Requires a reset once every two weeks or so, other than that everything advertised is spot on. Small-medium range, medium level speed. Perfect for one person.

Easy to set up. Piece of cake. Met my expectations. Recommended to friends.

Needed something to bring wifi into the one room of my house that my regular router didnt reach. it is working well now that it is set up, but setup was challenging. The quick-start instructions are all written for using this as a Wifi Repeater, but that would not work in my case. Wifi didnt reach the room i was accessing and placing the repeater half-way was not an option in my house. I wanted to run an ethernet cable to the room and plug it in as an Access Point. This is possible with the device, but I had to go to the manufacturer’s website and download the special instructions for changing settings. it is working now but I wish that this had been easier to set up.An added bonus for this device i didnt know about before buying is the ability to program the status LED to turn off at night.

So I bought this router few months ago and now leaving a review. TL-WR841N v9 is the exact model I bought. For the first few weeks, I loved this router because I was getting a pretty good connection without any issues. However, now I am giving this a three star since I have been getting disconnection issue for a while. I did some research online and it seems like many people are struggling with the same issue on this particular model. I tried firmware update and changing channels (it works for a while) but was not able to completely solve the main problem. Even now I can get good connection maybe for few hours and then wifi gets disconnected. It needs to constantly REBOOTED to work.I tried web browsing with Ethernet cable plugged in and had no problem so I am still not sure what is causing this issue. Based on some research, using DD-WRT (updating firmware through it) might resolve this problem but I heard it might VOID the warranty.Get factory-to-dd-wrt for version 9 […](If you don’t mind taking the risk)**PROS****This device offers the best value for money since it is under $30** Quick and Easy installation: You can find all the instructions online if you need some help**When it is working, it provides great speed**It works with multiple devices such cellphones and laptops as well as tablets**It has a pretty good range**CONS****Need some tweaking to get certain devices to work with it but not sure if it would work for everyone**Wireless connection seems to be unstable for many users based on the reviews (including myself) – This can be a major problem though**Overall**Would I recommend this to anyone?I would say this is a good product considering the price as well as speed and other qualities.HOWEVER….Because of the disconnection issue, I would not recommend this to anyone unless you do not mind try loading alternative firmware such as OpenWRT or reboot it all the time…I will make sure to post updates if I solve this issue.

This is exactly what my old desktop computer needed. We have a desktop in a room in the back of our house which is an added on room. Our wifi signal only shows up as 2 bars because of the exterior solid brick wall that the signal has to go through. I placed the wifi extender directly below the room with the desktop, and about 25 feet away from the router and I now have 5 bars.Speed: We went from getting 0.3mbps this morning (which is when I went to prime now to order this extender) to 16.6mbps after installation! This took my desktop from essentially useless for connecting to the internet, to the speed we get with our other devices close to the router. So glad I don’t need to get a newer computer that receives the wifi signal better.Installation: I actually thought it wasn’t working at first. I read the very thorough instructions, easily installed the extender, and then relocated the extender. When I moved it, I waited for it to stop blinking (took about a minute). In each location I tried (4 locations) the light turned red after blinking for a minute, which means it’s too far from the router. I kept changing locations until I finally plugged it in next to the router where it STILL showed up red. I left the room to do something else, came back a few minutes later, and the light had turned green! The next time I moved it to it’s current location, waited several minutes, and it turned green (after turning red first). Now it’s working perfectly fine and doing it’s job of keeping our desktop internet speeds fast.Instructions: I was a littler wary of buying an unfamiliar brand (versus netgear), but the less that twenty dollar price tag won me over. When I opened the box I was happy to find quick start instructions including 2 options (I had to use the 2nd option), a tech support pamphlet telling me the number and email address for 24/7 tech support, as well as a couple of other papers I didn’t end up needing. I’m really happy with the instructions, they were very quick and easy to read.Bonus: The extender did come with an ethernet cable which at first I thought I would need for installation. It turns out it’s so that you can plug a non-wifi device in to the extender via ethernet. Handy option to have, in case I ever need it.Including photos of the extender, the box contents, and a screenshot of our internet speeds after installation.

This range extender works over 2.4 GHz and does a wonderful job. Would recommend to anyone who need a cheap networking solution.

Honestly, this is one of the most inconsistent routers that I’ve purchased. The Wi-Fi connection works only if I am sitting in the living room where it’s placed. The connection is poor and kicks out at least 3 times a week. I thought that it was Comcast because we all know how they conduct their business. We bought this thinking that it would save us money by not paying $10 a month to rent a Comcast router. But I find myself constantly going to the restart it all the time. The quality of this router is surprisingly disappointing. We bought a new router and the tests are clear. The top test is on the new router. The bottom two results are with this garbage router.Spend some solid money on a router. Lesson learned.

It does not work properly. It shows good signal strength but it say no internet instead of connected even though having ibternet connection. The LED light is green which means it should have goid signal.

My internet signal in the far reaches of my house are WORSE when using the extender than just using the ambient signal alone. Don’t buy this garbage. See pics attached. I am seeking a full refund.

Short version: Great fix for poor wifi connectivity! Can setup by just plugging it in. No need to adjust it at all for the base use case.Bought this to increase connectivity in the farther reaches of my house. In my test I was able to increase wifi signal from 30% without the extender to 70% with.Setup is easy: Plug it in near your existing wifi router and wait for it to find the signal. I assume it looks for the strongest signal – hence the instruction put it next to the router it is extending. After it finds the signal, the onboard light turns solid green. You then unplug it and place it near the edge of your “good” connectivity with your existing router. If the light turns green when you plug it in you are done. You’ll have a new network with the same name as your previous but with “_ext” added. If the light turns red it means the signal is not good enough and you need to move it a bit closer to network you are cloning.I believe it is possible to have it fully clone the existing network name but I prefer not – I like being able to know for sure if I’m on the original or extended network. Only advantage of cloning the name is that you would not need to have your device join the “_ext” network for the first time. Not a big deal for me. Do it once and you are all set. Your devices should then pick the strongest network.Nice bonus that it has an Ethernet port – can do double duty as a port for devices that require a wired connection.

