Because the DSL modem, router, and WiFi are all in one box, the DGND4000 replaces the rental modem from your DSL provider and simplifies your setup. A Gigabit Ethernet WAN port even lets it keep serving as your WiFi router if you later move to cable or fiber service.

Will this work with my internet company?

The Netgear DGND4000 is primarily used with Frontier DSL service in most areas. The built-in modem supports ADSL, ADSL2, and ADSL2+ lines only; it does not connect to VDSL or fiber service through the DSL port, though the Gigabit Ethernet WAN lets it work as a router behind a fiber or cable modem.

Always contact your service provider's customer service before placing your order to confirm this model will work with your line type and service plan. Some service plan speeds may not be supported.

Setup

1. Install an ADSL microfilter on every phone or fax that shares the DSL line (the modem itself connects without a filter).
2. Connect the included DSL/phone cable from your wall jack to the modem's DSL port.
3. Plug in the power supply and wait for the lights to stabilize.
4. Connect a computer or phone to the preset WiFi network on the label, or by Ethernet.
5. Open routerlogin.net and let the NETGEAR genie wizard walk you through setup. Keep your provider account details handy in case PPPoE credentials are required.
