I’m very happy with this buy, finally the items arrived to my hands here in Venezuela. Items were well packaged, they arrived without problem. Works very good, I have connected my smartphone, laptop, and desktop pc, my brother his smartphone too and my cousin his iphone, and ipod.

Excellent budget router! I purchased one of these to replace an old 3Com router that finally locked up continuously. Looking for a good router cheap I found TP Link and most of the reviews were favorable so I gave it a shot. I needed a router if nothing else that was stable as I’d be running my main connection and home servers in addition to about 4-5 devices on wifi. My Specs were simple, Wireless n, 100mbps LAN, decent range. This thing delivers on that and much more, I’ve had it in service for about 6 months now non-stop and not a single hiccup! Pretty impressed with it.

The power supply gives off a high pitched whining constantly. I was getting headaches every time I was in the room. Googled a way to fix the issue and read that I could open the power supply and add a little glue around the parts to help dampen the whining. I opened the power supply plug and found that some one else had already put glue all over the parts inside (see pictures). I did not add any glue, everything in the picture is as it was when sold. It looks like I was told this item was “new” but it turns out that TP-Link lied and is selling refurbished garbage.

I am LOVING this wifi router. It’s fast, offers a broad range, and has not given me any issues in the months I’ve owned it. The signal goes through three walls and a whole bevy of kitchen appliances to reach my laptop, which has never had a connectivity problem since getting this router. It’s at this moment showing 4/5 bars. The only criticism I have is how incredibly bright the lights are. Due to the wiring in my apartment, the router is in my bedroom, so it can be super bright at night. I covered mine with washi tape, so now it looks like this. No biggie–problem easily solved. Background: I’m signed up for the cheapo cable internet. Hey, I’m on a budget and I don’t REALLY do anything that needs a lot of speed. Anyway, I used their modem for the first month and, previously in my other apartment, used the FiOS provided one. I have a cable modem and a wifi router that are ten years old from when I was in graduate school. Two months ago I switched out the cable company’s modem for my own 10 y.o. ones. The wifi router was, unfortunately, not strong enough to get through the walls of my current apartment. The modem wasn’t an issue–it worked fine when connected directly (thankfully!) even after having been dormant for almost a decade. So I went hunting for a wifi router that would give a strong signal and also be budget friendly.Enter: This router. It was easy to set up and was the solution to my wifi problems. I’m happy with the purchase and, particularly, with the strength of the signal.

It provided me a stable speed over a week so far. I used to have the different model prior to this one and it was constantly being dropped after the use of 6-7 months and I had to reset/reboot quite often. So far, I am very satisfied with the product and speed as well as its stability for my daily home use and hope this lasts long. Given the low price of it, I strongly recommend this!!! I’m using COX internet service in SoCal and the service max speed is 100Mbps download.

A few days ago I received this amazing router. I had some problems with the Wi-Fi connection at my bedroom. Luckely I had an ethernet cable running to my PC, so I could hook this up to a router.I bought this one because of the price drop and the high raiting. After opening the package you will get the router itself including a short ethernet Cat.5 cable. I had to turn of the modem, connect the ethernet cable from the modem to the router, turn on the modem and wait for 2 minutes to turn on the router. After 2 minutes of waiting I turned on the router and I thought something has gone wrong, but I had to wait a little longer and then the Wi-Fi signal was there and I had internet on my PC.The installation was pretty simple so everyone can do this. The funny part is that the signal is stronger than the signal of the modem!I really recommend to buy this router. It’s around $20 for now. That is very cheap for this quality product!

Very stong signal and faster internet connection. For 30$ is a must have item

Great for the price. Set up is easy and the router is nice and hardy.

I Bought this router for several reasons . 1. price . 2. Signal strength- three far-reaching 5dBi antennas and speed of up to 450Mbp. I dont really get up to those speeds on my home network to test it. Ran speed test on desktop pc on Ethernet results- download 87 Mbps – im about 50+ feet away from my router and on my phone (galaxy s6) I am getting 39.75 Mbps . Its passing 3 walls so connection is pretty good for the distance on my phone. Model No. TL-WR940N/TL-WR941ND

Perfect easy to use strong signal

Great little router, it does everything it promised. The setup was really easy, the quick setup instructions are detailed and have pictures so that even someone who felt uncertain about setting up their own wifi will feel confident connecting this router. Creating a new name and password was also a breeze, and using this router instead of the clunky old one we had has nearly doubled our download speeds.

TP-Link N450Excellent and easy install. If you are looking for a simple router for daily use this is the one. I got 10mbps from Comcast and I have Netflix, Xbox one and about 5 devices.

I give it 4 stars because it is too huge in my opinion. It is about the size of two adult female hands side by side. I thought it would be small enough to fit in one hand but the photo is a bit deceiving. If space is not an issue, go for it.