Not a good performance as expected. Max 30Mpbs occasionally. Roommate complained it slow.I move back roommates to netgear N300 wireless route. TP-link router seem useless. but what can I do I want to return it! I think i better buy a mimo wireless router. I am connect to it TL-link. But I am not happy with the signal strength and speed. I think the antennas do not work. Also I want to use N frequency, but I am stuck with only selecting mixed b/g/n wireless. See attached phot for speed test. Yes i do get 20-30 Mbps on occasions – which i no where near 300Mbps advertised – If I can get 50 Mpbs I would be happy. I cable provider gives me 100Mbps.

Easily the best purchase I’ve ever made. I live in a 5 bedroom house with 4 other girls and out of all five bedrooms, mine is the only one that doesn’t get wifi. After months of being on the fence, I finally pulled the trigger and bought this extender. It was so simple to setup, no confusion or surprises at all.
Erin Costello –
Oh man, I am over the moon about this product. My bedroom is the basement of the house, so the wifi just barely reached, and has a very weak signal. This extender is a life saver. It took maybe 2 minutes to set up, the hardest part was getting it out of the box! It amplifies the signal perfectly, and I find that it actually makes my wifi faster, as less people are using it!HouseWifi is my normal wifi signal in my room and the HouseWifi_EXT is the extenders wifi signal in my room. Look at the difference!I will be convincing my family to buy these for the farther parts of the house. In love!!

I installed this router and am pleased so far. Very easy installation even for those who would be afraid to hook it up. Just plug your modem into the back of the router, plug it in, push the small black power button in the back and wait a minute, and you’re set. Just have to go to wifi on your device and type in the IP address from the manual into your device’s browser, wait for the TP-LINK website to appear, then type in the password from the router’s manual. The password or PIN to access wifi finally, is on the bottom of the router and you’re done. Very good signal, looks good, and works well. I’m running 100 Mbps from Spectrum Internet and upload speed of 12 which is great.
Heather –
It’s been just over 2 months since I purchased this router. After resetting it today, per my internet provider’s instructions, it is still going extremely slow. The interned speed tester shows that the wireless speed is much slower than when the computer is wired to the internet. Also, it keeps slowing down to virtually nothing. This was a total waste of money. DO NOT BUY!

The system is really easy to set up. However, after conecting to my Google router (Google Fibertel), the speed only goes up to 72 mbps, when it clearly states that support until 300 mbps. I tried multiple locations (Even next to router) and configirations, but never goes up the 72 mbps. Also is unstable when 2 or more devices are connected, forcing one to disconnect. Wired you have more stability but same spedd limitation. I will return it, because is not what I expected from TP-LINK one of my favorite brands.
Ajax –
For the price the speed is surprisingly fast I watch tons of movies and need a good connection my house is solid brick and would not reach the other side of the house I now have wifi in every inch of our property

I was really excited to try this out based on the reviews. It was very easy to set it up and I thought it would work when the EXT network showed up. I connected – no problem. But then it made my already bad internet, even more terrible. Tried to move it around. In the end I just had to return the extender and connect to the original wifi since it worked better than the extended network (even though the extended shows full strength bars.)

I mainly bought this router so I could have both my pc and ps3 connected via ethernet. The main box was rooms away so I only had access to 1 ethernet line in my room being fed through the walls. With this router I am able to stream games on Youtube at a fairly high bitrate (720p 60fps at high settings in OBS Studio) I’m sure I could push it further but I have no need. During my stream tests I had both my ps3 and pc running via ethernet and my tablet connected via WiFi to monitor the stream @720p 60fps. Did not run into any issues. My connection speed is 75/75 so the device only having fast ethernet and not gigabit ethernet is not a problem for me.So for a sub $20 WiFI router the TP-Link N300 performs well in my tests. If anything changes I will update my review.NOTE: As you can see in the picture I mounted the router to the wall behind my computer with 3M Command Strips to keep it out of the way.

Went from 3 bars wireless to 5 bars wireless. Download speedtest went from 18 Mbps to 23 Mbps. Actual speed went from about 2.3-2.4 MB/s to 2.9-3.0 MB/s. Absolutely worth $20 I paid to get this item.

This is my third of this router. I had already installed 2 in my house, on either side of the house. They are configured with the same SSID and password so basically they just provide great coverage. My house and back yard is rather large however, and I realized at a recent cookout with 50 people that halfway to the back fence, the signal would fail. I decided to buy another one of these and I mounted it outside on the back of the house. I enclosed it in a Ferrero Rocher plastic box and painted it grey. Now the back yard has excellent coverage everywhere. I am running DDWRT – an aftermarket firmware. The factory firmware is fine by the way, but I like the extra power and configuration of DDWRT.

Easy to install, yes, but it doesn’t improve my WiFi speed, it actually lowers it. After removing a conflicting gateway from my router and plugging it directly into the AT&T gateway, I have gotten speeds between 30 to over 100 Mbps throughout the House without this device. With it I get a stronger signal, around 30 dBm, but download speed drops to less than 5 Mbps. I have played around with it for 3 or 4 days attempting various configurations. In my opinion the device doesn’t work for me. What worked was removing and reconfiguring conflicting devices.
Romulous Ledbetter –
Dramatic decrease in internet speed through router. It claims up to 300Mbps but doesn’t seem to be able to even handle 80Mbps with only one device connected.I am pleased with the radius of coverage though. Plus a fairly simple set up with the iPhone App.

Easy setup, moved into an apartment that has free WiFi but needed to buy my own router and plug it into the wall. This one is cheap and so easy to set up, had it up and running in 5 mins. It even comes with a cable.

My printer only support network cable. I plug that cable into this wifi extender. Everything works flawlessly. The admin GUI is open-source and very friendly. Speed is good as well. On the very first try, I got 60 Mbps download and 80 Mbps upload using this range extender. My internet plan is 100 Mbps fiber.

I bought this to use as a secondary router to my main service, it was easy to configure and gave me extra ports for other things such as alarm monitoring. I set it up in our cottage where the signal from the main house router was week due to distance and now have full signal and still only 1 internet provider! No need for expensive second service.
michael freitas –
It came with no instructions and no power or anything.

Worked for 3 months. Better buy a costly for long time

do’t know why my picture is sideways, but this is in my laundry room…more than 50 feet from my router, and it makes my garage door opener work in my detached garage – about 150 feet away from the extender…about 200′ from the router. This works way better than I thought it would.
MissNDMelo –
Omg, this was so easy to use. My husband was in charge of setting up our WiFi in our new house and after 5 years the master bedroom and bath were a dead zone. I decided to do some research and read that this was easy to use and seemed to work. I tried it out and had WiFi in less than 5 minutes. I’m proud of myself and happy I can use WiFi in my bedroom. It’s soooo easy to set up and worked well with my Verizon issued router.

