The Nighthawk RS300 is a WiFi 7 router built for busy homes on fast internet plans. It broadcasts three bands at once (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz) for combined speeds up to 9.3 Gbps*, covers up to 2,500 sq. ft., and keeps up to 100 devices connected at the same time. Why the third band matters

Most routers split every phone, TV, camera, and laptop across two bands. The RS300 adds a 6 GHz band with extra-wide 320 MHz channels, which works like an open express lane for your newest devices. Less crowding on the other two bands means steadier video calls, smoother 4K streaming, and lower lag in games, even when the whole household is online. WiFi 7 is about 2.4x faster than WiFi 6, and the RS300 stays fully backward compatible with older WiFi devices.

Multi-gig wired ports

Plug your modem or gateway into the 2.5 Gig internet port and the router can pass along plans faster than 1 Gbps. Two 2.5 Gig LAN ports and two Gigabit LAN ports handle gaming PCs, consoles, NAS drives, and smart TVs, and a USB 3.0 port lets you share a drive across your home network.

Works with any internet provider

The RS300 is a standalone router, so it connects by Ethernet to the modem or gateway you already have. It works with cable, fiber, DSL, and satellite service, with no coax connection needed. Setup and security

The free Nighthawk app (iOS and Android) walks you through setup, then lets you run speed tests, pause devices, and create a guest network from your phone. Advanced settings are available in a web browser at routerlogin.net. WPA3 encryption, automatic firmware updates, and guest WiFi are built in. A 30-day trial of NETGEAR Armor is included, and the optional subscription is not required to use the router.

Common questions

Does the RS300 include a modem?
No. It is a router only, so you need a separate modem or provider gateway with an Ethernet port.

Do I need WiFi 7 devices to use it?
No. WiFi 6, WiFi 5, and older devices connect normally. WiFi 7 phones and laptops get the fastest speeds, and every device benefits from the less crowded network.

Will it speed up my internet plan?
It cannot exceed the speed you pay for, but it lets your devices use the full plan over WiFi, which many older routers cannot do.
