The Arris SBG6580-2 is one of the best modem router combos available with DOCSIS 3.0 technology and a wide range of compatible providers. Create an all-in-one network solution for your home or business with this cable modem with wireless router built-in. A 4-port Ethernet switch and Wireless-N access point provide fast, reliable wired and Wi-Fi Internet connectivity for all of your devices.
The Arris SBG6580-2 is compatible with a wide range of US-based Internet providers including Comcast, Spectrum, Time Warner, Charter, Cox, Cablevision & others. Always call your provider before ordering to ensure this model works with their firmware and will be adequate for your internet plan.
The SurfBoard Arris SBG6580-2 comes equipped with 4 Gigabit 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports which can be used to connect computers, printers, or range extender/repeater devices to extend your wireless network. The modem's built-in Wireless-N (802.11b/g/n) router delivers high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity for mobile devices and peripherals. Dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz wireless connectivity support high-bandwidth applications, including video streaming and file sharing. This model features 8x4 channel bonding which supports download speeds up to 343 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 131 Mbps. Please note that dual-band connectivity is not concurrent.
This SBG6580-2's ease of use makes it the ideal device for anyone looking to do a self-installation of their home network without the assistance of their internet provider's technician. Our technicians at ModemGuides feel strongly that this model is as close to "plug'n'play" as it gets. You will need to contact your provider's customer service phone number to activate this model, however, this has shown to be relatively quick and easy compared with other DOCSIS 3.0 devices.
Since Arris & Motorola's merge back in 2012, Arris absorbed Motorola and they are now functioning as one. Some models, depending on when they were manufactured, may have Arris or Motorola branding. The SBG6580-2 you receive from ModemGuides may have either Motorola or Arris branding. Please contact us if you have any questions.