I have a shop located across the street from my house. I have an external WiFi antenna on one of my WRT54GL routers pointed at my shop. See photos. It’s an all metal building and impossible to get a signal from any of my home routers (I have 4) inside the shop. I set this router up with my laptop connected with a CAT 5 then took it to the shop and mounted it at the top of a window. I get a great signal anywhere inside my 2600 sq ft shop! It was simple and easy to setup and works great and the price was good! I was looking at buying another WRT router and configuring it as a repeater but this was much, much less cost and super easy and the coverage is excellent! Highly recommend!

I have installed many routers, this hands down is probably the easiest I have ever installed. Perfect for my small business. Has the option of adding guest account, network name and password. Mounted on wall, holes are approximately 4 3/8 inches apart if you decide to. Includes an Ethernet cable, no need to buy one!
lori ann –
Good product. It really extends the range. But falls short in picking up the signal from the router. Had to put it close to the router
The Giving Brook –
Works as expected. Has really helped our internet connection. Very pleased with this extender. Highly recommended if you need your wi-fi boosted.

This was ridiculously hard to hookup. It would connect and disconnect within the matter of seconds. Then I get it hooked and have all these weird connections to my internet.

Very easy to install great product for the price

Easy to install and set up, did not need tech support. And a great price.

Ok I was skeptical, but wow! For the price, this is an absolute must have for any house really. It took like 3 minutes to set up from my iPhone, then I plugged it in downstairs in the basement where I previously barely had a signal — boom full signal now and all my devices work! But wait that’s not all…BEST FEATURE:It’s also the same network name and password as the main router! You don’t have to log into another network or anything, it simply extends your network seamlessly just like it says. Easy as that.I couldn’t be happier with this and highly recommend getting it!
Joyce –
This product DOES NOT improve the speed. Actually lower than my original wifi speed. First one is extender!! Very disappointed
S. Park –
Wow! I ordered this WiFi extender yesterday and I received it today! So easy to set up that it only took me a couple of minutes to get it up and running where I wanted it to be. Now, all my Blink cameras get strong WiFi connection and everything works perfectly. I’m very impressed!!!
MARCO –
Instructions are pretty straightforward and easy to understand. I tried the 3 different ways to pair it to my home modem, using my cellphone was the easiest and fastest way to connect for me. Make sure to rename your device because the instructions will not tell you to rename it. Moved it to an area to cover my weak WIFI spot in my home. Connected 2 devices in that room and connection was easy and no issues. Two days later my devices are not working and can’t use the WIFI. They are connected to the extender but “there is a problem with connection”, I easily fixed this problem by unplugging the extender. My 2 devices are connected again. But this issue keeps happening every few days. I’m okay with that but last time it happened I can’t connect no matter how many times I unplug it. I even reset the device and then going through the whole thing of setting it up all over again. This temporarily fixed the issue and the same issue kept happening every few days. I can’t take this because my devices that connect to the extender are WIFI cameras and they are pretty much useless if they can’t connect.

Excellent WiFi booster for throughout your home! So glad we installed it. No holes is coverage.

Easy set up.

This device works as I expected to – it extended the viable range of my wireless router sufficiently to be able to utilize Internet functions from a greater distance than I could before. Previously the connection in a guest bedroom would drop out and it was always “iffy” at best. Now, the signal, though not as strong as it would be within the same room as the router, is nice and steady.

UPDATE 5/8/19 had issues with Radio.com connections, moved TP-Link closer to the router, better now.———————-ORIGINAL———-1 plug in TP-Link close to your router, wait till LED turns solid2 press WPS button on your Router, “see picture”3 press WPS button on TP-Link till it blinks then solid, you’re done! Now go plug it halfway to where you need and wait for connection= (solid blue lights). If your walls are thicker, then you may have to move around and try different areas, perhaps your router too. I took 1 star away because, TP-Link doesn’t help my most demanding wi-fi app, which is “Yi home camera”. My second demanding app is Radio.com and youtube and TP-Link has made their connection much better.

I needed a WiFi extender for my house as my router is against the far wall and I was having problems connecting on the other side. See photos. What you get is negligible latency loss but significant speed loss.

I needed WIFI for my Tesla model 3 parked outside my 3rd floor apartment and the N300 works fine. I plugged it into the electrical outlet nearest the car below, follow the wireless installation instructions and now when I drive into my parking spot I get WIFI connected automatically. So now the car can receive software updates as they become available. So easy and inexpensive. $15. Wow! My router is Netgear and my provider Frontier with fiber optic. The booster is 42’ away from the router at the far end of the two bedroom apartment. The car is 30’ feet below and about 10’ Away from the building under a metal roof.

I really like this extender but it doesn’t have all the benefits I was hoping for. I don’t get the best connection in my room and I bought this so it would be better. It does work very well. I did a speed test and it was better than the router. Since it has a Ethernet plug on the i thought that I could use it for my Xbox one and get a stable connection. I play Fortnite so I was hoping that i would get low ping but I didn’t. It was actually worse and i would get a ton of lag spikes. I was disappointed. But overall I do recommend it for your phone and downloads

it did the job…better connections than i got even when close to my actual router.See the before and after pics, and they pretty much speak which is which.

Product was super easy to hook up but it doesn’t work that well for me. I bought this so I could get WiFi signal out in my garage. It has signal and it works but it’s similar to when I didn’t get signal. My garage is directly next to my house and I’ve moved it 5 times seeing if it’d make any difference and it hasn’t. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

Had a security camera barely getting WiFi so it would record at it’s lowest setting. Ordered this at a great price. EASY to set up and the results were instant. Now I can record the full range of pixels it offers. But that is not the BEST part. Ready??? Read the bold print in the enclosed pic. 👊Now I did just get this 2 days ago. Have not had any problem so far. It is early so I will follow up as soon as one is encountered along with solution.

