The Actiontec C3000A is a bonded VDSL2/G.fast gateway router built for CenturyLink internet. It combines a modem and dual-band WiFi router in one device and ends the $15 per month CenturyLink equipment rental fee. Plug it in, open a browser, and the Auto-Detect Wizard configures your connection automatically.
The C3000A is built for CenturyLink ADSL, ADSL2+, VDSL2, and GPON fiber service. It is also used on Brightspeed DSL in the former CenturyLink territories Brightspeed now operates. Deployment types vary by address, so confirm compatibility with your local plan before ordering.
The C3000A supports bonded (two-line) DSL and G.fast, which the single-line C4000LG does not. If your plan runs over a bonded pair, the C3000A is the one to buy. The C4000LG offers newer WiFi 6, while the C3000A uses dual-band 802.11ac (WiFi 5). On standard single-pair DSL with a house full of wireless devices, consider the GreenWave C4000LG instead. Your provider can tell you which line type you have.
Pair bonding delivers throughput up to 6 Gbps. Dual-band 802.11ac WiFi runs 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz at once, keeping 4K streaming, gaming, and video calls stable with 15 or more devices. Setup takes minutes: the Auto-Detect Wizard identifies your service type, Optim Agent handles whole-home WiFi management, and TR-069 lets CenturyLink troubleshoot remotely. See our Actiontec C3000A Setup Guide for activation, password changes, and common fixes.
WPA3 encryption with WPA/WPA2 backward compatibility, an SPI firewall with DoS protection, parental controls, and DMZ support. WiFi Alliance certified for EasyMesh, EasyConnect, and Agile Multiband, so it can anchor a mesh system later.
