t be happier with the results.. Highly recommended.. Matt

I previously had the Netgear plug-ing style range extender (2). They were difficult to set up and didn’t work well at all. Signal way up and down, weak or not working at all. They even interfered with my router’s original signal. So I purchased the TP-Link AC1750 looking for a good extender. Well to my surprise it’s just not good its great! Really easy to set up (only had to do it one time) and it worked right away. Good strong signal so far with no drop out. I am very satisfied with this (so far). You don’t have to be an IT expert to set it up. Just follow the quick set up directions. If you have been frustrated and dissatisfied with other extenders like I was, give this one a try. Happy surfing!

3K square foot house with the router in the garage and my desktop upstairs. It extends the signal farther than my router by quite a bit and the ethernet port is great for added reliability. All this comes with a big caveat though, you *MUST* upgrade the firmware from their website. The built-in update tool *does not* find the latest firmware and without the latest firmware this device barely functions. Before the update I was dropping packets by at least 5% and my ping times fluctuated all over the place. This thing is LARGE, but I don’t think anyone looking for 4×4 MIMO, Beamforming, and QAM with these speeds will mind.

I had been looking at multiple extender packages with 3-6 units in each, then I came across this one that covers up to 14,000 sq/ft. Easy to install using the phone app (I suggest using phone app not pc) it increased my range tremendously, especially for my Ribg device, security cameras, and Nest. It also seemed to to take pressure off of my modem giving it greater strength. Dual band and multiple platform technologies, I highly suggest this one if you are looking for an extender.

Bought this because the signal across the house is weak, I’ve been messing around getting it set up deciding if it helped at all and now I can’t return it because it’s been too long. $150 down the drain. I tested the speeds in two different locations in the house, with and without the extender, across the house both produce about the same results with the extender being a little slower (photos 1 &2 ). If I move to an equal distance between the router and the extender the results are DISMAL (compare photos 4 & 5). There’s no point to using this, it doesn’t improve anything. It would be nice if you could plug an ethernet cable into it to boost the signal, but it can’t do that, it has an ethernet jack, but that is to use for devices that are hard wire only.

It would be nice if you could plug an ethernet cable into it to boost the signal, but it can’t do that, it has an ethernet jack, but that is to use for devices that are hard wire only.

I’ve tried 4 different WiFi Range Extender and they all had problems with the range or far almost strong speed drops. Due to the prices around 30-50 USD no surprise, I guess. Now, after investing a big amount into the topic I am happy that I really receive nearly 100 mbits and more in the whole apartment. This item makes a good impression in terms of physical quality and user experience. I can really recommend it… and in case I will have some issues within the next months, I gonna update this review. I hope this helps everyone who is looking for a solid product.

Whoa, was much larger than I expected. See photo comparing it to my older/smaller/slower/less sophisticated model. Other than being less conspicuous than I hoped, I am very happy with it. I bought this because I have several appliances with wifi, but were too far from my router to sustain a connection. Now everything is consistently staying connected. Very Happy about this! For fun I compared connections speeds using my iPhone and MacBook; definitely much faster through this extender when at that end of the house compared to the signal degradation over distance that occurs without this. The free App is GREAT too, I can monitor/confirm all my devices are connected and I can even change the names they display as.There is also a feature that helps you pick an optimal location for the unit. Rather than unplugging/plugging in different outlets and waiting for it to reboot, I put it on a long extension cord and walked around the house testing different locations, just remember to pause in each spot and give it a chance to register. Managed to find an outlet w/ discrete placement and a strong connection to all necessary devices. I highly recommend. Easy to set up and use.

Saved hundreds of dollars with this purchase! We just purchased a new home which has a small guest house about 40 feet away that was not getting any usable WiFi coverage. I researched online to see what the best outlet extenders were and this was highly recommended. I ordered this via Prime, got it in 2 days and 5 minutes after taking it out of the box had it set up and plugged in the outlet closest to the guest house. It worked perfectly and I highly recommend. I noticed in some of the comments it said that it blocked the whole outlet, but I plugged it in the top outlet and the bottom is still functional.

I have to restart the device in order to reestabash the connection between the main router and this to link WiFi booster router device. Multi device works but unstable.I am keeping it for now to monitor how well the WiFi connition is. Maybe best to return this router for full refund. I am thinking about buying different brand and different router.

If your internet provider isnt mcdonalds, then youll have an amazing speed when this is used. I personally have Xfinity and get amazing speeds. Before i used this, my router was rooms away and my download speed was about 40mbps. Now it shot way up to about 150mbps and even 260mbps at times. This thing does the job but also make sure you have a relaible internet provider!

I was afraid about that because in Bahrain we’re using UK electricity systems. So you will need only an adapter because RE650 coming with US plug.

This product was super easy to hook up (I’m only very mildly tech savvy). Also, I was able to hook it up using the browser on my iPhone even though the instructions were only for Pc or Mac. And, the signal strength is great! I particularly wanted signal where there was none on our outdoor covered porch (separated from the router by one floor, exterior walls and sliding glass doors). Now I got full bars out there, and everywhere else in my house that was previously spotty coverage or none at all. Finally, I had previously ordered a non named brand router and had to send it back bc it was terrible. This was a great purchase and worth the slightly higher cost.

This product apparently was not coded for vendor interoperability. I have a Nighthawk AC2600 Router that is rock solid. As soon as I added this WiFi extender, I noticed the WiFi drop for a solid 2-3 seconds when handing off and taking over as the BSS area for my mobile devices. I’ve read other reviews of people who have TP-Link routers with no issues. Although I can’t verify the former comments since I have a Netgear, I would say If you have a non TP-Link routers, stay away from this model.