TP-Link N300 WiFi Range Extender seems to be a very well made product as well as being easy to setup and us.Pros:* Ease of Configuration. The quick installation guide simple to follow. It has 3 methods of installation to chose from: (1) via wPS button, (2) via Web Browser, (3) via Tether App* Setup complete in less than 5 minutes*Signal strength from device is very good*Able to lock onto weak primary WIFI signal to be able to extend range significantly.* Sustains multiple video channels being played on multiple devices at same time.* Additional configuration settings available via Web Browser login to TP Link device.* Ability to “copy” or duplicate the SID of primary WIFI device to create an always on effect no matter where you’re at in our campus network* Reliable WIFI extension… I’ve yet to experience any issues with my WIFI via this range extender* It Works and Simple to USE.Cons:* 3 Methods of installation… choice can be confusing for some. It’s not evident to average person which route to take. The simplest is via WPS button (Method 1).* No additional information manual about functions available to manage via web browser* GNU General Public License booklet… SO WHAT, does anyone even read this stuff. Save the tree and include a link in the Quick Installation guide and have it electronically available.I’ve use multiple devices to achieve WIFI range extension in the past. Most with success, but none have been so quick and easy AND reliable. I’m actually using this device to extend range of a “private” campus network that I manage. It enables a classroom access to an otherwise unusable WIFI network and where Ethernet cable is not able to be run at the current time.Would I recommend? YES, without hesitation. It does exactly what it is designed to do.I even bought a second for my house.

This extends my signal (first picture shows ‘Apple-EXT’ network with more bars than ‘Apple’),… but reduces the speed of the internet where it’s practically unusable. What’s the point?

Once I was able to locate WPS button on my router/WiFi modem this was super easy to set up. We now have wifi in our backyard!

My internet provider is Spectrum and speed is 200 Mbps. I purchased TP-Link N300 and started to use it. When I checked my internet speed (screenshot is below), around 90 Mbps. I have contacted with Tp-link support. Their message is below. I have a very bad experience. I didn’t recommend this router…This 300Mbps means that “300Mbps maixmum theoretical transmit speed at 2.4Ghz frequency”.also means that “when you were tansfering files between your cellphone and computer which are all in the same network of this router, you would get a speed up to 300Mps*0.70=210Mbps, 300Mbps is a theoretical number, we cannot reach that.”But, the Internet browsering speed depends on the WAN port, And the WAN port is limited to 100Mbps so that the Internet speed you get would be 100Mps tops.

We have some guests coming in a couple of weeks from another state that’s going to be camping on our property. What’s a Wi-Fi extender so that they could actually have internet access if they needed while they were chanting from the tent Outback. The picture represents approximately 100 to 125 feet of distance from the Wi-Fi extender. I think for the price that is an excellent value since our current louder only gives us about 50 seat maybe 40 feet and radius from the house actually not radius but circumference from the central location of the router. We live in a tiny house which is a metal pole building so that may prohibit some of the distance of the router signal. However I’m sitting typing this review at the range of I’m going to say at least 125′. I will be trying out Wi-Fi projector to see how it operates with the Wi-Fi extender so stay tuned I may update this review.
Customer –
If your wired internet speed is less than 300 mbps, then this is a quality yet inexpensive router for you! I have no issues connecting 2 devices to the router, and will soon be connecting more, but I’m sure that there will be no changes in performance.

I bought this item really needing to extend my wifi range. I was getting between 120-180mbps before but when I connect to the extender I’m only getting between 9-30mbps. Dont waste your money because it slows down the signal that it extends.

It is a great wifi extender and easy to setup. My main router is in the back of the house and I had some connection troubles while watching TV with Roku. This extender improved the connection speed and quality a lot. Now both my Roku and Ring are using it.

I had high hopes for this thing but oh man what a disappointment. I live in a two-story house, router (also TP-link) is downstairs and every now and then the connection drops for a couple of seconds on the second floor which is to be expected. Now, I’m paying for a 100mbps on Spectrum (most reliable in my area) and when connected directly to the modem or router I usually get speeds over 100, everything else connected through wifi gets somewhere in the 70s if close to the router. On the second floor, I get between 45 and 50 which is why I got this extender. I was hoping to get at least 70 with a steady connection, lol oh how wrong I was, just look at the pictures. First one shows speed test results connected to my wifi alone with nothing else running on my laptop. Second one is through this extender, not only am I getting speeds under 10mbps but the connection kept dropping every few minutes. I don’t know if this unit is broken but honestly beware all the great reviews (from 2 years ago, go figure). Setup is very simple through the app so there’s that. And here I was wondering why there’s a 43% discount on the price right now.
ZappMonkey –
you can rename it or it can share the main wifi signal name. it has a sensor along with the mobile app to help find the perfect location for the extender. this gave my garage and back room some well needed wifi signal and strength.

Easy to install, good wifi coverage BUT it slowed down my internet speed- look at the screenshots – the first with my regular router, the second when i used this extender.

We noticed a difference immediately in our WiFi signal. Internet providers suggest having devices within 15 feet of your modem/router for optimal performance, who can do that??? Our son’s room is on the other side of the house and the signal was horrible, if he was lucky enough to have any signal at all, installed the range extender, and that is no longer an issue. I also ordered a second extender for our home to make sure we had a good, consistent signal throughout our home. I have recommended this product to many family and friends.
Allison –
I bought this booster and it worked PERFECTLY for about 3 weeks. Then, all of the sudden the signal cut out, even though it said I was connected with full bars. I have reset BOTH boosters several times in an attempt to connect, and it won’t even connect to the internet when it’s sitting 10 feet from the router. To make matters worse, I requested a replacement be sent out thinking the first one may have been defective, but the new ones wouldn’t connect either. Such a tease for it to only work for three weeks and then go dead. Total WASTE of my time and money.
Lee Dalahite –
I got this today and after pairing it with my router i moved it to the garage and paired it to my ps4 i went from having 50% dropping connections to 100% stready service this thing has saved my life now i can game and smoke in peace…. Mancave approved….
Cory G –
WA855RE does not even power on out of the box. Out of return window so total waste of money. Garbage!
DavidTejada –
I’ve been using it for a month now and still working real good 👍🏻👍🏻
Jeff –
The first picture is a speed test before I installed the range extender and the second picture is after. So about 50% increase in download speed, 30% increase in upload speed. For $17, it’s totally worth it.