It works fine for me .. installed in 2 mins .. connected to a pc via cable and to my phone ( wifi ), both working just fine, i used to have the retarded ASUS cell spot from the retarded company ( T-MOBILE ), and i never been able to use the wifi calling option properly .. but now i can use it, don’t try to get the T-Mobile cell spot, you better invest your money in this cheap TP-Link which works better than other expensive routers in the market .

So far I have owned this product for a little over two months.-First, set up was extremely easy. The SSID and password printed on the S/N label, there was no need to log in or do any sort of verifying online.-Second, range has been great. In a 1,100 sq. ft. apartment we are able to connect to a full strength signal in all rooms.-Third, SPEED! I have ran both 75 mbps and 25 mbps at different times and got almost my entire internet speed both separate times. If you check the speed test I ran we are getting almost the entire 25 mbps.-Fouth, streaming. We do ALOT of streaming and internet surfing. With this router we’ve had two separate tv’s streaming while phones and laptop were connected to the wifi as well. Not a single problem. My old router from Qwest used to crap out and we would occasionally have to unplug it and reset it. Also, it was almost impossible to stream from two TV’s and use a laptop. Not anymore! This router is great. Some people in the reviews have complained about how bright the blue connection lights are, this has not been a problem for me. Granted we keep the router in the living room, but the lights have never bothered me. You can see in the picture they are not that bright.

This is my second TP-Link Wireless router. After just one month of use, it became erratic in usage. Every 15-20 min, the connection to the wireless router drops. This is very inconvenient for working from home while connected to a work VPN connection and opening Putty Session. The connection always drops while working! This causes a lot of inconvenience. This device is not reliable at all. There is no electric interference of any device next to the router at the time of disruption. I attached 2 screenshots of a ping command to the router interface using `ping 192.168.0.1 -t -w 4000` taken 15 minutes apart.I had the same problem with a TP-Link WD8968 ADSL2+ wireless modem router that I had. If you need a more reliable consistent wireless connection, I would suggest other brands. I give this device a 2.5/5 not three stars.

Very configurable, lots of options. I use this as a second router (WAN to LAN) off my main router so I can control the kids internet access (by MAC address). Parents log into the main router for internet access. The WAN is configurable (Static IP); I use the primary router as the gateway. I don’t use the Parental Controls, but I do take advantage of the Access Control. Here you can limit your kids internet time by creating schedules. It took a little bit of trial and error to get things configured the way I wanted. I have a total of three routers now, each with it’s own management port so I can log into either downstream router. Need to turn on Remote Management under Security options for this to work.

Arrived within 2 days (prime member) this is my 3rd month using this unit v.3 and so far it’s been solid the wifi range is fair to good on my property I bought a wifi extender thinking I would need it, I didn’t also I use the DDNS feature it works well too and I port forward to my CCTV system and I can admin this router anywhere outside my LAN using a unique port number for webmin, I use my mobile device and fireTV with no problems my download speed is 30mbps and it does all I need, my only problem is I received v.3 and they are on v.5

SlowWas getting 20Mbps on a good day.Changed for a new router and am now getting 77 to 100 Mbps (my advertised speed)Even the ethernet ports are slow. I can get 100 Mbps connecting my computer direct to the modem. If I pass through the router I will top out at 25MbpsThe picture shows my new router (top 2 tests) vs the reviewed router.

This has a lot of negative reviews, though I can’t figure out the reasons why. I purchased this for my business so that I could get away from renting a modem/router combo from the cable company. One of the best routers I’ve ever owned, hands down. I use this with an ARRIS SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem (SB6190) and it works flawlessly. I never have issues with my connection stopping or slowing down like I did with the cable company provided wifi. I get almost the exact speeds from WiFi as I would with a direct connection (keep in mind that WiFi will always be slower). Upload speeds are important to me because I work with a cloud drive, and I’m constantly uploading huge files. I currently only pay for 75MBPS download/10 MBPS upload, but this is rated to go much faster than that. Changing the router name and password took less than 5 minutes, and I have at least 5 devices connected at a time. I’ll update if I have any issues in the future, but for now, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an affordable router that works wonders.

I have had this router 23 months. It has been a bargain router that has performed well. Easy to navigate the menus. No guest network option, but what do you expect for $28?It has been rock solid, until the last month. The wifi drops every 6-10 minutes. If you wait 30 seconds, it comes back. Naturally, I remembered I had a 2 year warranty! Warranty support has been somewhere between Purgatory and Idiocracy. I explain the problem, and send screenshots of the problem. They ask more questions. They do not understand basic router terminology.Being that the router is $28, it is pretty much disposable. I should have just bought a new one and skipped customer support. Looking to replace it with an ASUS router, as I can’t let these open-mouth-breathing tech support guys win.