After buying a cheaper extender that had good reviews, I had to send it back. Signal tests showed that it was not boosting signal strengths and speed tests showed slowing. So I bit the bullet and paid a little more for this TP link. I have used TP-Link routers in the past with good results. The unit was very easy to setup and worked on the first try. Signal and speed tests exceeded my expectations. I did have trouble when I went to register the product online. The website said that I had an invalid serial number. I was able to talk to a real person at the Help Desk (866-225-8139 ) who fixed the problem after I sent them an image of the serial number and proof of purchase. Don’t waste your time with the virtual chat bot. So all-in-all, I highly recommend this extender.

You don’t need to spend the extra money because from my past experience, it is not worth spending the extra money. There are other TP-Link Wi-Fi Extenders but the are a piece of crap. I purchased one and it was worthless. I know that this one cost $58.99 but it is well worth every penny. Please take my advise and spend the extra money to purchase it. It is dual band (2GHz & 5GHz) and has a strong signal strength. It just plugs into a wall socket and will not block the other outlet. Pasadena Girl – March 23, 2020

Solved our “dead zone issue”. Before installing, 35 feet from our router our bandwidth went from 400 Mbs to near zero. Here’s how install went: After plugging device in, if you have dual band (2.4 GHz and 5G) the instructions tell you to wait for both bands to be illuminated on the device. But only the 2.4 GHz lit up. (see picture). The troubleshoot “options” include using the “Tether” app. I installed the Tether app successfully but still, only the 2.4 GHz band lit up but as you can see in the picture, my available wifi lists now include 5GEXT (EXT = TP-link wifi extender). So I tested it and the new wifi access point worked. So my only complaint is the bandwidth indicator lights are not reliable – the 5G light on the TP-link device is still dark but 5G is alive and well on my network!

This is a quality item that is super-easy to install if your router has a WPS button. There are two other alternative methods if your router does not have a WPS button, but that is the easiest way. It literally took me less than 2 minutes to set it up and that included unboxing.Simply remove the unit, plug it into a wall outlet somewhere near your router, and push the large button on the Range Extender. In a few seconds, the flashing light turns solid blue. Now, push the WPS button on your router. The range extender begins flashing and when the little blue flashing lights on the range extender turn solid blue, you have a solid wifi extension. Unplug the extender now and it remembers the settings.Take the unit to a room in your home where wifi is poor and plug it in. The unit will begin flashing and when the little blue lights turn solid blue again, voila, instantly extended wifi. The signal is great and the unit works flawlessly. If anything changes regarding reliability or failure, I will post a follow-up review.

I don’t really notice much of a difference. At night our WiFi is still spotty. I wish there was an easy guaranteed way to boost WiFi in our house. But for the price, it was worth a shot.

I use this product to extended my wireless network to get better service on my second floor. This product started out pretty good, internet would drop from time to time but resetting the router would reconnect it to the internet. Today the router went out after having it for 4 months and would not power on. I talk to customer service and they walk me through a few technical troubleshooting, however, there was no solution. I still had the same problem, the product still would not power on. Then i was told this by the customer service rep:service rep: upon checking here since the extender goes down the warranty on this extender goes invalid any moreMe: ok I do not understand? My warranty goes to 2022….are you saying that my warranty is no longer valid because this product stop working?Service rep: yes because of the cause of the extender to stop working the warranty got voidedMe:so basically i am stuck with a defected product that I only had for 4 months and there is no way of getting a replacement?Service rep: That is correct, sorry about thatSo basically, i would not recommended this product, they give you a 2 year warranty however if the product loose power they will not replace it. Now i am stuck with a useless Range Extender, I wouldn’t be upset if it lasted at-least a year, but 4 months and you void my warranty. Thats just bad business and service.

Well, I was super excited on this extended, but the signal is inconsistent. When I FINALLY got it hooked up this morning, it ran great – got 212mbps download whereas before I was only getting 50. Now I’m not even getting 1mbps (see video)!! I’m having to use my cellular data to write this review right now.I’m giving it 1 more day and if it continues to act this way then I’m returning. I’ll update y’all with my findings. Thus far, I would not recommend this product.

I hooked this up to my Netgear Nighthawk by pushing the buttons like they said, and suddenly my signal to the back room, where my wife and I spend most of our time, shot up to max! It was just like so many people said, “this puppy works like you wanted it to”! So far, it’s all 5 star. If there is something that looks like a “Doohickey”, this is it, but it works!(That’s it guys, when do I get my free doohickey?)Follow up to follow…..

This device boosted the signal from my Xfinity router to my Blink cameras in my yard that we’re having signal issues. It also boosted the signal to my devices in my home theater in the basement. So my router is in the front of the 1st floor. The booster is in the kitchen towards the back of the house close to the yard. Also with this, now I can use my laptop on the deck. I think the 3 antennas is the trick vs having a hidden antenna. Hope this review helps.

Purchased the RE505X as soon as it was available… I really wanted an extender/mesh access point with a hardwired ethernet port while I’m stuck working from home. The RE505X has not disappointed.I have an existing TP-Link A7 router (OneMesh compatible) + the RE300 (OneMesh compatible) as a small mesh network at home… it’s been very good but I have something like 30 wifi devices in my home and particularly wanted my work computer to have the best connection possible… enter the RE505X with the ethernet port and more link capacity. (**See pictures to compare RE505x vs RE300: they are not in the same locations, but roughly close in distance and interference from the base station A7 router. Not a perfect comparison, but pretty good)As a OneMesh system, the set-up was ridiculously easy. Not even worth commenting on, easy. Signal/connection to the router has been strong through a couple walls + and ceiling/floor. Connection and handoff of devices through the mesh/OneMesh network has been seamless. I’m very pleased. As the RE505X is a WiFI6 compatible device, I plan to stick with TP-Link OneMesh and hope to upgrade my router to a WiFi6 version when those are available.