I am very happy with this little device, my dtr and sons room would never have good and stable signal… until now both of them are busy one playing on line the other watching Netflix no lag … I will say I never received any green lights when working on the initial set up… I just plugged the extender near my router pressed the WPS on the router then on the extender both lights were on initially flashing … light to left was red then both both lights turned blue . Once it is in this paired mode I unplugged the extender then plugged it in a mid point in the house lights pulsate for a quick sec then they are solid blue … ready to go nothing complicated at all ! And at the sale price … nothing to loose !!! Well worth it
Maribel Rodarte –
Great product. I can have my wifi extended to my room plus I can block devices so I can have it all to my self lol
Aleigha W. –
Overall very satisfied with this product and help boost my Wi-Fi signal to areas in my yard that wasn’t reachable before. I have not needed to use tech-support so I rated five stars for not needing to use them. If I needed more of a signal boost I would definitely buy this product again

Muy buena señal

I bought this as “used in very good condition.” When i opened the box the ear buds on the right were inside. I guess I got a great value, but it’s NOT what I ordered.
Julibel298 –
so far so good i have ring doorbell but wifi signal was low because router was on my 2nd floor now it works pretty good with this wifi extender was soo easy to instal with the app and connect it with my router
john babitsch –
After you get this setup go to settings, wifi, available networks, I wont say TP-Link… It will say something like …john6550-EXT EXT= extender, that’s the network you want
Zahraa –
After read all the reviews I said I should buy it .For set up just follow the instruction coming with very easyMy WiFi in the basement so I put it in the living room it save our problem with affordable priceWe just put behind tv plug 🔌
Earl the IV –
The extender only extends 2.4 ghz range and doesn’t do the 5ghz range. It wasn’t too difficult to install. It’s definitely was a lot easier if you use the Tether App. Though the app is a bit limited on the setting that you can change. If you want to see more customization options you’d have to connect to the extender through a web browser. It takes a little while before your peripherals to connect to the extender. Additionally the extender had an Ethernet port so you could actually turn hardwired items into wireless items.
Angela garabet –
Using 2 ping pong balls and a sharpie, it can be turned into a happy little robot! Also, great signal, little guy boosts the signal much farther than expected. It’s a hard working little robot friend!└[∵┌]└[ ∵ ]┘[┐∵]┘

