Multi-Link Operation lets devices use both bands at once for lower latency during gaming, streaming and video calls. The quad-core chip keeps the network responsive with 40 or more connected devices, and beamforming steers the signal toward the rooms that need it. Note that this is a dual-band model, so it does not include the 6 GHz band found on tri-band WiFi 7 routers.

Multi-gig wired, easy to manage

Two 2.5G ports give you a fast WAN link for gigabit-plus internet plans and a second port for a NAS, gaming PC or wired mesh backhaul. Setup takes a few minutes in the Tenda app, and remote management lets you check devices, cap bandwidth or toggle the status LED from anywhere. Guests can join by tapping an NFC-enabled Android phone on the included sticker.

ISP compatibility

The BE12 Pro is a standalone router, not a modem, so it works with any provider. Connect it to your existing cable modem, fiber ONT or DSL modem, or place your ISP gateway in bridge mode to let the Tenda handle routing. Routers do not require ISP approval, so there is no activation step with your provider.

Does the Tenda BE12 Pro replace my modem?

No. It is a router only and needs a separate modem or fiber ONT for internet service.

Does it have a 6 GHz band?

No. The BE12 Pro is dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) with WiFi 7 features like MLO and 4K QAM. Choose a tri-band model if 6 GHz is a priority.

Can it handle a 2 Gig internet plan?

Yes. The 2.5G WAN port supports plans above 1 Gbps when paired with a multi-gig modem.

Does it support mesh?

Yes. EasyMesh support lets you add compatible nodes, including a second BE12 Pro, over WiFi or a wired 2.5G backhaul.

Does it work with VPN services?

It includes VPN server and client features, but protocol support varies by provider. Confirm compatibility with your VPN service before relying on router-level VPN.

Can I install OpenWRT?

Community OpenWRT builds exist for this model, but they are not official Tenda firmware and may still be in development.
