The Technicolor CGM4231 modem is a DOCSIS 3.1 capable cable gateway. This model offers the features you need for triple-play services beyond Gigabit speeds. Thanks to its integrated wireless video bridge, the CGM4231 can support seamless real-time HD video streaming over 802.11ac Wi-Fi without any interruptions. Additionally, this model includes integrated telephone service, so you can take full advantage of your provider's triple play plans.
The CGM4231 cable gateway is compliant with the latest DOCSIS 3.1 standards. Because of that, this model is capable of downstream speeds of up to 3.6 Gbps and upstream of up to 1.5 Gbps. This is made possible by using 2 Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) for the downstream channels and 2 OFDMA for the upstream channels. Resulting in superior performance which allows you to take advantage of multi-gigabit speed plans from your provider.
The CGM4231 also includes support for smart home applications to make life easier. This includes Internet of Things (IoT) applications and services allowing you to create smarter use cases for the digital home. Compatible applications can assist with your home security, comfort, media or family care. The CGM4231 integrates options for various IoT connectivity such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, Thread or Near Field Communication (NFC) to make life easier every day at home and on the go.
The CGM4231 comes with one or more superspeed USB 3.1 Gen 1 master ports to support mass storage devices, LTE and 4G USB adapters. This enables transfer speeds multiple times higher than the conventional USB 2.0. Therefore, you can easily keep your devices communicating throughout your home with this convenient feature.
DOCSIS 3.1 is a technology standard for cable modems that provides high-speed internet access over a coaxial cable network. It stands for "Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification" and it is the latest version of the DOCSIS standard. DOCSIS 3.1 offers faster internet speeds and improved network performance compared to previous versions, making it a popular choice for cable internet subscribers.