I have very fast internet (100 mbps), but the range is so limited so I thought I would try a range extender. The set up was super quick and easy. The signal appeared to be stronger at first, but was so slow and always less than 20 mbps. I tried lots of different locations and other remedies for this product, but nothing worked.
H W C –
Good price, easy to install ( less than 2 minutes), strong signal, works steady, the only BIG PROBLEM is that SLOWS down my internet speed, unfortunately I had to return it although I really wanted it to work.See pics. (one with out) and the other T P LINK N300 extender connected.
Kraston S –
The TP-Link Range Extender was so easy to install taking only about fifteen minutes to set everything up with my Netgear Nighthawk AC-1750 WiFi Router using the WPS button on the router. Excellent instructions are provided with the TP-Link Extender giving you a choice of three methods of integrating it with whatever router you might be using. Our router is located upstairs and the TP-Link Extender was placed downstairs in our living room where the extended wifi range was needed for the Roku Stick connected to our flat screen TV. Upon completing installation I took several speed tests throughout the house and found the wifi speed to be consistent in every room, both upstairs and downstairs, not to mention the garage too.
Glenda N. –
Easy to connect easy to set up and long long range
Gus P. –
Loved the easy set up. Took the WiFi extender out of the package and had it up and running within 2 minutes. The range my WiFi now extends to is phenomenal!
Anderson Family –
Man, this wifi extender SAVED ME!! I am temporarily staying behind my Mom’s house, in my camper, to help her after a fall. Her wifi just barely reached the camper…somtimes. I got this unit and now I have a great signal! I can definitely see using it as I travel in my camper to increase signal wherever I go. I am now officially a HAPPY CAMPER!
CCLOWAS –
It really does work.
K. Parent-Lew –
I live out in the boonies. The best cell signal we get is in the kitchen bay window so that is where I have to keep my MiFi, sitting in the light fixture! LOL Just 15 feet away in the living room I could barely get the MiFi signal. This tp-link wifi range extended is AWESOME!!! Easy to set-up then moved it to the living room. I can actually watch videos better using it than using the original MiFi signal. 🤔 I recommend this item to anyone wanting to either boost the wifi signal or fill in dead spots.
RLS_323 –
Well it does what it says, it provides access too set up an extender. But, the problem was it was a weaker signal than my original wifi connection. Highly disappointed. (Check pictures for reference, the slowest one was the extender. The other pictures are my 2G and 5G signals, it’s not hard to see why I’m disappointed.)
Matt G. –
It’s a small unit, it tucks away nicely and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. In the picture example I have a meter reader for Wi-Fi signal, in the labels which says old dead spots I used to get anywhere from 0 to .6 Mbps. Now it ranges from 182 to over 200 Mbps. So far it’s the best 15 bucks I’ve spent.
Timothy E. –
It didn’t help one bit. Worthless
sam zhao –
Signal good, speed sucks. Yes it brings strengthen signal, but lower speed. Don’t know why I should keep it.
Cactus pal –
Low cost alternative in an apartment. Opened the box, plugged it in to power and building wi-fi via ethernet and it was instantly recognized. Set a unique password.
W. Rhodes –
Could not have been easier to install and move around for maximum benefit. Been thinking about this for a while. I am glad I did!
Hope T. –
I’m not sure what WiFi extender everyone is raving about but it sure isn’t the one I got. Maybe I have a fluke or something but it hasn’t extended anything!!! Gonna give it to the weekend and if it doesn’t change I will be returning it.
Alma S –
I got this because my son’s room is in the basement and the router and Wifi are upstairs and the signal is spotting in his room. I went down and opened the Wifi settings on my phone after it was set up and the one I normally use kept fluctuating downstairs and the one from the extender with the EXT behind it was solid the whole time. It was super easy to set up. You plug it in near the router, push the button on your router that it tells you to in the directions and the button on the extender, wait for the light to go solid blue to show they’re connected, unplug it and move it to where you want it, within range of the router of course, and wait for the light to go solid blue again, then connect away! Great find and buy because it was on sale!
Melinda –
If I could give zero stars I would. This device actually had made my equipment run slower. Not helpful at all as a range extender.
MonaBond –
Works great, was easy to figure out! It is even kinda cute!
Customer –
300Mbps? Wired to my 200Mbps network set up as an access point and standing right beside it I get 31.9Mbps.I get more than dbl that in the area I wanted to improve anyway without it. What a joke.WPS did not work for me but set up via the app was simple.Wasted money in my case as I bought it for the advertised speed expecting it to increase the speed to 200Mbps upstairs (same as downstairs) when wired up and close to it.
zel –
Product is ok but lowers the signal. Checked speed test with placing the extender on multiple location in the house with my main wifi vs extender and results were very disappointing, see attached image. Returning the product since it doesnt commit my expectation. It supposed to extend signal, not slows/ lower down the signal.
Joann Camilli –
So happy
ZoomZoom –
Horrible!!!!!!! Don’t buy it… I mean it’s cheap and works, sometimes… it’s constantly losing signal from the main router… also this is supposed to be a “range extender” maybe for like 20 feet… I’ve moved this around and it still doesn’t pick up the signal very well… I constantly have to unplug it and plug it back up just to get it to sync… the app that it has works well… tech support is horrible as well.. and I’m very tech savvy… I guess that’s why it’s so cheap… if you need it to go through a wall or something it works but you’ll have issues… just not worth the money even though it’s cheap or the effort… find another product so you won’t be constantly messing with this thing.. I want to set it and forget it except when I need to fix something or the power goes out or something like thy but nope… literally EVERYDAY reboot… in me picture the thing is les then 20 feet away from the main router that reaches hundred of yards… this thing still has a weak signal… my phone and all my other devices picks up the signal when this thing won’t… and no mines not defective it’s just cheap and doesn’t work well at all…
toshiro yokohagi –
It is easy to connect the booster. But I could not feel difference signal spped in my dead spot room.I did test next to router to verify if the booster is boosting, or even the same.Speed without booster next to router is upload, download, both 90sh Mbps. If with booster. Signal became 30sh Mbps. This shows this booster makes signal weaken. If manufacture help me. I will add to revise this review.
Laura G –
It works fantastic!!!!
Juliette Cervantes –
Love love love now I can get the WiFi to my room without it disconnecting 🙂
Shackscs –
Very easy to install. Plug it in and have your router search for it.Up and running in the time it took for the router to see it.
Muhammad I. –
This Extender device looks solid but not worked for me as described into different reviews and product descriptions.I am attaching two pictures with this review of Xfinity internet speed test with direct routers and with tp-link extender and you can make decision yourself. With Extender internet speed is 32.0 Mbps and with direct router is 37.7 Mbps. This test I did into my basement and router was located second floor in my bedroom.
Masawudu –
Very easy to set-up, super fast and reliable connection. Will certainly recommend worked for me outside the US; in Africa.
Dennis McIntire –
I had serious doubts that this would work because it seemed too good to be true and inexpensive. Bottom line- it’s nothing short of amazing. It literally took me longer to read the instructions and to set it up.You simply plug it in the vicinity of your router, press the button on the router, wait for the light to turn blue on the TP-300, unplug it and then find an outlet about halfway between the router and the problem area.We had trouble getting Netflix in my daughters room upstairs on the other side of the house. The pictures of the before and after tell the story. (I don’t understand how the TV indicated that it was getting data but the Netflix wouldn’t work. It doesn’t matter. It works now and has more data getting to it.)
David –
I like this product very much because it solved my problem of WiFi signal interruption in the basement.
Carolina Loor –
Good
Customer –
Easy set up, super tiny, but actually slows down WiFi speed. I’ve tested the WiFi speed from several locations, and each time I compare my speeds (using speedtest app) the “ext” version through this extender is about 20% slower than just using my standard router. Not sure how or why it could reduce the signal strength, but that’s exactly what it does. Very disappointed.
Eileen Ortiz –
after olmost two weeks of using my wifi extender is working great now i have great wifi downstairs where there was dead zone verry happy i highly recomened works great for me thank you
Customer –
Super facil de instalar barato y si sigues las instrucciones de colocarlo en un punto mas alto, arreglo todos los problemas de señal en cuartos que no la tenian. recomendadisimo en una casa de 200mt2
Thom –
Just needed the wifi to reach me in the back bedroom and this product did just that. Now I got high speed connection all the time without having to worry about a disconnect!
DENNIS M SULLIVAN –
Hangs and fits loose in socket and falls out easily if you barely touch it. Don’t get a huge boost. Would prob try a diff brand.
William Sherman –
I have used other extenders that cost $50+ each and none of them worked and were as easy to use as this one. It was very easy to set up through their app and only took me about 10 minutes. I use this for the upstairs in my house and it covered the whole upstairs and got me wifi in places I never got before. It also allowed me to get good download speeds from my room (which is upstairs). Overall, I would definitely recommend this to anybody who asked for a wifi extender.
Anibal –
No tiene tanto alcance como el que esperaba pero para distancias cortas es muy bueno.

AWESOME product work’s GREAT…

This review is for the TP-Link TL-WA855RE 300 Mbps Wi-Fi Range Extender (I notice many reviews under this listing are for other products.). Background: we have a large area to cover. I bought the Nighthawk router to give us the best possible signal, but there are still areas where coverage could improve. The TP Link WiFi extender was easy to install. (I gave 1 star because it doesn’t work, but installation was easy enough.) I plugged it in 3 ft from my router, paired it with the WPS button on the router and the WPS button on the extender. After going through the expected indicator light changes described in the instructions, I got a steady blue signal indicating successful pairing. I then moved the extender to three separate locations in the house, each time getting the successful pairing steady blue indicator. I shut off my cellular data on my phone, and using the Speedtest app on an IOS device, check the signal with/without the TP-Link WiFi extender, on both 2.4G and 5G bands. There was zero indication of any improved signal.I then ran through the pairing sequence again to ensure the WiFI extender was properly paired with the router. Then I tested the signal with and without the WiFi extender. Again, there was no indication of any improvement. Some reviews indicated that there would be a duplicate virtual WiFi network rebroadcast by the WiFi extender, and this would be visible as (yournamednetwork).ext. The instructions (which are brief) did not suggest this would be the case with this iteration of the device. I searched for new network connections with the .ext extension, there were none. This device is simple to set up, the form factor is not obtrusive, it’s easy to visually check the network status. If it actually worked, I would love it. But after many tests and even running through setup again, I found no indication that this improved my WiFi signal.