Works great out of the box! Setup is super easy and worked from the first try for me. Just read options description and you will figure out what to use based on your provider and connection type.I have Comcast XFinitiy and use this router together with : NETGEAR CM400 8×4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. (NO WIRELESS/MODEM ONLY) Works for Xfinity from Comcast, Spectrum, Cox, Cablevision & More . I have to use ‘Clone MAC Address’ option. My plan has 60MBPS / 5 MBPS limits and speed test shows similar results while I’m connected via Wi-Fi !

Reliable and quality product! Got 250 mbps xfinity, but pushing 280 mpbs!
Darrell Jermaine –
For the most part, it works excellent so far. Just upset that they slapped a postal sticker on the box and shipped it like that & was left on the feont porch in plain view.

This is the second time I ordered this product. The first time I got exactly what I ordered and it worked. The second time I got an older version (it did not look like what you see in the photo) and it didnt work! I didn’t set up my internet for a while as I was using this for my new home when I moved in so now I can’t return the broken product. This is very frustrating. Plug in your modem right away after getting to to make sure it works!

Please be aware that this router is only capable of speeds up to 100/10. The listing does not state this anywhere. You have to go to the tplink website to find the specs for each lan/wan port. The listing is deceptive. If you are pleased with 100 max (or, per the customer service rep that I spoke to “90% of the listed 100mbps” best case scenario) then this is a fine router. It’s easy to use and a nice UI on the control webpage. If you plug anything over 100mbps into this router, you will be throttled back (even on a direct ethernet wired connection) and will be wasting your money for the 300, 400, 1000 mbps internet you are paying your service provider for.
Douglas Howey –
TP-Link Customer support answered my question/complaint (chat session on their website) by stating the Specs show network speeds are NOT 450Mbps. Their descriptors over and over again refer to 450Mbps network speeds. But their WAN port is only 10/100. This company needs to take away their 450Mbps Speed advertising statements and Overview Statements because most people do not know about negotiating speeds versus network speeds. The speed listed is generally understood to be the Network Speed. TP-Link did not care what I said and TP-Link Customer Support stands by their false advertising. The max WiFi speed possible on 2.4GHz is only about 40Mbps. I was hoping the 450Mbps would at least work over the LAN ports. Not so. 90Mbps is the top speed. And sadly, using more than one LAN port often failed to work, at the same time. My goal was to use the LAN ports for streaming devices and use the slower wifi for my SmartHome (smart home devices do not need high speeds.) Okay, the specs show 10/100 max speeds for the LAN ports. But, I still think Stating 450Mbps Wireless Speed is false on the face of it.So, bottom line, from mpov: Only use this router if you only have ONE LAN Device (RJ45 ethernet cable) and wifi devices that of course only need slow WiFi. And your one LAN device will not be served with speeds higher than about 90Mpbs.

The unit work first week fine after that just start to drop very slow Wi-Fi speed not recommend to buy it to anyone Look at the picture first weeks Speedtest and after And yes I tried to restart it so many times update lock the new picture omg now like 3g speed time to send back this useless 💩
Doctor Feel Great –
The fastest speed I could get on the 2.5ghz 802.11N channel was 30 – 45Mbps – well under what it was rated to do. The 5Ghz 802.11AC channel was faster than the Gigabit ethernet ports. Not all my devices can handle the 5 Ghz 802.11AC channel and I am looking for a router that can give me closer to the speeds I am paying for.

I put this router in my work shop 175 feet away from my house using a KuWFi Point-to-Point Wireless Access Point 2.4G WiFi Bridge, renamed the router’s SSID to the same as the house router so I don’t have to switch my phone’s connection when going from house to shop. Works perfectly, using it to stream music and watch TV in the shop.

First, the shipping is fast, and the internet speed very fast. (I compared the old one and tP link) 39vs 89. Sec, the price is reasonable, and set up is easy as well(3mins work).

CANNOT HANDLE MORE THAN 100Mbps!!! tech support is absolutely abysmal and kept trying to hand me off to a different person when their “troubleshooting” wouldn’t work. Absolutely misadvertised product.

Combine this high signal strength medium-bandwidth Router (May not cover a busy classroom of 20 students, plenty for a single family) with a TP-Link TL-PA4010KIT AV600 and your existing router. The kit turns your entire electric house wiring into a wired Ethernet network. Plug one adapter into the wall and run its Ethernet cord to your home router. The other adapter goes at the other end of the house and attaches to this AC1200 router, same way. A couple of button pushes pairs everything together; the instructions are excellent and easy to follow. Set all your devices to connect to all four wi-fi signals: regular and 5G, both routers. Place the router high up – see my pictures- mine is out in the garage and my Tesla is out on the driveway, my wife upstairs in the sewing room, and we love videos on the backyard deck. Lots of signal, inexpensive.
