The NETGEAR Nighthawk CM2050V is a DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem built for Xfinity Internet and Voice service. With support for cable plans up to 2.5Gbps and two built-in telephone lines, it is one of the fastest voice-enabled cable modems available for Xfinity subscribers looking to ditch rental equipment and save up to $168 per year.
DOCSIS 3.1 technology delivers speeds up to 10 times faster than older DOCSIS 3.0 modems. The CM2050V is certified for use with Xfinity and supports the fastest residential cable plans currently available, including Xfinity's Triple Play bundles. A 2.5Gbps Ethernet port provides a true multi-gig wired connection to your router, so your network hardware is not the bottleneck.
Unlike standard cable modems, the CM2050V includes two RJ11 telephone ports for use with Xfinity Voice service. Supported calling features include caller ID, call waiting, 3-way conference calling, and call forwarding. An RJ11 telephone cable is included in the box.
The CM2050V is a standalone modem (not a gateway), so you can pair it with the Wi-Fi router of your choice. For the best performance, NETGEAR recommends connecting it to a Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 router or an Orbi mesh system. Setup is straightforward and does not require a technician visit in most cases.
Compatibility Note: The CM2050V is certified for Xfinity Internet and Voice service only. It is not compatible with Verizon, AT&T, CenturyLink, DSL providers, DirecTV, or DISH. Made for use in the United States.