I bought this hoping to get better signal upstairs, and it actually made it worse. Sitting next to my router, I get 120mbps(see pics) when I go upstairs, where I’m hoping to increase my strength, it’s at about 17mbps. After about 35 min of trying to get it linked, I ended up with less signal. (See pics) ok so maybe the extender isnt close enough to the router. So I sit in my front room(not where the router is), link to my standard wifi, I get 118mbps. So I know where I’m at has great signal. I put the extender in that room. Sitting in the same spot, where I just got 118, I link to the extender, and I get 17mbps. So out of curiosity I bring it upstairs, I got 14mbps where I used to get 17. This just wasted an hour of my time.Oh and as far as customer service line. I waited on hold for 18 minutes, just to have them tell me, i won’t get a speed increase in my dead zones I’ll just get a connection. Which makes no sense at all.
CaliJack –
I bought this due to the weak signal I was getting in my living room. The router is in the closet of my master bedroom which is about 50’ from the living room. I was getting very weak signal on my Roku which made steaming terrible. The signal would be so weak that When I watched basketball games it would be blurry and freeze on me. This solved that issue! The Roku device would show weak signal and now it show excellent signal. Basketball games are so much clearer now. The I just installed the TP-Link N300 and it took about 5 mins total. First you plug the WiFi extender to a receptacle near the router. Then you press the WPS button on the router and press the WPS button on the WiFi extender and wait till the blue light stops blinking and stays solid blue. Relocate the WiFi extender between the router and dead zone area, wait till the blue light stays solid blue. Now you look for the WiFi network which is the same name as your existing WiFi but with _EXT. It uses the same password. I would recommend buying this if you are having weak wifi signal around the house.

Dont waste your time. I bought this for my garage. You’d think it could send a signal 8 feet…..nope. this product does not produce any signal. Standing right in front of it, signal too weak to connect. My other router: 212mbps. So returning it and buying another google mesh hub.
Hunter –
This really does boost my WiFi signal. My router is on one side of the house so the other side could not stream tv. I got this it took me about 5 minutes to hook it up and now we can stream movies anywhere in the house.
Mountaintruck1 –
Basic range extender. Easy to install and does as it advertises.
Nicholas Luers –
This does increase the strength of the wifi signal but the speeds are terrible. I wanted to add a little more oomph to the wifi in a basement room. My laptop got around 30-50mbps connected to the network as is, where my phone got about 20mbps.I put this extender in and the wifi signal is 1 to 2 bars higher however the speeds are atrocious. I’m lucky if I get above 10mbps down. See attached photos, 36mbps down when connected to original router. 8.9mbps when connected to the TPLink Extender. Unacceptable. The only use I could see having for this is when I need a wired connection for an older device (like when setting up a linux install before wifi drivers).I am going to look at another model and see if I get the same performance, I plan on returning this.
Sam Luna –
Very easy set up and works great to extend the wifi range. This only handles 2g but having that extended range makes up for not working on 5g. Give it a shot and get the extra range your looking for.
Ed in NJ –
With the modem on one end of the house and my office on the other, I needed something to boost the signal from the one bar I was getting at my desk. This arrived the day after I ordered it, came with easy set up instructions (took 5 minutes), and then beautifully amplified the signal when I moved it to an outlet in the center of the house. From one bar to five. Problem solved.
Kikibird –
This product drops more calls then the wifi alone. Do not buy. It doesn’t not work.
KEEP IT REAL ✌ –
Arrived fast! Works as expected. I needed it to help with a wifi security camera that kept losing signal.
John Ryan –
Works well. Nice an compact. Easy to set up and move around. No complicated parts or any kind of weird instructions. Mainly use it for the basement to just increase the signal for the phones and other devices.
Dawn J –
Cat tested and approvedSo easy to install had it set with our park WiFi took about 5 min Just take your time instructions are simple
Joseph Clark –
Fantastic product! Took less than 5 minutes to set up. No more deadspot downstairs.
John D. –
works great for what i needed,i have a smart tv in the garage and couldn’t get any wifi, installed the extender in my kitchen and niw i can, would recommend this product
Abhayjot Ghumman –
I have a 400 MBPS Wi-Fi router and it wouldn’t go to my room. I’d get only one bar and 1.45 MBPS on 5G and 2G. I’ve recently bought this extender and it’s been working great. I now get about 40-50 MBPS in my room I only wish I’d had 5G support so that’s why I put 4 Stars on Wi-Fi signal.
Annette Torres –
I bought this because from where my router is to my bedroom wasn’t getting enough WiFi. And having this it’s better.
shakyas –
Been using it for about a day, does what its supposed to do.. easy to install
Kevin Suarez Torres –
Fácil de instalar
BenLee –
So it took less than 3 minutes to get this device setup using the WPS button on my router. Once it was added to my network I unplugged it, took it to its new location and plugged it in. Checked my signal and it was much better, almost 50% better.I was going to spend close to $200-300 on a wifi mesh system, this device at less than $20 did the job.
Alberto Corporan –
Este articulo me llego con rastros de uso, no tenia la funda platica y cuando lo destapo esta hasta sucio
stone smith –
This little guy far exceeded my expectations for how well it can boost the signal, how easily it can be installed and overall just how great of a product this is! I have not had to deal with tech support given the years of set up and operation but if their tech-support is anything like the quality of this product I’m sure it’s five stars it as well!
Shauna snay –
This was so easy to set up plugged it in Push one button on my router one button on the Wi-Fi Booster and boom done! WiFi Works all over my house now!
simon –
My son was getting poor or no WiFi reception on his iPhone, purchased this extender and now he gets 100% WiFi.Easy set up.
lizette –
This device worked perfectly for what I need it. Since I started to work at home due to the CoronaVirus. I needed to install my desktop in my room and I don’t have the router in there. So I used this to connect my desktop in my room. Works perfectly. Easy to install. No problems at all
iPhone User –
Wow this is incredible! I bought this because I don’t get a strong enough signal in my bedroom. The set up to get my WiFi onto the extender took about minutes. It’s located in my bedroom and I don’t lose reception on any device connected to the WiFi extender now. An absolute must have for anyone with a bad WiFi reception.
Srinivas Pobba –
I was able to set it up in just 30 secs. Pushed the WPS button on router and then pushed WPS on TP Link WiFi extender, and that’s all there is to it. I setup my office space in our detached garage and plugged the TP Link in the garage. The Router is about 40 ft away from the TP Link but it still works perfectly for my office applications.
Customer –
WiFi extends well but the Ethernet port came in messed up, did not have all the pins inside the area
Cristal Barajas –
Unfortunately this did not do what it was supposed to do. Our room consistently cuts out of our own WiFi so we figured to try this. It did not extend the WiFi and it even made it slower than the one we had. So unfortunate about that.
Andrea –
I followed all instructions and got the device to work but it’s extremely slow i’m getting speeds as low as 7mbs vs the 100mbs i get on my regular router
M ADAMS –
Installed and working within 5 mins! I live in 1300 sq foot townhouse. You would think a mansion. But this quick fix solved my wi-fi issue for upstairs!
Kaelyn –
Works like a charm and is easy to set up. Had it for months now. Still good.
Iven Cunanan –
I noticed recognized only 2.4 not 5GAlso signal very weak! See photosDownload below 10mbpsUpload below 5mbpsVery disappointed

