A quick installation guide is provided. Setup is quick and easy. Once this is setup, when I opened the browser, it is automatically directed to Xfinity activation page. The product’s configuration is pretty clear. See attached photo.I have an existing Zoom cable modem+ router model 5350, which I got more than 4-5 years ago.. Sometimes I have problem with my wifi access and leads me to wonder is the problem related to Comcast or Zoom. Both Zoom and TPLink supports wireless standards 802.11b/g/n.I used 2 android apps, Wifi Analyzer and Speedtest to evaluate Zoom and TPLink side-by-side. This is performed close to the same time span (around 2 to 4 pm). I evaluated using 3 different locations in my home. I found using Zoom, there are 2 locations out of these 3, that wifi access is very difficult. This product’s signal strength clearly offers more than 10dBm improvement over Zoom, in all 3 locations, based on WifiAnalyzer results. In terms of download (36.45-83.68Mbps) and upload (5.13-6.55Mbps) speed, again it clearly surpasses Zoom’s download (0.4-1.41Mbps) and upload (0.38-1.21Mbps) speed in all 3 locations, based on Speedtest results.Overall, this product is excellent and I highly recommend this, if you are planning to change an existing cable modem + wifi router.Note: The android app Wifi Analyzer is useful for setting up the wifi router’s channel. In general, factory default channel is auto. From Wifi Analyser list, I would choose a channel that is least populated by the APs.

If you’re considering this, don’t. It shaved 40% off my internet speed (see pic) and struggled to keep more than a few devices connected, none at more than 3 of 5 bars..Last fall Comcast sent me an email that they had upgraded the internet in our area and that my 2013 Motorola SB6121 would no longer deliver top speeds. Instead, the TP-Link N300 was on their list of replacement options for better performance. So I picked it up.Setup of the TP-Link N300 was very easy. Once connected to the internet and a browser opened, you can quickly set your security preferences while it automatically installs its newest drivers. The idea of a built-in router cool, but I was concerned about the internal antennae in a mid-sized townhome like ours (probably would’ve worked better in a small apartment). That concern bore itself out as even in the same room, connections struggled to keep 3 of 5 bars connected, and often dipped to 1 or 2. Worse, I speed-tested both within a five minute span and the results were staggering. My 3-year-old Motorola, paired with a TP-Link AC1750 router pops out 127 Mbps down, while this N300 only pulled 80 Mbps. I left the N300 installed for four days to see if my perception of it improved; it did not. My family begged me to change back, which I did on day five. Again I tested both within about five minutes and got similar results. On the software side, I do like TP-Link’s interface. It’s especially helpful that you can set access by device, so I can pop my kids’ phones and kindles offline at bedtime without affecting my wife’s or mine. That’s just not worth the bad connections and bad speed this modem-router delivers. Maybe the next generation will be better.

Say goodbye to Netflix on your PS4/Xbone. Works on all other devices. Other than that, it works as a modem/router.

This 2.4GZ modem router is very slow! It is very slow when I surf the internet during normal hours, not to mention during heavy traffic hours. Use a little bit more money to purchase a better modem router. The speed test can only reach 33Mbps while I am using a 200Mbps internet service plan. What makes it really worse is that this item CAN NOT BE RETURNED! I give one star because the customer service did a good job.Again, do not buy this product unless you are 100% sure this is what you want because IT CAN NOT BE RETURNED.
Scapes –
I was kinda skeptical regarding some of the review I’ve read and the price of this modem/router. However, I thought Id give it a try and it is great and worth every penny. Range is excellent as I live in a 3 story house and the speed id roughly 40–50 MBPS download and 15-35 ping and 11-12 upload. Im currently on a 75 mbps plan with Comcast.

I bought this in January it’s October and it just broke. The whole time I had it I would have to turn it off and then back on again because our Wi-Fi would not work totally not worth the money!

Easy to setup, really fast as well (I switched from Century Link DSL to Comcast, was barely getting 10 mbs now getting 90 mbs!).

No issues with this router, we use time Warner (spectrum) and never had any connection issues since we purchased this, about 3 months now. We stream all our tv content (Hulu, Netflix, hbo, sling tv) and never had any disruptions. This is also a great savings for us, we don’t have to pay the stupid $10/month time Warner equipment rental fees any longer, for using their equipment.