Extremely disappointed! It was easy to get it started but it doesn’t give me good signal.

It works definitely recommend when you install it you should use the app on your phone for it to set up faster
cmlife –
Overall is good. However, it lost connection after using VPN a while.
Alicia –
Did as advertised
Connor M –
Couldn’t be easier to install. Works wonders as you can tell by the speed test screenshots. My home is rather old so I’m really impressed with it’s range
Karcher –
Love this product helped me a lot
Sasha Sasha –
Works great!
Klaus –
I had some slow to no connection at the front of my house to 3 wifi cameras. This helped to alleviate that. Easy install. I had to move to find optimal location.
Matthew Alan –
Do not buy! I was getting 40mbps without the extender and with the extender I was getting less than 10mbps
Joshua –
My signal in my room is terrible, and having this extender is a godsend. I actually didn’t even realize it had an Ethernet port when I got it, so it just made a great product simply perfect. I struggled to set it up using the first method it provided, but the second method worked within seconds. It has been a true lifesaver!!
Dr. Chris –
I found the set up to be very easy. Press two buttons and wait for the light to stop blinking and then login to the extended network. I tried it in all kinds of different places around the house and in every single case except for one the Wi-Fi signal from my router was much stronger than the Wi-Fi signal from the extender. The only time that they were similar was when they were in the same room. I finally went to the room where my office is to test it the two signals. As you can see (photos) the higher one is with my router and the lower one is when I connect to the extender. The router basically makes my signal worse and I’m better off without it. I’m very disappointed. I know it was only $20, but if it makes my signal 1/3 of what I could get without it what’s the point? I’ve already arranged to returned it. Maybe it will work for you? Are you feeling lucky?
S. Brueninghaus –
Installation was easy, but even though the wireless connection is strong, as other users commented, download speed is a trickle. Too bad, it would be a great product if it worked.
Cy C. –
After install impression:Pros: very affordable. Got it for $20. easy setup. Good signal.Cons: bottle necking your main wireless router speed. Might be different if you use the ethernet port.I got this so I have wifi when I’m outside the house on the driveway. I put it by the door and able to get decent signal outside, but obstacles (doors, walls) really cut the speed down.
Customer –
This thing is junk, it picks up signal then after a while it loses it, we have reset, moved it and all but to no avail it still loses signal after a few minutes. In photos you can see both lights are on solid but the Ext has no signal.
iSeekPer5ection –
This worked for me. I was a little weary after reading recent review but, t worked just fine!
maleah –
I couldn’t connect to the WiFi for my laptop at all in my room then when I plugged in the extender I got a signal but it was weak. I tried moving to closer and the highest signal bars I received was 3/5 but for a few seconds after that I had to use 1 bar of wifi signal which is practically nothing.
Corey Dresser –
This product lowered my mb/s speed from 20 all the way down to under 1 mb/s.Why would someone pay money to LOWER their wifi speed?
Vincent Farrington –
I live in a basement apartment. I was so frustrated with WiFi and internet cause I’m sharing with other people. I installed this and wham everything changed for the better. Easy to set up no problem. Price us awesome. Great purchase
Matthew Glasscott –
This product will cut your wifi speed by AT LEAST 50%. There is absolutely no indication of this in the product description, and I just spend 2 hours on the customer helpline trying various “fixes” before they informed me of this ESSENTIAL fact.My ATT wifi speed is around 30 mb/s, and I bought this product to extend the signal into my office, where it was weaker. The TP-Link N300 Extender installation was easy, but when I connected and ran a speed test, the speed was 5 mb/s, a WHOPPING 85% SLOWER THAN THE ROUTER. There was no attempt for rectification made, just a cold customer service representative telling me, quote, “Most extenders are running at half duplex”. First, thank you for the technical jargon (e.g., “duplex”) that an average customer obviously can’t understand. Second, how is this not part of the product details??? Very disappointing, 0/5 stars.
Customer –
It’s extremely easy to install.I wish it could support 5.0
sassunflower –
I put the extender right next to the router to test. My normal WiFi was 200+ mbps, my extender WiFi was <10. Trash.
Sinter –
Setup is super complex. The only way it worked was by using the laptop. The mobile app or WPS didn’t work. After 30 mins wasted on setup and keeping repeater next to the router, it failed to deliver even 50% of the original speed. My actual speed on wifi is 200 MBPS. The repeater delivered 20 MBPS speed.Don’t trust this brand anymore.
Vincente –
Awesome product works excellent where the Wi-Fi dontreach.
suzaku –
keeps dropping connection every hour, it’s more useful as a paperweight than a range extender. not recommended
Duvie –
It was easy to setup using application mine is working as access point not as extender I tried both before with no issues
JBueno –
Don’t work slow speed no matter where I put the extender even on the same room of my router Don’t work at all.my router speed is 121mpbs the extender only up to 7 mpbs
Zydae Joyner –
My WiFi is ZEN and with the extender it’s ZEN-EXT. as you can see it did not increase WiFi signal. Remained the same strength
Customer –
Light never turned on
Jonathan A. –
I’m really unsatisfied with this, I expected a lot more, first photo is using the extender, second is without. I’m going to give this the benefit of the doubt because I did buy cheap Ethernet wires but I’m buying Cat 8 wires, I’m hoping it’s just the wire and not the extender it self
Ahmad Al-hamdan –
easy to use and good product
